Admittedly, there is a duality at play here for me.

1. Before ever game I see a win (always did. Just seemed like things were wrong when we lost, as It wasn't supposed to happen)

2. When it comes to our team situation, I don't see much changing. Win one, lose one maybe a 2 or 3 game win streak. Then come do or die time = we blow it.

Can't be more honest than that.
It's what I see.... It's what I feel....

Sorry to hear it. I still think he can be a good coach but his time is running out.

On another note: Gru's Crew? :p

That's great..Gru' s Crew sounds good..

Chucky's Army appeals to me, too.

I think with his brother now in Washington..what a rivalry we'd have again with the Skins.

Im as stoked now as ever. Im probably among the "Kool Aid drinkers" but I was glad to see:
A offensive line that looked good and will probably be nothing but better next year.
The way Murray has emerged as a legit RB.
Romo play a little less conservative and that his back injury, in terms or common NFL injuries, isnt a career ending type.
There is no freakin way the defense can be any worse. lol
Lee will need to show that he can be just as productive while staying healthy.
There may be something worth looking at in Holloman

I know there are some serious doom and gloomers, but I feel as optimistic as ever.

It will take 8 months for my excitement to come. And without fail, it will, because the Cowboys are part of me and my family...As of this moment though, not even a little bit of hope is inside of me.

1) Our core players will NEVER escape the injury bug. Romo will fight his back forever now after two surgeries, or he will have other injuries trying to protect his back. D-Ware is on the downside of a great career. He was incredible in his prime, but that's over. Lee, well, he's been injured since high school, and he never plays more than 10 games a year. The "hammies" are part of the culture now. If the rest of our team had heart like Dez or JW to play hurt, then my opinion might not be as harsh on this subject. However, we have more guys like Austin and Carter than we do 88 & 82.

2) The cap and the money we have available to spend will dictate what we can do in FA. I've seen some guys try to debate how much money we will actually have. But regardless of how bad it is, everyone with any knowledge agrees that we are in bad shape. We will fill holes with lower tier, or older vets, and then inevitably watch the brass give us their diamond in the rough pitch.

3) There was a great article on BTB that talked about all of the weird stats that we had defensively this year. We weren't only the worst defense in the league this year. We were one of the worst defenses in the history of the NFL this year. Every defensive coach we had should not have only been fired, they should have felt embarrassed enough to resign after the season. Enough with the Marinelli love. Statistically we couldn't have been any worse, so it's not like he did anything that warrants keeping him around either. When you add the horrible coaching, the talent we have, and the money we have to make some major improvements, it all adds up to another 8-8 or worse season next year.

4) We have the 16-17th pick in the draft. We all know something is going to happen in the draft that will make us look even worse than we already are. Every member of this site will have ten different opinions as to what we are going to do in the draft. But,,, the day after the draft, NONE OF US will be correct. Logic and common sense will be thrown out of the window on draft day.

Is anyone excited about this coming football season? (leave jerry out of this, please).

Is there any excitement that you feel good about that happened with this team this past year? What part did you like best about this past team that might get you excited about this years team? Was there anything that made you proud of the Cowboys?

(don't be talking about the cheerleaders)...

What did you as fans take out of this past year that gets you excited for this coming season?

These are not hard questions.
Yes, very excited. We should have about 10 draft picks. We'll get back from IR at least 3 players whom I think can make a positive impact in 2014. I like that we hustled. I like that we took the ball away. I like that we developed a run game. I like that Tony Romo was efficient and productive all year. I liked the development of a couple of our young players into viable parts for the future.

Yes, I am very excited. I am always excited about football.

I know that I'll be excited once the season starts again. Right now, it's hard to feel excited pre-draft/free agency because there's really no change coming to this team...same coach, same GM, same QB...

We've had three 8-8 seasons in a row...probably going to be the first team to ever have 4 in a row unless some serious changes are made.

I'd rather go 3-13 if it meant we wouldn't go 8-8 again and delude Jerruh into thinking that he's just "a few players away" from winning it all.

I am bummed about the upcoming season, not exiced at all.
Romo will be a year older and coming off of major back surgery
Witten will be a year older.
We don't know if Ware will be back at a reduced salary like he should.
Hatcher will prob be gone.
We have made no coaching changes, and I believe we should have.
I will watch the games and hope for the best,
but the current front office of the Cowboys has just about sucked all the joy out from following this team.

Been a cowboys fan since 1977. I haven't missed too much since then........

And. No. I am not excited for next year.....

I'm really enjoying the playoffs this year........maybe it's been awhile since I've seen "good" football teams play each other. ??

I'm excited. I don't see WAS or NYG being that much better next year as they each have way too many holes that can filled this offseason so it'll be down to us and PHI for the division again. We'll have lots of guys on D back from injury so the D should be better, and Murray is coming into his own and Will and Fred will have a year of experience under their belts O should be better. Can't see us finishing at .500 or less again next year.

Well said. Just think if our defense improved to the point it was average.

I am always looking forward to the next season but the next season will be brutal and it will get nasty if we get tough early games.

I want to see the Cowboys playing again, but I can't say I'm particularly excited because what real changes are we going to make?

On defense alone there will be several new starters and roster changes. Special teams are fine perhaps a better backup return guy for Harris. Offense needs depth addressed. So I don't expect much different with those units. But, as I have mentioned before, our defense will be vastly improved next year. I'm very anxious to see the new additions on defense and (fingers crossed) hope we are in the top half of the league.
