In my opinion, the final four prospects for the Cowboys (if they stay at #22)

There is not enough difference in Landry, Nelson and Meriweather to separate them with on the field performance. Sure you can quote ints, yada, yada but they are all highly regarded play wise. Landry has had no problems and is faster. Hence he's above them. Meriweather has character questions which puts him below the others including Ross as far as draft number. All the draft posturing is quasi-scientific or objective.

Personally I wouldn't get all worked up over them until three years have passed. They'll all get drafted in the top 50 unless another gun is pulled, a drug test is failed or someone gets arrested.

I've seen Nelson and Meriweather and both are very good and deserving of a first round pick IMO. I'm sure most everyone isn't wrong and Landry and Ross deserve to go in the first as well.

If we pick one we'll be happy unless a character issue comes up. All can cover well but none has set foot on a NFL field. So I'll reserve final judgment three years hence.

Based on everything I've seen, read and heard esp Jerry's statements about Meriweather, I'd say we take him near or below 22.

If we trade up or down more then all bets are off. But it's just a guess and I'm not taking myself or anyone else seriously. It's just fun and I'm addicted to the board. Otherwise it means nothing.

1. Brandon Merriweather
2. Anthony Spencer
3. Aaron Ross
4. Chris Houston

Write it down. One of these players will be a Cowboy by the end of Saturday. How would you rank these four players?

Each have their alure of dazzling talent.

But aside from Merriweather, who might have social problems and thus may be persona au gratin at the ranch, I can't see the others as credible contenders, if the Cowboys stay at 22.
Yes, we meet again my friend. Next time I will have my revenge!

i've heard philly is very interested in Merriweather..anybody hear this as well??

Yep. Heard that months ago. I figure on draft day they'll trade up ahead of Dallas, probably with Denver, and snatch him before Dallas has any opportunity.

I've seen mocks that have him going to either them or New England. If the Pats traded up to get him it wouldn't shock me either. He'll be a Pro Bowler where-ever he ends up.

btw, I think Weddle is the most instinctive safety in this class

I don't think we need a safety but I wouldn't be upset if we drafted Weddle (or Merriweather) just not in the first (for Weddle).

And I don't think it's necessarily instincts that make him good, I think it's preparation (which I guess helps a player play off his instincts).

whatever it is, Weddle knows his way around the football field
