So now were supposed to hate Mike cuz he said something about Tony?

Just wanna make sure I'm in the right line with the rest of the sheep.

Until Tony wins a playoff game he's gonna be criticized for being a guy who can't get it done.
That isn't what anyone is saying. Hyperbole rarely works btw.

glass houses Mike, glass houses......

Look, those guys got it done. Doesn't matter what they did off the field, they got it done on it. Until Tony Romo and company get it done there, they will and should rightfully receive criticism.

It's hard to support that effort they displayed in lets say the Philly game, a team that goes out and does that is not beyond criticism even from it's own fans, people expect more from this team it's the NFL not little league there are no trophies for 16th place

I dont support that effort......but ...ummm that was 6 months ago.......
they get enough hate from the other teams fans and media that they should at least be appreciated at home.......get over it ...31 other teams lost games last year as well

Hahaha...

Until Romo wins in the playoffs, any tiny thing he does or doesn't do will be stupidly criticized.

It used to annoy me, but I've reached a point where I'd rather just laugh at those doing the criticizing.

"Why is Romo smiling so much all the time!?!? GET SERIOUS, TONY!"

Then when the constant smiling ceases...

"Stop moping so much, Tony!!! What happened to the care-free Tony who always had a smile on his face!?!?!"

It really is simply funny to me at this point.

I'm going to enjoy watching one of the 5 best QBs in football lead our team, but I'll be sure to keep taking time out every now and then to laugh at the idiots who rip him for absolutely no good reason.

Mike Irvin was on a local radio show......not sure what/when .....and stated that ROMO should not of said that he was going to be a more vocal leader this year since T.O. is gone........that ROMO should just play football.

Irvin believes that now he is a target.

Don't know all the details.....just sharing what was said on WOAI Sports San Antonio tonight.

What do you Zoners think?

Man, ROMO cannot catch a break......folks wanted him to be a leader.....he steps up and now he is critized.:starspin

ROMO is da man!

this is absoloutley horrific, i'm starting to hate the big three, they always have something negative to say. First you got emmitt " t.o needs to go" then bashes us. Then Irvin or roy " he cant handle the pressure", last but not least you got qb on qb mr aikman " tony should'nt been doin this or that or whatever" its crazy to me, way to be supportive. I wish they were reading this because I would tell them to go **** there selfs.

I think what Irvin is saying is "shut up and show me". You see, Irvin's game was a 3-step process. First he would tell you how he was going to kick your ***; then in step 2 he kicked your ***; and then in step 3 he gloated about how he just got done kicking your ***. These current cowboys have all but mastered step 1, but are nowhere near yet to proving themselves in step 2. So where Irvin is coming from is telling Romo to first go do step 2 before telling us about anything else. I kind of agree too. I'm tired of hearing how Romo can be a leader; I just want him to be one, once and for all.

Excellent analogy.

Some of those glass houses also provide refuge for numerous Super Bowl rings. Have we forgotten about those little trinkets that were once highly regarded? Obviously it takes ridiculous teamwork and incredible desire to obtain one of those. Until Romo leads our beloved team to the promise land those with rings will continue to offer their constructive criticism. This includes (but isn't limited to) Troy, Mike, Deion, Emmitt, etc etc...

I'll join you in avoiding the sheep herd. Let's forget all about Super Bowl rings for a moment. Let's just focus on winning one playoff game. Just one. It may only be June but with each passing year the sting of once again not making the playoffs lingers further into the offseason.

My only problem with Romo saying he'll be more of vocal leader was if I remember correctly, he kind of mocked the idea of being a vocal leader either last year or the year before. Now he's saying he needs to be more vocal?? It just seems like Wade saying he'll be a different kind of coach. It just doesnt seem to fit his character.

Truth!

He has to make it fit though. It's his destiny. Romo is the best thing we've had at the QB position since Troy IMO... Call me selfish but I want to see him finally get it and start racking up wins beyond the end of November.

Exactly. I would never expect our proud veteran ring holders to sit idle by while the current representatives of the franchise choke game after critical game away.

