LOL at you basing your opinion solely on stats, name 20 qbs better than JC right now

Look troll: your QB and your franchise are inferior to our's, so you ought to go back to that laughingstock message board at ES and bugger off. You are just going to end up looking like a tool like all the other ES flunkies that come here.

JC is in the bottom half of the league. You can laugh all you want and claim otherwise. But do so on your own board instead of wasting our time here. Be proud all you want of your non-special, bottom-half-of-league short term QB.

Silverbear at least have stats to support his comment. You, on the other hand, has nothing but opinion. Silverbear has hell of lot more credibility than you.

Just for the fun of it, these QBs are better than JC right now:

Brady
Manning
Romo (by miles upon miles)
Favre
Roethlisberger
Anderson
Garrard
Manning
Anderson
Hasselbeck
Kitna
Garcia
Bulger
Brees
Palmer
Shaub
Cutler

There's at least half the league that's better than him.

And here's the thing: that was his best game and he still lost. You can be guarenteed that he won't have anything like that next week due to his inconsistency. But I'm sure we won't here from the troll next week...

I don't know if anything can be said for sure about a QB who has played a total of 16 games in his career. I think too many are writing Campbell off too soon in his career.

I'm not writing him off as a capable NFL player.

What I am saying is that we have plenty of data to make the fundamental determination about whether he has "it" and is a special QB. He clearly isn't. And the intangible that shows a QB will be great will be seen early or it will never be there.

Even when Aikman struggled through his first season, you could see that he had something special. You could tell right away that Romo had something special. Same way with a lot of special QBs. That can be seen from very early on.

JC doesn't have it. JC might have a serviceable career (a la Plummer or Collins), but he isn't anything special and won't be a "franchise QB." Physical tools don't mean crap if you don't have the special intangibles.

Except he made critical, game-changing mistakes in both games... his numbers were OK but for those mistakes, but they both ended up in the "L" column...
Also, for all his great stats yesterday, all they scored were 2 TDs:starspin

I don't think you can say a QB does not have "it" after 16 games played in his career. I think more of this is your own dislike of the Commanders than being ojective.

Like yeah because they don't keep stats for poise and everyone knows that is all that matters.

Well, I disagree. I think you can tell very early on whether a QB has "it" or not.

Maybe you are not understanding what I am talking about.

I am not talking about whether a QB can be serviceable. Chad Pennington might be a good example of a serviceable QB.

I am talking about whether a QB is special and will be great. Brady, Manning, Favre... those are special QBs who are great. They all have "it." You could see that in Brady from the get-go after he replaced Bledsoe. You didn't need to see him play 4 years. Romo has "it." Jason Campbell does not.

You can tell from the outset whether a QB is going to special, and if you watch JC, he clearly does NOT have "it." He might be a serviceable QB or a good QB, but he clearly will not be a great QB or a franchise QB. The quality that leads one to be that way does not HIDE for this long.

I guess it depends on what you think IT is. I don't think all players or QB advance at the same pace. I also know QB's who people claimed to have it only to see that player fail down the line. What I see in Campbell is a young developing QB who should get better as he moves forward.

To use against Skins fans when they say "Gibbs is holding Jason back, he won't let him throw the ball"...

Thus far in his NFL career, Campbell has thrown more than 30 passes in 8 different games... the Skins are 0-8 in those games, averaging exactly 17 points per game... Campbell has completed 58.1 per cent of his passes in those games, for a rather lousy 6.0 yards per attempt... his quarterback rating in those games is 81.8...

Maybe Gibbs isn't so foolish after all... I know I wouldn't mind if he had Jason throw the ball 40 times a game the rest of the season... :D

Nailing JC for completion percentage doesn't necessarily tell you the whole story either, come on...What about dropped passes?...What about mediocre and overpaid receiving corps?...What about OLine?...A LOT of factors that can go into that.

And if we learned anything less yesterday about the skins, they make some poor gameplan decisions on offense (That falls on the coaches).

Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

I'm in no hurry to judge him, I'll give him and Manning, too, at least another year before deciding.

Heck, I hope NYG and Washington wait at least 5-6 more years before deciding whether they would be better off with someone else.

lol, the more you post the more i realize that probably the only time you watched JC play was yesterday. NO way you can say he was the reason they lost against PHilly

Did you forget about that fumble with like 2 and a half minutes to go in the game, deep in his own territory?? That led to the Iggles' final touchdown (a 10 yard run on the first play after the fumble was recovered)... then when the Skins got the ball back, he fumbled the center exchange on one play, which the Skins recovered... he was also 2 of 5 for 17 yards in that final possession...

Yes, he hurt his team BADLY in crunch time against the Iggles...

Stats are a reflection of the play on the field, if you know how to use them properly... unfortunately for you, I do...

But I'm basing my opinion on how the guy's played, as well as the stat... I've seen at least 90 per cent of the snaps he's taken in his 17 games as a starter, and the stats just confirm what I thought when I went looking at the numbers...

Meanwhile, I'm not exactly sure what you're basing YOUR opinion on... it seems to be wishful thinking, mostly...

Hey, I'm not saying he'll never be any good, I'm just saying that at this point, he's not there yet...

If pressed for a projection, I'll say that Jason Campbell's ceiling is to be a journeyman QB in the NFL... if you plug him into a good offense, he can do some things for you, but he'll never be playing in any Pro Bowls...
