In my opinion, the final four prospects for the Cowboys (if they stay at #22)

Yes, they are. His low score on the Wonderlic and his grades in college are the prime reason people are questioning his intelligence. Do try to keep up.

good job, that is true, I thought they were questioning his intelligence on the field until I looked up his profile on NFLDraftScout

one thing I like about Merriweather is that he would bring a swagger to the defense. He's a leader and that's something we've been missing ever since Woody retired.

OK...HH...you go find me a legit draft analysis that indicates that nelson can double up and play corner and I will throw up the white flag and concede this argument to you....because from everything I have heard...NFLN, on the nfldraftcountdown forum, and from ESPN is that it is clear to everyone that Nelson CANNOT double up and play corner in the NFL.

http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/s/reggienelson.html

A standout JUCO transfer from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College...Some feel he may also be able to play cornerback at the next level...Coming off a fantastic junior campaign where he was a finalist for a number of national awards...Classic centerfielder...Very similar in many ways to Michael Huff but not quite as good of a prospect...Fast-riser who is a lock to be one of the first defensive backs chosen.

Bye

now look up Merriweather's profile and you'll see that he too fits what Dallas is trying to do at S

I never disputed Merriweather's cover skills, though. He IS good in coverage.

you said Nelson fits what we're trying to do better than Merriweather, though

which isn't true since their scouting reports are mirror images

lol...some FEEL he MAY be able to double up and play CB at the next level...there is NO question Meriweather can double up and play the slot WR in the pros....

Scouting reports can tell you basic stuff about a player, like both are good in coverage. What they can't tell you is that Nelson had 5 more INTs than Meriweather and that he was, literally, in the frame damn near every pass that was thrown against Florida.

The amount of ground he covers in open space and his ability to read QBs is superior to Meriweather, or at least was in college

lets say Dallas is deciding between Nelson and Merriweather at #22. All Dallas can do is take the information they have about both players and make the best decision possible. Lets see. Both are great in coverage. Both may be able to play CB in the NFL, although Merriweather looks more the part, and Merriweather is a much more smarter player than Nelson on and off the field. Merriweather has minor character issues and teams have said they were impressed with his interviews at the combine.

I'm going by what I saw as an avid college football fan. Merriweather is a more feared player, but Nelson made more game-changing plays

ok, Nelson made more plays, that doesn't mean he's much more instinctive, covers much more ground and is much better in coverage, and Weddle made more INTs than any of the top rated safeties in this draft, guess he should be the 1st safety chosen then because the best at reading the QB right?

if you honestly think that reggie nelson has the same or better ability to play the slot receiver in the pros then I do not know what to tell you...IMO their play at the safety position is comprable....even if Nelson was slightly better at FS...the fact that i KNOW meriweather can play the slot receiver much better imo gives him the edge over nelson...if you dont understand that....i duno what to tell u
