Yeah, it's an annual or biannual part of the organization and Garrett's twenty year process. One year the team will put together back to back winning seasons and we'll all think to ourselves, "See, the process is working!"

I wish he didnt wait for after the season.

hate to tell you but you and i r almost in agreement.
we both agree:
1. coaches need to go and replaced with a proven coach/staff with nfl experience
2. team is doing badly and making same mistakes
3. defense is doing horribly

where we do not agree:
1. you want coaches gone now whereas i want coaches gone after season ends.
2. i want to tank the season if things continue badly for another week or 2 whereas you want the players to fight to the end

that is not that far apart.
regarding the coaches:
1. where are you going to go get that proven nfl coach/staff until after the season.
2. i want to keep the existing coaches so we get a better draft position - whereas a new staff would likely improve performance but still not a contender.

the other place we may not agree is whether to sell off Dlaw and couple decent players at end of contract.

see, coach and putty r compatible
:lmao:

i admit it is painful.
he has had 2 back surgeries.
do you want a 2nd TSmith back situation going INTO the contract?

I got here late, but on the theme of "House Cleaning"....

If the Cowboys can trade DeMarcus Lawrence for a 1st round pick and Dez Bryant for a 2nd or 3rd, would they listen? Add that to the compensatory picks we're getting and Dallas can own the 2018 draft and add any defensive player on their board that they want.

Paea and Carroll gone.
With Thornton already gone a few weeks ago, so who is left to cut?
Sounds like the FO may be cleaning house or even cutting bait on the season.

Carroll/Paea probably to be replaced by young cheap players though it is possible a vet LB would be picked up if they are not cutting bait yet.
So much for the cheap FA strategy because McClay can work magic.
Unfortunately, FO's hubris got out of control.
So we have 2015 repeating itself.
Lets hope there is some magic left in McClay combing practice squads.

1) Hopefully TSmith's back will be figured out.
Whether he needs surgery or just rest, we shall see.

2) Also lets give the Chido's hamstring enough time to recover instead of forcing it every 3 weeks.

3) If nothing else, lets play the young players and hopefully a few will be players.
So that means Lewis, Chido when healthy, Woods and may be White.

4) On the WR side, let Brice, Brown and Switzer play, and trade TWill if we can.

5) That probably means trading DLaw before the deadline - never trusted his back despite the early performance.

The season is almost shot, so let's see some good come out of it.
Without getting into the definition of tanking, we will likely get a top-10 and perhaps a top-5 pick if we tried hard - could mean 2 defensive playmakers next year.

Can they clean house and get rid of Jerry also????

Even with D-Law the defense is atrocious. I want him to stay, but can the Cowboys afford him? Maybe it would be in their best long term interests to turn him into a high draft pick; if indeed they can.

We don't have a choice. Great pass rushers are worth just below a QB.

if he continues to play well, then he would be worth quite a bit on the trade market.
someone suggested franchising him and that is an option.
lets hope the team knows the real condition of his back and will act accordingly

Is this house cleaning or dusting off the injured list?

No way either of those guys were going to make a lasting impression for us.

cannon fodder while we get others playing.

no one is certain but lets look at who they are replacing those guys with.
if they were going for it, there is a proven LB FA still available.
instead they are going for some young guy who has been injured in 2015 and 2016.
