Is Ceedee Lamb overrated?

Dez could outleap many defenders, and at times, he could make a 1 handed catch. But, he never displayed the ability to contort his body the way CeeDee did to make the acrobatically insane catch CeeDee made at the Vikings for a TD last year. CeeDee literally was running towards the left sideline part of the endzone and suddenly stepped, cut and made his body move 90 degrees towards the backside edge of the endzone in a split second while making a 1 handed catch for a TD. There is no way Dez could make his body twist and contort that way, much less be able to suddenly cut and move his body in a 90 degree change of direction the way CeeDee did because Dez never displayed the ability to do that in all of the years he played with the Cowboys and in college with Oklahoma State. CeeDee was making these type of rare body contorting moves and catches when he was in college at Oklahoma, so this is not a slight towards Dez. It's just a fact.

Dez probably couldn't twist his 220 lb body the same way CeeDee can, but I don't think that would even be a top 2 Dez catch.

Yes, the Dez catch in Green Bay was a catch, but it still doesn't mean Dez could suddenly cut and make a complete 90 degree change of direction to get your body in position to make such an acrobatic 1 handed catch the way CeeDee did in the endzone at the Vikings last year. Dez never displayed the rare ability to do that. What WR actually could? CeeDee has a rare gift that other WRs don't.

I think you may want to find that catch against Philly where Dez is running left and Romo (at least I think it was Romo) heaves the ball to him among three Philly defenders and Dez reaches back across his body to snatch the ball while in the air .. He's leaping over three guys while working back against gravity.. If I can find it in my archives I will post it but that was about as much of a contorting show as you could ask for from a receiver. It's the one thing we're missing from this offense in the red zone too.

I'm not disparaging Dez. Just stating facts. You guys simply can't handle it.

i'll try to Not go so waaay far back in the time machine of the Eloys and Morlocks of the early 70's,.. and try to bring up closer comparisons to more conventional age familiar players. lol.

i think of Lamb may be more like a Torry Holt or Issac Bruce.

He's not gonna be a grizzly physically overpowering guy like Dez, but there must be something about his footwork of stop-restart, body control smoothness in his routes that allows him to get separation and get open most times. It may be more geared to finesse, but it's gonna still be on an pro bowl type level, and those type of big play caliber receivers.

Lamb doesn't have elite over the top burst and speed, and he's not a deafening open field runner as they want to make him out to be.
And i tend to think he's more limited in those Jet Sweeps that they ceased with him. That's why i don't think he'll be a frightening punt returner.

He's field fast, just like the Bruce, Chad Ocha Cinco and DeAndre Hopkins, his receiving style has him playing faster on the field than what his 40 time suggests.
