Here's my problem with this rationale. There's basically a mindset that if this team ever loses again, it's "here we go again."
I do think the Cowboys have some inherent flaws that could prevent them from competing for a Super Bowl. The offense is returning to its old finesse form, unable to consistently run the ball during the game. There are a bevvy of penalties or turnovers, and sometimes both.
But I didn't think the team folded today. They were simply outplayed. It happens.
I respectfully disagree. It's not THAT the Cowboys lost, it's HOW the Cowboys lost. This is the same type of performance we saw against the Ravens and Philly last year. The difference is the defense actually showed up. They were the only ones that kept us in the game.
How the Cowboys lost is what conjures the "here we go again" mindset.
Once again Jason Garret failed to make an in-game adjustment to off-set what the defense was doing. It's absolutely mind-blowing that a guy coaching at that level is so inept at one of the basic principles of the job. It isn't all on Garrett, though. The players (on offense) flat out sucked. They were outplayed in every facet. No intensity, no heart, and no balls. Green Bay punched 'em in the mouth and they folded like a band of *******.
With that being said, I'm not necessarily in the "here we go again" mode. Wins against the Foreskins and Raiders won't amount to much (other than the obvious wins) in telling us what type of team this is. After that, we'll find out how good this team really is. A loss to Washington OR the Raiders will tell me everything I need to know about this year's team, however.
