I think Dez is very talented but it's been proven in this league you don't need some big time dominating WR to be successful. It's a nice weapon to have but it's not necessary. They still have Tyron Smith to worry about as well. Decisions will have to be made.

It feels there is just something missing with Dez at times. The talent and potential is there but I'm not fully satisfied.

I think 14mill is way too high.

This is precisely why following players on Twitter and drawing conclusions might not be the best idea.

Sometimes it is just stream of consciousness.

I was just having this conversation yesterday after his interview. I was telling my brother I hope JJ and company don't screw this up. I can see it coming though. I just can't imagine JJ saying anything about Dez not being a top 5 WR in the game or not paying him like one which he's obviously deserves. I hope this isn't something that carries over and becomes a distraction.

Bryant is absolutely the face of this franchise. I don't think this organization is stupid enough to let him walk because they don't want to pay him what he deserves, but if they did I guarantee you it will be the final nail of alienating the younger generation of Cowboy fans. Bryant is the one player that gives us hope every Sunday because he's the one superstar who can take over a game that we have on this team, and he's just entering his prime.

But I'm not even gonna go further with this because there's no way Jerry is THAT stupid.

No one can hide behind the "I didn't mean it" Twitter excuse anymore. He said it and put it out there for the world to interpret. If he wants to negotiate thru the media, he has to expect backlash.

I would rather you say I don't want to pay you what you deserve instead of saying I'm not a top 5 wr in this league lol so disrespectful

That's Dez for you. I think he is trying to say that it's not all about money because I'm a top 5 receiver. He would rather not get paid but be a top 5 receiver in the NFL. His mind is not right right now. He want's to play some football.

But, he will cash a few checks.

I don't know about you but when I wake up on Sunday mornings before the Cowboys play the first person I think about on the team is Dez. It's always "Man I hope Dez has a beast of a game today".

I usually think of Romo if you are citing a player as I said.

I really truly believe Jerry is the real face of this team though. He's the guy. And I think that's just as he wants it.

Yeah, the "I don't want to pay you what you deserve" comment has nothing to do with what was said in the Bleacher Report article. Sounds like Dez took negotiations public and his agent found him a convenient excuse to use for damage control.

Not at all. Did you watch the video where Jason Cole Repeats that he believes the Cowboys think he's not a top 5 WR multiple times. The article (blurb) raises the question "The talk of an extension raises the question: Is Bryant a top-five wide receiver in the NFL?" and the video goes on to say "no". So it's all about the article. If you choose to believe that Jason Cole has knowledge of what the Cowboys are thinking, then that's a different story.

SMH... Jerry's bad contracts have come back to haunt him. This guy I have no doubts about however.

do i like dez? you bet. but i need to see some clutch performances from him like i see from tony. where you're down and boom, he shows up. dez has had too many games where he disappears that bothers me.

Yeah, I think Dez's tweet is definitely in response to the article. That doesn't make it a good idea for Dez to do, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't doing it in because of anything the team has said.

There is absolutely no way the Cowboys let Dez go anywhere else. The guy is one of the most dynamic players in the most popular league in the whole nation. He is Michael Irvin 2.0... only he's more physically talented than Irvin ever was. He's a team player, he loves football, and he hasn't even reached his prime yet.

Dallas isn't going to let him go anywhere. Anyone who is even remotely worried about Dez leaving doesn't really understand the NFL... and they understand Jerry Jones even less than that.

There is plenty for Dallas fans to worry about, but Dez ever wearing another uniform isn't one of them.

Again, that still has nothing to do with the first part of Dez's statement. "I would rather you say I don't want to pay you what you deserve." Obviously Jason Cole is not paying Dez Bryant money for anything, so why would that possibly be directed towards him? That's even ignoring the whole point of Dez's tweet, where he is obviously calling someone out for saying one thing and meaning another. Jason Cole said the one thing he meant, so again, how could that possibly apply to him?

Who really cares?
Dez can't do anything or go elsewhere for at least 2 years.
By then we've either won something and will pay him, or we still stink and it really doesn't matter if we keep him or replace him.

I seen a rumor reported by ESPN not Dallas didn't want to pay him top 5 money because he's not a top 5 WR, something to that effect.

Lets see Megatron, AJ Green. Arguably.

Maybe Julio Jones, Andre Johnson, Fitzpatrick, Crabtree., but I dont think I would put any of these over Dez. Probably forgetting a few good ones here or there.

Name 5 better receivers than Dez. I cant off the top of my head and would make a case that you cant name 5 sure fire, unequivocally better than Dez. Course Jones just has to make a case of arguably better. But in truth, I dont know if there are 5 for sure better receivers in the NFL today.

No argument with Calvin over Dez. AJ Green is better now I think but it's very close. Julio Jones is the next guy then it's a drop off.
