Talk is cheap. I want to see him take charge of the team. Romo is QB of the Dalas Cowboys and it's time he started acting like it.

And what I am saying is the season does not start in June and Michael Irvin should know that.

Or does he think there really are time machines and we can go back in time and change the past?

Either way, his comments are stupid in this case.
Season doesn't start in June but maybe Romo needs a head start to get his head out of his *** & back into the game. He doesn't NEED to tell ANYONE that he's going to be more of a Leader this season. Just DO IT & we'll ALL NOTICE.

WOW. Hey Hos, could you remind this guy what Mike meant to this organization. He was the beginning of this frachises ressurection and without him I doubt we when 3 SBs in the 90s. Also remind him that we have not won a playoff game since Irvin left. Irvin's personal problems are well chronicled and was a dark time in Cowboy's history but I still think the organization is better today for having Irvin on the team. No matter how you feel about his comments don't forget to handle our HOFers with the class and dignity they deserve.

slow down bub......i need no reminders Irvin is in my top 5 all time Cowboys.....

Its laughable.

So is the scoffing at legends who basically are responsible for winning real Super Bowl championships who have their doubts about our current crop of big talkers and small producers.

But whatever floats your boat and makes you feel better and more secure about the current situation, which honestly is a far cry from the winning traditions established by players like Irvin.

What's funny is the respect factor is completely the opposite of how it should be. Those who actually did it are getting less, while those who have done absolutely nothing except talk big or say the right things are getting the benefit of the doubt.

Irvin's point was prove it. It is not a stupid thought, nor is it out of place when it is June.

coming from a Jerry hater this is funny.......he had a huge hand in those 3 rings yet the haters want to run him out of town

Surprised that Irvin caught backlash for this. I don't agree with him, and he's contributing to circumstances where the QB of the team can't catch a break, but I'm not even sure his tone was critical. It's possible to say that Romo needs to lead by example and have that just be constructive criticism.

I'm not aware of Michael being critical of Romo in the past or in the defense of TO. Has he publicly drawn sides the way Deion has?

What's it going to be then, eh?

I don't want him "run out of town". There are few owners I'd want over him.

Just step back, be the owner, get a general manager and allow the team to play without injecting himself in every single thing. Somehow 30 or so other owners manage to do just that and still do okay for themselves.

Look, those guys got it done. Doesn't matter what they did off the field, they got it done on it.

You can't get it done on the field when you're suspended for what you did off the field.

No, that's not at all what I said. I said he didn't get it done when he was suspended.

Monster Heel said it didn't matter what the Cowboys of the 1990s did off the field. It obviously matters, because it probably cost us a fourth Super Bowl title in the 1990s.

Ok. Fair enough. The three he contributed to sure were wonderful though.

13 years later we're still trying to get back to one...

There certainly is a smug cadence about the majority of those posts yeah?

I see no malice in Irvin basically saying to Tony "action speaks louder than words". I'm not getting the reason for all the butt hurt over this. Perhaps someone can fully enlighten me. Tony is fully entrenched in the driver's seat. The car is all his. There's no need to tell me how you're going to drive the Ferarri. Just put the pedal to the medal and leave me bewildered in a trail of smoke.

Some also fail to understand the possibility of an underlying tone here. Perhaps Irvin was mentored in the same way when he was much younger. Perhaps his coaches and mentors told him to just shut up and produce. Perhaps they did that to light a fire (which obviously worked on the field)... Perhaps his motives are the same here... Just a thought...

Why do you and other knuckleheads always complain about this exact thing when you know good and well it's not going to happen!

What other thing in your life would you like to see changed that WILL NEVER HAPPEN? What is it? Will you harp on it for the rest of your life?

Totally wrong. People who say this are completely missing the point.

But I love the idea that if you won 3 Super Bowls, then by Gawd, you're entitled to trash current players all you want.

Fixed it for ya.

I honestly don't know what to say to this. In one post you respond directly to me, which I would normally see as an invitation to a conversation, and in another you call me out. Yet you've told the whole forum on more than one occasion that I jump on everything you say.

I'm flattered that his post made you think of me. Thank you.

I hope that response was acceptable and won't hurt your feelings the way it seems to when I have tried to respond to you in the past.

Hey buddy, I'm just trying to be friends ole pal. I actually thought that you, being a mod, would have a healthy respect for Cowboys history and would defend it against some of these idiotic comments. It's not like our current history has given us anything to brag about.
