So essentially we shouldn't have looked to
improved the DE position because we need to protect and guarantee a roster spot on the 53 for Russell, who we aren't even sure is a good DE.

Due to age, some of these posters will keep around any jag just to hype up the potential that they usually don't have. They think young means potential and that is not always true. They believe in fairy tales.

DE could end up not being so needy by the end of the season. Lawrence will be back and I think his issues are over. Tapper might be legit. I think he is. I do believe Mayowa is a good reserve at the least.

I'm not staying up at night worrying about this group as an offensive coordinator but it's not devoid of talent either. Now LB? Yeah. if Smith doesn't get his nerve back that group is pitiful. You have Leevil Knievel and a bunch of bums.

When you're trying to win a superbowl that's what you should do. When building a team when say romo is done then you keep the young guy.

How is WANTING to keep Russell over Freeney a loser mentality? You don't have any evidence Freeney is gonna make us a so called SB contender. And my expectations are high, don't need Freeney to make it any different.

Because Freeney can actually sack the QB. Russell can't even get in same zip code of a QB. This is not speculation, it is fact.

But the loser mentality is based on your belief that the Cowboys can't win it all. If you don't think you're a winner, then you'll never win.

Freeney may have not have been the vital difference on an excellent defensive team, but he could be the vital difference on a mediocre defense with an elite offense. And AZ was contending for SB last season.

No they didn't. They didn't contend. Contender's are the ONES who actually have a chance to win it. One game to do it, period. The NFC Champion vs the AFC Champion. Carolina contended last year, but lost to the Broncos.

Even as a part time player, Dwight Freeney was a better pass rusher than anyone on this team in the last 2-3 years.
