Then it's time for the media and fans to stop this "America's Team " hype and stop putting us in so many prime time spots.

If there's no longer an EXPECTATION that we should be winning championships, stop feeding into it and cultivating it

It can't be both

At face value OP thinks he has a point but when you break it down, he really doesn’t. So let’s look at this. Of the 12 that have never won, you only have one team that is a perennial winner (Vikings). But even the Vikings have multiple NFCCG appearances since Dallas last appeared.

The others are either the who’s who of losing franchises in NFL history (Falcons*+, Cardinals*+, Bengals*+, Lions+, Chargers+, Titans*+, Bills+)

Or the most recent expansion teams (Panthers*+, Browns, Texans, Jags+).

Of those 12, 6* have made it to the Super Bowl at least once and only 2+ have NOT made it to their conference championship game at least once since Dallas last did.

Then you have 6 teams that have won the SB but have longer droughts than Dallas. Of those, 4 (Jets+, Raiders*+, Bears*+, Commanders) have been total dumpster fires of organizations of the last 30+ years. Even so, only the Commanders don’t have a SB* or CCG+ appearance since Dallas last did.

You have the 49ers who since Dallas last won the SB has 3 SB appearances and 8 NFCCG appearances.

Which leads to the only fanbase that has a bigger right to complain than Dallas: The Miami Dolphins. Their gripes are about 11 years longer than ours.
Actually I made my point and a very good one, but you my friend also made a point for me, LOL, you show exactly what I'm talking about with the fan bases SmH.

I'm not happy that we have not made it to the NFCCG, or the SB. But I'm good with the success we continue to have while we continue to make it to that game and into the SB, and winning the SB once we are there. People may not see us as being successful even though we have successful regular seasons, but it is success, as most people don't want to admit, but they know regardless of their hope and wishes teams have their cycle they will win but their time will come when they will fall back ad hopefully they don't fall off too bad (New England) is back where they were when I was growing up, Kansas City will rejoin them soon.
Unfortunately, I think most teams have to have at least one completely crap season, in order to get the kind of draft that builds a SB team. The winning-ish seasons we've had keep us low on the draft board, keeping us out of reach of the most promising QBs and such.

You want another example? What did bringing Zeke back accomplish? Zeke is about as washed up and mediocre as they come, but there were members here who were excited to see him return. That's defending mediocrity.

Signing Derrick Henry would have shown the team was serious about shedding the mediocre label, but Dallas fans get Zeke instead. Go Cowboys !
Yes! And it does suck as a life long fan. We all know in the next couple weeks teams that are right there like Lions, 49ers, Ravens, Eagles, Vikings, and even the Chiefs are going to try to find that missing piece or two. We will do nothing and as fans we just accept mediocre. Not sure your age but Jerry completely forgot about Sanders and Hayley. Two of the bast players at their position.

Nah, everything you stated we earned all that!!! We earned the moniker AMERICA's TEAM and all the hype that comes with that , prime spots expectation etc. We should be expecting to win Championships every fan base should, but also understand that it is a game and most times the team that plays better that day may win depending on a lot of factors, because the. people involved with the actual games are not perfect, so you win some and you lose some, but you want to win more than you lose, in my opinion, with that being said I rather rack up all the wins we can while we work through all whatever is going on until we add more trophies

Yes you are correct all the other fan bases still buy tickets still fill up seats still buy new gear and still follow their teams regardless of playoff success or lack of Super Bowl runs and they probably complain a lot less than the Cowboys fans because somehow over 28 years apparently they think the Cowboys have become a average team and an embarrassment and ran by a clown show but somehow they don't give up coming in and complaining versus give up your support just totally disappear why do fans come here alleged fans and complain everyday if they think this is it and Jerry's never leaving and even if Jerry does leave now we have the rest of the Jones family inherit this team nothing's gonna change and yet they still make sure they go out of their way on a daily basis and troll every single forum and social media outlet with the Cowboys name on it which is kind of a special use of your time or is it a waste of time they use this place for therapy it seems like you completely unhappy but you come in and post anyway...

I think it was Bum Phillips who once said back in the 1970's that the Houston Oilers were gonna kick the damn door down. Jerry won't even step in the front yard.

Or he cry, complain, be bitter and pout....does that work better? Let me know, if been having a little trouble sleeping, lately.
Oh no that's that's the point I think they use this place to vent and other social medias that have the Dallas Cowboys name attached to it and spend a lot of time venting for therapy.. We should charge them the going rate for online therapy sessions..lol there should be a hotline that they have to pay to do this lol
.
Maybe the mods can put a special part of the site that's pay only so you're only allowed to complain about the same thing over and over in that spot where you have to sign in and pay for your therapy of being a Dallas cowboy fan even though you have a choice you could just delete your account and move on but no they like to troll and yes I'm calling it trolling because all they do is come to everything associated with the Dallas Cowboys as if they're like eagles fans and just complain 24/7/365

pack some tickets so far that they hope for losses they want this franchise to fail so Jerry gets embarrassed and possibly retires anybody who wishes their team loses so they can make a point or be right about the offseason is definitely not a fan... I mean you remember just a couple of games ago talking about they should fire everyone and start tanking now I mean that is the type of stuff a regular fan is not gonna sit around and put up with...

