It's sort of the peak of immaturity to feel personally offended if someone doesn't like something the exact same as you to the point that you attack with petty little comments like "Go find another team," especially if you're only criticizing one aspect of it. I used to be that way, but I grew out of it.I understand. You're looking for a different team to root for, right?
J/K, I'd just stop watching football altogether before I'd switch teams. That said, I imagine that the people who say these things are saying it out of hurt, that their team is playing poorly, and/or insulted that someone who rags on the team is, in a roundabout way, ragging on them personally, because they're so invested.
the old I played I watched film, blah blah blah, who cares either wayI think you have the wrong guy, tough??? Personal????
Yeah, I grew out of throwing my remote at the TV! Ah another better then you fan telling everyone how to be a fan. You do you and let everyone else be them ok? So condescendingWhen fans become so miserable and angry with the state of the Cowboys that they’re pulling against the team and it’s affecting their every day life, it’s time to move on from the Cowboys. Either find another NFL team you enjoy watching or stick with college football or just stop watching football altogether. It’s gotten so bad for some fans that they take out their frustrations not only with fans online, but with their families. Everything about the current state of the Cowboys is making them miserable. They hate the QB and the owner. I get as frustrated as most fans with the Joneses and how the Cowboys peform but it has no affect on my every day life.
I still enjoy watching the other games. Some fans are so wrapped up with the Cowboys that if they’re having a bad year, it ruins their interest in the entire league. They won’t even watch the playoffs or Super Bowl. Their whole world revolves around the Cowboys and when it’s not going well for the team, their lives become a living hell. Lol Fans like that need to take up golf or go fishing on Sundays. I have a lot better things to do than spend time online bellyaching about an owner of a football team and a QB. I come here for enjoyment not to vent my frustrations.
It's not even worth legitimizing those who say that. Chances are, they only utter that phrase when they don't have a defense for the team looking like crap when others point out that at least some of the crap was preventable. So then that line becomes their go-to for trying to exit the conversation stage left.Over the last week, many of us here on the Zone have heard something like this a number of times: “If you don’t like how the Cowboys are run, just go to another team. It’s Jerry’s right as owner to do whatever he wants, and if you don’t like it, leave”. I would like to address this idea.
What is often overlooked in this genre of response to our frustration is that people are not fans of a team for logical reasons. We are not choosing our football team like we would if we were buying a commodity which is the same everywhere you get it. We are emotionally aligned with our team for a number of reasons.
I, and many of us here on the zone, follow the Cowboys because of what they represented in their past. At their best they are quintessentially American. For those of us from North Texas and the surrounding states, the Cowboys are also part of our culture.
My grandmother who lives in the tiny Oklahoma town where Troy Aikman was raised brought me to the Dallas Cowboys. It is quite simply a part of me. I cannot just up and leave and neither can most of us here. The Cowboys are family for many of us and preserve the memories of those long gone who also rode with the star. I’m sure many here have similar stories.
So no, we cannot just go find another team.
What they have become and how this organization is managed is nothing we can be proud to associate with. What it has come to represent in its modern form is disgusting. It is deeply painful to see the franchise we love and its storied history be cheapened and erased by decades of nothing short of a circus directed by a man who cares for nothing but himself.
Do you understand now?
No one is telling anyone how to be a fan. There’s a big difference between posting a suggestion and telling someone what to do but you obviously don’t get that. If some fans like coming here to vent their frustrations and have a bunch of shoulders to cry on that’s fine with me.Ah another better then you fan telling everyone how to be a fan. You do you and let everyone else be them ok? So condescending
lol, I never actually threw the remote, no matter how much I wanted to.Yeah, I grew out of throwing my remote at the TV! Lol

Criticism of poor English teachers is warranted. You dont tell others how to be a fan. Criticism of a terrible owner gm and team is warranted.
Nice deflectionCriticism of poor English teachers is warranted.
Agreed. Much the way someone claims, "They cheated!", every single time they lose. Because it's inconceivable that they could lose fair and square. It's sort of the peak of immaturity to feel personally offended if someone doesn't like something the exact same as you to the point that you attack with petty little comments like "Go find another team," especially if you're only criticizing one aspect of it. Wish I could say that. Then I wouldn't have had to go out and buy a new TV when the remote bounced. Lollol, I never actually threw the remote, no matter how much I wanted to.
I'll sometimes read his posts, if it's only 2 or 3 sentences worth of words. It's usually not too hard to figure out where the punctuation should be.Now you know how we feel.
Hey-yo!
