Is anyone excited about this coming football season?

No. Pretty much stopped caring now. The owners are ruining football with all their rules changes and the Cowboys have no chance of anything more than an early round playoff loss. At best.

I'm not excited for the season right now, still need some space from that part of it but I am excited for the draft. I love the draft, could be my favorite time of the year. I'm always excited to get some young talent in here. I am really hoping they inject a #1 draft pick into the defensive line and maybe even a couple more. Also kind of excited for the first time about potentially drafting a young QB to try and groom because I am worried about Romo's injuries, not that I think he is done or his clock is ticking fast but the back stuff with QBs is scary and he's 34.

I'm anxious about the personnel decisions, we still don't know if Kiffin or Callahan will be back and other assistants.

I'm interested in what they will do with guys like Miles Austin and DeMarcus Ware, will they be cut or forced to take paycuts?

I'm excited about parts of the season like getting our players healthier, watching young studs like Dez and Tyron Smith. Excited to see if Claiborne, Wilcox, Carter, Frederick, Leary, Crawford and guys like this can take their respective next steps or figure "it" out. I'm happy that the offensive line was pretty good and glad that all of it is under contract, could still improve because of young guys like Leary, Smith, Freddy.

However...all of this will take a backseat to the Rangers when they gear up in March/April, which right about the time the Cowboys will get their offseason really rolling. The Rangers have given us things to be really excited about and the Cowboys are very likely to be the same team as last year with minor changes, draft picks and possibly mediocre FAs unless some cap work is done. Jerry will still be here, Garrett, the same core that has gone 8-8 three years straight. Not sure about coordinators yet but it will always be JG's offense unless Jerry says otherwise. That concludes the negative portion of this long post.

I'll probably be significantly more inclined to don my rose-colored glasses whenever the draft is a done deal.
The development of the OL and the chances for our d-linemen to return healthy does rate a thumbs up, though.

No one gets excited for the football season till July/August comes around. Then we're all excited for some football regardless of how bad the Cowboys have been.

I'm very excited for next season...I'm very excited for the off-season.
I have no delusions. This is not a SB contender, and nothing this off-season will make them a SB contender, but the Cowboys have been my love since 1967, and I anticipate improvement and another chance to win the division.

So, then, you've noticed that too, huh? -- LOL. Hey, it's tough drinking the blue Kool Aid when your team has the kind of season we've just turned in. Sure nuff!

There is no freakin way the defense can be any worse. lol

I don't know man, I was saying that last year and look how it turned out this year, SURELY, it can't get any worse, can it? o_O

Though, regardless of how bleak our situation looks, I'll ALWAYS be excited come the start of a new season. I'm a FAN, it doesn't matter if we went 0-16, 8-8 or 16-0 the previous season, I'll be ready come September. :D

I see what youre saying. This is my issue with some many wanting to dump Ware (not even mentioning losing Spencer and Hatcher) I could easily see a situation where Selvie was just a single season success. The draft pick, assuming Dallas drafts a defensive lineman, turns out to be a flop... Things could absolutely gets worse. I just think its unlikely, especially after looking at the terrible stats.

Should be a very competitive team in 14'. Lots of injuries killed the 13' season. Looking forward to another solid draft. Stacking good drafts are what make teams healthy wealthy & wise. The offensive line did a complete 180. The offensive positions are decently stocked. I am hoping Tony is back and ready for spring drills. The defensive secondary should have another chance to put out some young players 1st and 2nd team. Holloman and Wilbur played pretty good at LB. Maybe Carter rebounds. I think he will. Big concern with Lee but hey he is a tackling machine if he can stay on the field. The defensive line should be given offseason attention in a big big way. Will JG be a real coach this year. He seems to have the players ready and playing with effort. I will give him that. Will he get better at running out the clock and understanding the clock? Will Dallas change any other coaches. We will see. I will follow with interest even if my wishes are not followed. The stadium looks great. Even the crowd seems to be loud during the late season At&T games. Ok for fun go get a DL in FA. Bye 2 Ware and Austin. picks in any order BPA but this is my wishlist in order of need. 1.DT 2.OG 3.DE 4.FS 5.LB 6.QB 7.BPA

I enjoy watching football but I find nothing exciting about the Cowboys this coming season. Maybe they can compete in the NFC East if the division remains bad. Looking at the schedule, I'd be shocked if they were 8-8 again. Maybe if they are, Garrett will be back for another year. Nothing ever seems to change year after year.

I'm always excited for a new season, I love the Cowboys, loved the oline and Murray, Tony had another top ten season and Harris is one of my favorite players.

Having said that, Tony's injury has me worried, I think there is a good chance the bottom could fall out next year, it will be tough for the players to buy into Garrett's message for a 4th consecutive year if they don't get to a fast start. I've always been very positive about the Cowboys chances and have been wrong a lot the past few years, now I'm feeling pretty negative about next year. Let's hope I'm wrong again.

Nope.

I love football. So I will watch and am already missing the Thursday night game, but can't get excited anymore about this team as this coaching staff, outside of Bisachia, is awful.

I will watch and cheer, but can't see me getting emotional like I always have. When you watch a team with mixed talent that cannot be coached to its potential it becomes very stale. By the end of this season I grew to the point where I wanted to lose in order for change. I've never been that way about anything and especially football. I want change and while I will watch and root for my beloved team, I see NO hope for this season, as I've seen what our HC can do and I'm not impressed.
