Jerry is worthy of every once pain and anguish over his love child Prescott.
As long he tries to prove to the world that Dak is the man the more he buries the STAR in mud the richer Dak gets.
Hey by the time Dak is done he will probably have enough $ to buy the team from Papa Jerry who knows at this point as no one and I mean NO ONE has done so little in the NFL and received so much!
Now someone from the Church of Dak get him his dang crutches!!!!

My main issue isn’t signing Dak

The main issue is that it could cause a coaching opportunity to be less desirable here because you have the QB in place.

Does somebody like Johnson or Slowik want to risk their chances on a guy like Dak? Or do you go somewhere like Las Vegas and get to draft your guy?

I always said, it’s going to be a guy like Mike Vrabel. This is a good thing. Vrabel is a defensive minded coach and we need help on that side. He can come in, say let’s get you an upgrade at RB, WR and some OL help and know Dak, Lamb, Fergs, Tyler Smith will all be good players.
Has a player or more specifically a starting QB come back from this injury to play at the same level before? My hope is that the staff recognizes Dak is nowhere near able to compete at a high level after rehab and that he retires, if that helps our cap space situation (I am completely ignorant of the cap rules.)

If only Jerry listened to Steamin Willie Beamen four years ago. The time to move on from Dak was after the broken ankle in 2020.

And I dont want to hear about the draft being a crapshoot for QBs anymore as the excuse. This year has proven that you can sign a vet for the cheap and get similar results (Baker, Cousins, Geno, Darnold, Wilson)

Yeap! The Patriots back in their hey day knew when to cut bait. Even if the guy was productive and had gas left in the tank they would move on from the player.

Jerry just can't help himself.

He has to sign players to franchise drippling contracts that take years to get off the books.
Unless we are financially constrained, the FO re-signs all of the notable homegrown players.

He couldn't pay Byron Jones, so he was forced to let him walk.

But how did they not see that coming? Was it not possible to deal Byron to receive something better than the comp pick (99th overall)?

Considering he briefly became the highest paid CB in the NFL, I find it hard to believe we could not have dealt him for at least a 2nd.

The Team had a lead against Aaron Rodgers in the Playoffs.....what happened to the scoring defense?
This guy is literally talking about 2016, his rookie year. at home against a Packers defense that was giving up over 400 yards per game, playing third string scrubs at DB. going into the playoffs and Dak was getting carried by Zeke, and an all-pro line at pretty much every position on it, and Dez who had like over 150 yards on broken form coverages and BTW, you Dak stans “got rid of him”.. and the Dallas offense scored 0 points in the third, was down 21-13 by the half and was losing 28-13 going into the 4th because Dak threw an INT.

I meant carried them this year. Dak delivered those year’s although faltered in the playoff. Still a dysfunctional organization those years too.
Cooper Rush, a noodle arm backup. was 5-1 with those same teams.. how was that dysfunctional when these players around Dak were all pros, meaning the GMs brought them there.

How often did Dak beat good teams?

Isn't the Church of Dak embarrassed that they have fallen so LOW to debate if Dak is better than a 2 million $ backup QB?
They should compare Dak to Mahomes, Allen, Herbert, and Burrows QB who are making 55 million +, not the back up QB.
DESPERATE Times at the Church of Daktrash!!!!

We basically saw Dak this year if he was drafted as a first round QB, with the purpose of trying to resurrect the franchise. He wouldn’t have lasted…

Daktrash scored 13 points in the 1st 3 Quarters in our playoff loss vs the Packers.
His prevent defense 4th Q shenanigans made their appearance and have never stopped till this day......while the Cowboys lose again.

What would be any different? When has Jerry proved he can build a SB team around a QB? He couldn't do it with back to back All-Pro QB's on cheap contracts and he cant do it with a 1st rd QB.

Never should've given Dak that horrendous contract last year. Dallas could've had a top-5 pick next Summer with the opportunity to draft Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward + a boatload of cap space to spend in Free Agency to go after the best Free Agent WR in Tee Higgins and other Free Agents that could've filled the Manny hoes on this roster.

This team is going absolutely nowhere with injury-prone, 32 year-old Dak Prescott at the helm taking up all that cap space. Jerry Jones and his family are beyond incompetent. This franchise is a sinking ship so long as they're running the show. Depressing.

We can still do that ....... bench Dak and he will beg for a trade.
I agree and was saying that last spring.if we didn't sign him and benched him this year we probably could have got something for him before the trade deadline and have him of the books in 2026.

I was also for cutting him in March and he would have been off the books in 2025.

We and the rest of the team (which is why they have given up) are at these guys' mercy( see below) when it pertains to the Star's fate.

How do you work that out? Armstrong and Biadascz would be gone, CeeDee was extended anyway and Micah's not due....and Lance would be, where he should be, on the field trying to win the QB1 position in 2025.
Dak would be looking for a contract in March .....obviously Jerry would have extended him (on more money)....but there's a fair few fans that believe Jerry and Dak deserve one another.
Because they like their guys if they can afford them. This notion they would have all this money to spend on free agents is silly.

What I imagine is a Chicago 2.0 where they draft some new QB and that QB gets destroyed because they don't have the pieces around that QB to succeed. Romo and Dak were able to at least make watching the Cowboys manageable and give us hope despite all the dysfunction and we lucked out on finding them.

The timing of it hours before the Cleveland game? Like what?! Now we’re strapped to him and this is also with what is a 6-8 injury. He can’t even ride a bike for the next two months at minimum. The hamstring tore completely off the pelvic muscle!
Now that he has a spectacular contract I imagine he’d be fine going to almost any other team. He probably is comfortable with the fact he can say no to a team he’d prefer not to go to, but few teams in the NFL are as bad as Dallas. How many would look less attractive. He got his money, nothing to lose by moving on.

His agent has done a really good job for him.

For me, I'd only draft a QB if I loved the prospect.

Otherwise, I'd prefer not to repeat the Romo to Dak transition.

In order to take advantage of a rookie QB deal, you can't still be paying the previous QB.

It's better to rack up a plethora of picks to gear up for the next window. (Just my opinion)
I'm looking at Denver. If the Cowboys eat the 90M Dak is set to count against the cap in 2025, His contract becomes more palatable for a trade in 2026.... assuming comes back and plays effectively. I think Dak would be open to a trade if he's told the starting QB is going to be someone else.

This is all pie in the sky. I know. The most likely scenario is that Jerry is going to restructure Dak and draft the Boise State rb.

I agree. The smart thing to do is to eat as much of the Dak contract as possible for 2025. If you wanted to move on after that it gives you the ability to do so. And if you dont want to move on your cap situation for 2026/2027 looks a lot better even with other upcoming mega deals.