No one likes it or defends it imo. Just facing the reality of this situation we’ve chosen to be in.
Laugh it off, some of these Yahoos argue for fun, just to mess around, like I do....but, some actually think all their bitterness is gonna make a difference. Kinda sad, when you think about it...finding negatives in everything and don't even allow themselves to enjoy a win. Better them than me. Go Cowboys!! BTW..I have 3 sets of genius imitation SB rings....love them. Gonna put a set as my avatar!

As long as they're still the #1 in revenue, the title stands. I'm not a fan of the nickname either, but majority rules.

Yea, I agree with that, but some thought he was still good. To think fans want mediocrity is weird. Maybe you’re too caught up and need to step back for a while?

Fans want their team to be good. They may have different ideas on how to get there than you. It’s pretty normal.

Make sense?
I didn't say fans want mediocrity. I said that fans getting excited about Zeke coming back is the same as accepting mediocrity. There's a difference, you know.

ok let's look at all the so call promising QBs. how many has been busts? oh there's a list of them and it's long. but let's look at all the ones now that the so call media experts and the know it all fans, let's look, wait but first let's take a promising QB and put not a good OL in front of him, that promising RB, uh promising WRs, TE, what do you have "Derek Carr".
Now back to what I was originally about to state, all these people that have all these Promising QBs, Jacksonville, Baltimore, Cinci, Chargers, Eagles, Miami, Packers,Steelers, Cardinals, Who else, I know I am leaving out some, anyway what have they done? their stats/numbers are below our QB, the only QB that has equal numbers/stats to our is Mahomes and with his teammates help he has the rings, congratulations to his team for helping him out in the games they need to win to get those rings, they didn't let him down therefore he was able to come through to do his job to help them win, other than the rings (which is big) he's on par with Dak.

Here's my big thing about our fan base, they are willfully being ignorant, and in my opinion that's worse than being ignorant! I know a lot of them just sit back and watch the game, some don't even really watch the game they are too busy eating and drinking, then passing out, focusing on the negative things when the positive things that happens far out weigh the negative omg don't let us lose then the negative things really get overblown!!
I believe a large majority of our fan base is what I call highlight ESPN fans, they want to see only the big plays, runs, passes, catches, tackles, sacks, they could care less about the all the other things that has to happen to be successful on every play

There are 6 teams that have not won a Superbowl in 28yrs or more, starting with the 49ers it’s been 28yrs for them, 27 for us.
There are 12 teams that has never won a Superbowl.
but SF has been to two superbowls. if your don't get there, you never have a chance to win it.
and how many teams have not even been to the CCG? if you don't get there, you don't have a chance to play in superbowl.

At the end of the day, all fanbases are the same, just like real life, you have negative people and positive people. Some call them haters and homers...at the end of the day, we all want to win, hate the losing, disagree with the FO and other fans. It's all part of being a fan, the same with any other team and sport. We all do it our way. You watch at a bar, talk crap and cheer....hey! Have a great time
...Salud! Sports are meant to be enjoyed. You want to be critical before, during, after the game and watch the replay 5 times like your input can make a difference? Hey! Have a great time, sports are meant to be enjoyed. Enjoy it your way.

Well this is very true, I think people that are very over the top don't have to bring up the same narrative over and over and over as if we don't remember as if we don't have all the information and data from the last 30 years....

that's the problem this is constantly bringing up the same narratives , we don't need to hear it again we all know we all have the same information ; don't need to keep on every thread bringing up the bad games the bad times and the drought, we get it we're here in the now, we're in the know...

that's what I get tired of, look it's not about being negative or positive it's bringing up the same thing daily on every thread it's like they have a place to go copy and paste it from on and make sure they add it on every thread or post...

We don't all need to remind you of our quarterbacks record in the playoffs, this one, the last one, we don't need to debate between this one and the last one,

because most of us are going to respond with well what kind of teams did our Super Bowl winning quarterbacks have ? what were their teams and coaching Staffs made of that our current 28 years wasn't we don't need to hear about the last 28 years, because we remember ,and then we're all we're going to respond is look around at other teams we're goanna bring up all the other droughts ,and all the other problems,

we don't need to be reminded that Jerry Jones is not a big player in free agency, and that most of the offseason is going to look odd, but then we're going to bring up that even after those historically bad off seasons is the way they coin this on almost every year we hear the same thing and almost every year now for three years we won 12 games and been to the playoffs ,we've been in the playoffs 5 out of the last 8 years ,that is going to be our responses so we're just going to go around and round loop because we all know the same things we have the same information..

So let's discuss the games the players and things that are going on in the now and whatever is happening this week because the rest of it we're just going to disagree on anyway and bring up the same exact facts again we can go somewhere and copy and bring it back over here and paste it because it's going to be the same stuff over and over weekly and yearly and over decades we've heard this whether it was here or on the official site or whether it's on social media outlets..

Mediocrity my friend, Mediocrity. The fan base not only loves it, they defend it.

What else isnt the OP adding to the argument, why "Dallas hasnt been relevant in all that time" "But the playoffs"? they will argue, "sure sure, a few one and dones, but who takes tahte serious besides our fans?" no one, dats who. Who respects a team that hits the bottom of relevancy? Only our fans who defend mediocrity and havent known we used to have high standards.

Riddle me this Bat OP, name another franchise to fire not 1 SB winning head coach, not 2, but 3?
Not many franchises had 3 SB winning coaches. Tough to fire guys who don't exist.