So ok.. We got blasted 6 months ago and since it has been months we should simply forget it. Hmmm... Would that be the same as forgetting all about those rings we enjoyed in the early nineties because it was ages ago? Never.

No one is crying and moaning about it, the only people crying and moaning here are the once who didn't like what Irvin said.

What do people want him to say?, anything that strokes Romo and the teams egos some more so they can go out and do what they did in 08 all over again?
Irvin basically said "shut up and show me" how anyone can take a dislike to that is beyond me when this team has been all talk and nothing but talk for years now

Someone needs to show Michael Irvin a calendar and remind him there are no games to play in June. His TV show has him thinking that is actual football.

Wow, how soon we forget. Boy it's bad when the heart and soul of our last 3SBs gets piled on just because he has an opinion on Romo.

WOW. Hey Hos, could you remind this guy what Mike meant to this organization. He was the beginning of this frachises ressurection and without him I doubt we when 3 SBs in the 90s. Also remind him that we have not won a playoff game since Irvin left. Irvin's personal problems are well chronicled and was a dark time in Cowboy's history but I still think the organization is better today for having Irvin on the team. No matter how you feel about his comments don't forget to handle our HOFers with the class and dignity they deserve.

DUDE,during irvins time as a player you are correct they had many issue's on those teams, but they won and won it big often..That alone gives any of those players the right to say anything they want about this current group..Until romo and crew win at least a playoff game they need to sack up and take the negative shots given to them!!

I wish irvin would shut up, move out of the city....to alaska or calgary or something and go away.

Its ironic that all the attention ****** from the early 90s all have reality shows....irvin, sanders and now MC Hammer.

Its a new morning, so I guess that is a good reason to bash romo.

Interesting.

Where was the respect from irvin when he was banging strippers and hookers and getting suspended for doing coke, stabbing teammates and just being a complete thug.

That showed alot of respect to his teammates, his fans and most importantly to his family. Irvin is the last guy anyone should associate with respect.

Especially since he still has had these problems after his playing days.

I thank him for his help in winning those superbowls and making that team elite for so long, but at the same time he brought as much shame to the organziation and its fans as he did wins.

and that is why alot of us do not like him.

Oh, you're right. "Hate" is probably too strong of a word. Let me rephrase that by saying "cut the man down for all his past problems and insult him at every turn" instead of the word "hate"

In some weird butterfly effect style twist of fate, had we not had the guy bring so much shame to our organization - we probably wouldn't have had so much success.

He still may be an attention *****, but he's a 3 time Super Bowl winning WR if he didn't have that ego he wouldn't be where he is today.

Granted he may have done some absolutely stupid things, he has really taken an active role to turn his life around. Sure he got popped with a little marijuana a few years back, but Mike's life has drastically changed since he's become an 'analyst'. His hall of fame speech was incredible, and I really do believe in rehabilitation - especially in this case.

You give me a team full of choir boys, and I'll show you losers.

Irvin is 100% right, Romo just need to shut up and play ball and be more vocal, starting right now, now when the season starts, but now. He needs to show us once and for all that he finally understands what being the QB of the Dallas Cowboys means.

I am a big Romo Fan and I am tired of listening to people get on me, and I am tired of getting on him and defending him. I'm tired of his kid in the candy store look, I want to see a look of determination, focus and of a leader.

Have fun, but when it is time to put the nail in the coffin on a team, do it, by example and speaking up, when your teammates start making those silly mistakes and getting the team penalized.

Like I said before, Irvin is 100% right, and you people that want to bring up the past about Irvin need to quit, that is what's wrong with this world today, people can move on from mistakes in the past but as soon as they say something you do not like, you bring up the past which has nothing to do with that person's present or future.

I honestly don't know what to say to this. In one post you respond directly to me, which I would normally see as an invitation to a conversation, and in another you call me out. Yet you've told the whole forum on more than one occasion that I jump on everything you say.

I'm flattered that his post made you think of me. Thank you.

I hope that response was acceptable and won't hurt your feelings the way it seems to when I have tried to respond to you in the past.
