"Anti Nors agenda?" You can't be serious. Your manhood is not being challenged for crying out loud. Grow up.

We all know the HOF is a farce. It has been said in here by more than 1 person.

I could argue with you that baseball lets the best in. All of the Halls of Fame have controversy surrounding them. Get used to it or invest in Kleenex. I'd play the :violin: for you but I have no musical talent beyond turning on a stereo.

You are a politician then - Non answer to issue presented . You cry foul on Swann and the ilk getting in and now prop Swann as an impact player. What is it?

We agree - Football Hall is a farce.

He was colorfull, won a SB with Jets. His career sucked. Not sure why thatmakes you one of the greatest ever, NFL hall material. Play that Jets season in a wing and rejoice.

Swann? Hello - this board killed the guy in the whole Bullet Hayes debate. Now Swann is an impact player and deserves in? When there are 30 receivers walking thgis earth better than him? That aint right. Irvin one of them.

Bledsoe viewed differently because of a Green Bay punt return in a close SB? Or that after the 2001 AFC Championship game win by Bledsoe - Brady gets the start and SB?

Parcells a better coach because Norwood missed by a foot?

I'm not discussing Swann...I figure, ya know, since this is about QB's we'd actually try to stay on point.

If all you know of Namath is that he was colorful, then you never saw him play...which in fact, you didn't.

Ya wanna switch sports and get off QB's? OK...let's.

Derek Jeter. You would look at his stats and make a decision that he's not the player that many other shortstops are. In fact, you'd be very wrong. After watching him for years, I'll still take him over any other shortstop...including the shortstop who plays third base next to him. There are guys who transcend their stats.

Hey, tell ya what...if you think Namath is about being "colorful"...I'll mail ya the bio that was written about the guy last year.

He saved the AFL and caused, in large part, the merger.

Why is it that you ignore those facts and instead refer to him as colorful.

And I'll try this one more time also...

You just said earlier that comparisons from the 80's on were valid.

Nors, if you truly know the sport you are speaking about, you know the game is entirely different than it was back then.

In fact, you just invalidated your own point by bringing up Unitas and Bradshaw.

Unitas, in ANY poll, will always be considered one of the top five players of all time...so I suppose we'll be seeing Bledsoe's name in the top five from now on as well because he has a higher QB rating???

When you rely on QB ratings as your only supporting argument, it's pretty obvious that said argument holds no weight.

I invalidated NOTHING - Bledsoe stands up against the greats - give him a Lombardi like Young garned at 33, he's in!

Just pointing out that Bledsoe is no Kingman in the big picture. Of course he's no Unitas, Bradshaw but thiose guys VASTLY benefitted from being part of great teams also.

Well don't go using all caps with me young man!

I ain't the one who brought up Kingman.

I simply think you are cheating yourself of a great part of NFL history if you minimize the impact of Joe Namath.

As far as Bledsoe standing up against the greats...uh, ok, whatever you say.

He wouldn't even be in the top ten active QB's today, let alone the greats.

Have a good night...

I enjoy discussing pizza much more with ya. :D

Modern Day QB's in the HOF vs Drew Bledsoe:

Read the above list outloud and at the end, add Bledsoe's name...and then sing that song "Which one of these is not like the other? Which one of these doesn't belong?"

Excellent post. I haven't read the other replies to this, but in a nutshell you wrote what I think. Bledsoe doesn't belong in the Hall.

Would you take Jeter over any other shortstop if he had been putting up those same stats with the Tigers? It's much easier to transcend stats when you have great players surrounding you.

That's why I have to agree with Nors on this one. I think media and fans put too much credence on team accomplishments when they rate players.

Jeter could probably stop playing now and make it into the HOF, but guys like Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio may not make it in unless they can get to 500 homeruns (Bagwell) and 3000 hits (Biggio).

Was a 6 year old kid born and raised on Long Island NY, NY
Moved to Waterbury CT an houreast of the big city.

I remember Staubach being all that. Remember watching Tark throw close to 400 Td's. Saw Griese manage teams and win. Bradshaw was money in big games. Namath - my recollection during the era was he was a total stiff. He sucked candidly.

Throwing fingers I'd take Hart, Brodie, Jurgenson, Stabler, Tark over that stiff.

I love how an answer you don't like is a "non answer." I also like how you transfer accusations.

Wrong guy................again.

I call foul on Bob Hayes not being in, not on Swann. Hayes had an impact on the game. A big one.

Truth hurt?

Lynn Swan is an average WR that is part of a "great" team and he gets in. He is really no better than a Larry Brown or Dexter Jackson that go offf in a big game.

Yet their careers are elevated based on that. Put Swann in Arizona for a career and he aint sniffing the hall.

Danny White went to 3 straight Championship games and his team fell shy, but he really was not that far a drop off from Troy and Staubach - yet history and Hall does not look that way.

Had Aikman been drafted by Pats in 89 and had no Emmitt, Irvin, Novacek, Oline, Haley, Deion etc - Is he in the hall?

Could Bledsoe in his early prime won 3 Rings on that team? Aikman showed early and late in his career he couldn';t carry a franchise.

I could argue Bledsoe has a history of elevating franchises.....

You defend Swann in? I don't care to go to the tape. Actually both don't deserve in.

There is no way Swann deserves in the Hall : period. You are walking a fine line. Move on you made a bubbooo and I called you on it.

Back to Bledsoe - he wins a Lombardi in Big D - he's in. Period!

I defended Swann in the HOF?

Okay if you say so. I guess. Wasn't what I said, but I don't expect you to understand that.

I will say he had a BIGGER impact on the game than Bledsoe.
