Interesting QB Comparison for this week: Dak v. Wince

A total package of crap. He looks the part. However, playing QB in the league is more than looking the part. Chad Hutchinson looked the part. His pocket awareness needs a lot of work. His throwing mechanics are terrible. His accuracy is terrible. Carr had great footwork coming out of college and great touch on the ball. Carr also had great leadership skills. Philly will eat Wenz alive by game 3 next season.

He's completing 63% of his passes and has thrown 11 picks on the year.

He's a rookie and I don't know what kind of scale you are grading him on compared to other rookies but it's a bit ridiculous.

Carson Wentz has looked the part at times and that is what you want from a rookie QB. Show you can do it and he's already done that.

Next year will be about building consistency.

He jumped to the first round for good reason. He has every tool in the box that you're looking for with a QB. He'll get it figured out.

Will he ever be as good as Dak? I don't know and I wouldn't bet on it.

Would I still take him over Jared Goff or Paxton Lynch? Easily.

The guy is 6'6, mobile, rocket arm, smart, and a extremely hard worker. He is not going to bust. At worst he is a solid NFL QB.

He went from Div. 1 aa to the NFL and he's been extremely hot and extremely cold. Just a typical rookie year.

They are certainly playing in different situations. There is no doubt about that. But at the end of the day, Wentz has been terrible this season, yet people still obsess and gush over him based on little more than hypothetical could-be's.

Look, however you want to slice it, he has not played well for most of this season. And my point is I don't get the gushing over him at this current point. He may end up being a great QB, who knows, but based on this season alone, I don't get where the constant love affair is still coming from.

Well if you like to draw conclusions about a QB's future based on their rookie year than there wouldn't be many good ones.

He's having a typical Rookie year.

That's very true, but again, my point is I don't understand what the continued gushing is based on since he has been terrible for most of the season. I can understand taking a more wait and see approach, but he is still largely hailed as an amazing rookie QB. I'm not saying he should be given up on or that he won't be good, I just don't get the continued love affair.
