Is anyone excited about this coming football season?

Although a lifetime fan, I have much MORE apprehension about next season than usual. Lacking key payers on defense, lacking confidence in the defensive scheme, lacking a pash rush, lacking anything close to a shutdown corner or dominant linebacker, lacking cap space for blue chip free agents. Can't fix ALL that in one off-season.
On the offense, the main concern is Romo's health. Spinal surgery at L4/5 and full recovery for an older athlete (yes, even somebody as tough and determined as Tony) is never routine. His return to 100% is uncertain.

Penalties were down and st looked better. Only things that looked good this year. Too many things to fix and a gm/owner that doesnt care. I think dallas will take 3rd in the nfce at best next year. Giants and skins have less problems than we do. This year was the worst the nfce could be and wont be that bad again for another 30 years and dallas still lost it! lol. We need 7 new starters on d. Need a new o and d scheme. And a new hc which didnt happen. The worst thing is who knows if romo will ever play again.

I am very excited about next season. At the end of the year , a new coach will be named. I am pumped!

I think 2014 is the year you see Dallas make a legit playoff push because they'll have some depth at key positions...

Question: Is anyone looking forward to the next football season?

Answer: It takes time -- still trying to get over the last one! ~licking wounds~

right now I do not know what to be excited about with this team. there are some great young players that made an improvement as the year went along. I just wish that this defense could just stay healthy for one year so that we can see what they can really do in a full season. the injuries are killing this team every year on defense. also I am nervous about romo. aikman could not play at an all-pro level when he reached 34 with his bad back so if romo does not play as well as he played last year this team will probably only win five games if not less. right now I am ready for the draft which I also do enjoy about the offseason.

No one gets excited for the football season till July/August comes around. Then we're all excited for some football regardless of how bad the Cowboys have been.

This is true for a lot of people.
I take it in steps, as most probably do also, or I think they do.

After SB.
See all the coaching changes, if any, even assistant coaches.
It's looking at the FA moves, players being resigned, cut, roster moves made.
The schedule release.
Then preparing and looking at the draft and all the mock drafts, no matter how good or bad. I don't get into looking at all the players that I used to though.
Then you get the OTA's, then the mini camps. Kind of spread out.
Then you have the drought, after mini camp, seems what 6 weeks of almost nothing until camps are about to start.
