Dez, like Calvin Johnson, is an EVERYTHING guy.
He is big, fast and can catch.
He has been top 10 in receiving TDs the prior 4 seasons and was 1st by a good margin in 2014.
He is 24th in active yard per reception.
He has return TDs.

All of that can be done without being a speed guy. Dez is not a speed guy. You can keep arguing with yourself but he's not. He's never been and never going to be a take the top off the defense guy. That is not to say he isn't fast at all, but he is not a "speed" guy.

I posted actual factual data. PERIOD.

You are literally arguing with actual stats and historic record.
If you have an actual argument, make it. I'll likely refute it fairly easily but I made zero arguments here.
I merely presented facts.

You posted historical data that no one is even arguing against. Worthless and not pertinent to the discussion. I didn't even argue it. You make up arguments in your head and then fight about them. It's your thing.

And yet, right above is you responding to it and arguing with it.
good job, good effort.

You love posting goofy things.
Dez has been double teamed since his 2nd year in the league.
That literally is taking the top off a defense.

I actually played safety... when you slide over to cheat to Dez... guess where you aren't? Deep middle.. i.e. the top.

How many big plays has TWill made deep based on Safeties not being there? A lot!

No, there isn't.

You made up this sub 4.4 argument that no one else even mentioned. You just pulled up a number and pounced to defend it. The only thing I said in regards to it was that sub 4.4 speed is considered elite, but you don't have to run a sub 4.4 to be a speed guy. In the scouts eyes and most fans, there is signficant difference in a 4.4 and a 4.5.

As I already said, I am not saying Treadwell isn't fast and couldn't be successful. I don't have an agenda.

You're arguing just to argue.

So Gronkowski is a take the top off the defense, speed guy? That's why he gets double teamed? No, that's not why.

As someone who supposedly played safety, I expect a little more knowledge. I played corner, safety and receiver. When you double team a guy, it's not just to keep from getting beat deep, it's to take the option of throwing to that receiver completely away. You bracket him to make the windows smaller and get the QB to look elsewhere. In the case of Dez Bryant, you also keep a safety over the top because he breaks tackles so consistently and is so good after the catch.

Dez Bryant is a phenomenal and dynamic receiver. He is definitely a big play threat every time he touches the ball. He is not, however, a speed guy.

Exactly what I said. The guy is no stretch the field burner. He would be a poor mans version of Dez Bryant. If this offense needs something at the WR position, its a burner.

Williams, Butler and Lucky not fast enough?!

Are you calling treadwell the next Jerry Rice or Michael Irvin? Give me a break. He is the #1 rated WR in an otherwise bad WR draft, nothing more. And as a compliment to Dez Bryant, he is a bad choice.

To me he is about as good as Michael Crabtree. Big strong sure handed WR with little explosion. 70 catch 900 yard guy in the NFL. Not an elite prospect IMO

I said this months ago, he's not going to run very fast just like anquon boldin didn't and he dropped into the second round. However, both are still big time players and someone will get a steal. Put on the game tape.

Exactly. Heck if he was there towards end of first, I'm trading up

Can't believe some of you think Braxton Miller will last until the 3rd.

Wait, what? Next you are going to tell me that Carson Wentz will not be there in the second round.

Receiving Yards by Rookies 2015

1. Amari Cooper WR, Oakland Raiders – 1070 --drafted 4th. 4.42 40.
2. Stefon Diggs WR, Minnesota Vikings – 827 --5th round. 4.46 40.
3. Tyler Lockett WR, Seattle Seahawks – 664 --3rd round. 4.40
4. Jamison Crowder WR, Washington Commanders – 597-- 4th round. 4.56
5. Duke Johnson RB
6. Dorial Green Beckham WR, Tennessee Titans – 527 --pick 40. 4.49
7. Devin Funchess WR, Carolina Panthers – 472 --pick 41. 4.70
8. Will Tye TE
9. Devante Parker WR, Miami Dolphins – 414 --pick 14. 4.45
10. David Johnson RB

Of the 7 WR in the top 10 rookies by yardage receiving, 0 players ran a sub 4.4 even tho there were 4 WRs at the combine who did. This means not one rookie in the top 10 in receiving yards last year ran faster than Lucky Whitehead.

WR is a skill position.
Being a 4.3 WR is no more helpful than being a 4.3 QB unless you have the other requisite skills.

Below 4.5 40 is considered decent. 4.40-4.45 is fast. 4.3's super fast

4.6-4.9 slow for receiver.

He won't even be there at #1 overall.

He's too good to be tied down to a contract. He's just going to freelance between teams and go where he's needed most that week. Not all heroes wear capes.
