In my opinion, the final four prospects for the Cowboys (if they stay at #22)

1. Brandon Merriweather
2. Anthony Spencer
3. Aaron Ross
4. Chris Houston

Write it down. One of these players will be a Cowboy by the end of Saturday. How would you rank these four players?

This may very well be the single worst draft prediction I have ever had the misfortune of reading

The only player you listed who even has the SLIGHTEST possibility of being a Cowboy is Houston. Put down the pipe and get some help, dude.

  4. Merriweather:bow:
But I wouldn't pick any of them if I were Jerry and the the gang if Bowe were there. :D

I am not interested in Ross. IMO there are several guys I would be happy with at 22.

Merriewether
R. Nelson
Revis (probably long gone)
Branch (probably gone as well)
Ginn
Jarrett
Bowe
Grubbs
Houston

I would be fine with any of these guys. Only Grubbs would leave me a little doubt because of his position he plays.

I would only look into trading up for AP. I don't think it will be doable but he is the only guy who would peak my interest in forfeiting picks for.

I also am hesitant in trading back. Jerry has proven over and over that he isn't good at this. He gets too cute and makes too many mistakes. Any of the guys will probably be very solid players....despite what they might or might have not shown in the Dork Olympics.

My choose at 22....give me Merriewether.

Why do some people on this forum feel the need to put down people? If you read the title of this forum very slowly, it says IN MY OPINION dude. You need to settle. BTW, Jerry Jones basically ruled out picking a WR in round 1 because a WR wouldn't have a chance to compete for a starting position. That leaves us with...

1. Safety
2. Cornerback
3. Linebacker (pass-rushing specialist)

You name me another position Dallas would actually consider in round 1 (with the exception of Alan Branch falling to #22), heavyhitta31,

Not true. Whatever you may think of his list, all of those guys are solid candidates to go around 22. More than likely, all will be first round picks and some may be gone by 22.

HH what are you talking about? WHere have you been lately? THe 2 most common names that have been linked to the dallas cowboys lately have been Meriweather and Spencer. Now I agree 22 may be a little reach for spencer...however, at 22 Meriweather imo is who we are targeting.

I know this, however, you clearly missed my point. Dallas WILL not be draft Ross or Merriweather, as there will likely be better prospects at both safety and corner than those two when Dallas picks.

Dallas also won't pick an OLB for the 3rd straight year

You might be right, but I will hold off on absolutes. To say anything with such certainty is a bad assumption imo.

It wouldn't shock me to see Merriwether as the highest rated prospect on Dallas' board when we get to 22.

Jerry Jones also said Dallas wasnt going to trade down in 2003 and wasnt going to sign TO last year

Dallas WILL consider a WR in round one, to think otherwise is simply ignorant. Jerry Jones' word is as realiable as a twelve year old maxipad.

Nelson
Bowe
Ginn
Branch (If he fell)
Willis (If he fell)
Meachem

Dallas is far more likely to pick someone from that group than anyoen on your list

In case you did not know HH there will not be a better prospect at the S position when the cowboys select at 22......The only safety in this draft that is better than Meriweather is Landry....and Landry will be gone within the top 10.....so when the cowboys pick at 22...Meriweather WILL be the best S available...

that's funny, since your reply was probably worse, as Spencer and Merriweather have been contacted by Dallas, and Ross was brought in for a workout, and Jerry Jones, just the other day, spoke very highly of Merriweather

So who's your 1st round pick?

Taking all things into consideration, I'd prefer:

1: Patrick Willis (Dream, I know, but only three teams between #12 and #22 have a need at MLB. It's not likely, but neither was Stephen Jackson or Aaron Rodgers)

2: Ted Ginn Jr. (If for no other reaosn than he is a guranteed 2-3 scores on special teams alone and would immediatly be one of the most feared players in the open field in the league)

3: Reggie Nelson (He's the ballhawk that we don't have)

Your list is ridiculous. Patrick Willis won't make it past #12 and I believe Nelson is going to JAX at #17. I also think Ginn Jr. will be gone by the time Dallas picks. Branch was on my list as well. We disagree on WR which is fine but I think Jerry has changed a great deal since Parcells got here. He sounded serious throughout the whole press conference.

Oakland has contacted Brady Quinn and Gaines Adams, are they likley to pick either?
