Exactly. Jourdan Lewis makes Carroll expendable. David Irving makes Paea expendable.

thought paea plays 1tech and 3 tech.
who is going to play 1tech now?

lewis makes carroll expendable?
chido is injured again.
you got oscan, lewis, brown who are healthy and lewis was still coming back from an injury.

Yes, Lewis is already a better corner than Carroll. At this point, Bene Benwikere as the number four or five CB is the same as Carroll. And Xavier Woods, listed as a safety, has been playing some in the slot as well. There's enough depth there for now, and don't forget Marquez White on the practice squad. He had some moments in camp.

As for Paea, he's retiring, or at least considering it. That's not a house cleaning move by the Cowboys, it's his own personal decision. Their only option now is Irving, but they will sign somebody else. Maybe Richard Ash off the practice squad.

we should play the young guys and see who sticks.

may be ash would be brought up to replace paea.
knowing marinelli, he would settle for try-hard instead of size at 1tech

this is like a slow-moving car wreck.
almost everything i did not want to see happen on the D is happening.
nightmare.

I don't think you come back from losing guys like Paea and Carroll, so you're probably right.

i like the 3-4 and think he can be used in a 3-4 scheme if the DC is flexible.
the problem is his back.
together with the fact that we are probably not a contender this year, why not get value for him.
we are already worried about TSmith's back issue.
do we want to double down on bad backs and have yet another large contract with a back issue?

How is he going to fit in a 3-4? A situational pass rusher?

Who is saying sign him to a long term contract? Personally, I would prefer we franchise him and if he plays 2 years then sign him to a nice contract. If not then let him sign elsewhere and get a top 100 compensatory for him.

We are not going to get his worth from another team. He is worth a high first round pick. Further who are we going to replace him with? Creating a gaping hole doesn't sound like a solution.

If we do tank then we both know you are going to call for a 3-4. It's what you do as you are fairly predictable.

another couple weeks of losing, i suspect the scene at games would be ugly.

nope. The chiefs game will be all chiefs fans, there will be a ton of eagles fans here and thanksgiving is always a tradition for people who come to one game a year even in the awful years. Washington fans travel here when they are winning.

after last season I was going to sell my psl but my wife talked me out of it saying I would miss it to much. I think after this weeks events I may be doing that for sure this time. I may even sell my tickets for the rest of the season. I hung on because I wanted to see witten finish out his career and see every game he played. Right now I still want to do that but this week changed some things for me.

and the stadium will never be empty because that is how the owners have rigged the ticket system. We have to buy psl's for our seats. Until you sell your PSL you get billed for the tickets and they must be paid for by may 1st. So the idea of an empty stadium is never going to happen by design.

i recall people saying dlaw is on the sidelines a lot.
is that due to his back?
i have no idea but i do worry about it.

i thought over the summer the 2 back surgeries would be the end of him.
i am glad to be wrong here.
question is what to do with him.

in a 3-4, dlaw can be the designated passrusher LB coming in from different gaps.
we stunt him a lot anyway.
i rather see him already in the desired gap after shifting around than having to come around a DT and the OL blocking the DT.

if traded, who we replace him with depends on what we get for him.
if we get a mid/high 1st or equivalent value, then there are obviously more options depending on what is available.

i think it is easier to disguise the passrusher/blitzing players in a 3-4 so that is my preference.
i still think it is easier to get 3-4 OLBs than a 4-3 RDE, but we should look at which players are rank highest.
whether 3-4 or 4-3, we could play probably quite a bit of both.
so may as get the best passrusher available rather than worry about the scheme.

as far as fo is concerned, better a stadium of enemy fans than no fans.

Not really most of those people have already payed for tickets this season. I doubt they would be a no show after dropping a good $300-$500 or more on seats. Next year I would be hesitant on buying some tickets. I can't believe thesee guys still can't get it together.

What happens if you don't pay your PSL bill?

How long are you on the hook for buying the PSL, does it ever get paid off?

If you dont pay for your seats you will get sued. You are legally obligated to pay for the tickets when you buy your psl. That is the trick the owners came up with to make sure they never have unsold seats in bad years.

You are not on the hook exactly for the psl. Its yours, its a bond. If you paid cash for it you owe nothing, if you took a loan on it then you pay each year whatever the 30 year loan amounted to. So every April 1st the bill for the psl is due, may 1st the tickets are due.

You are free to sell your psl for however much you want whenever you want. Once you do you are not on the hook for the tickets anymore.

This has me thinking. The Cowboys could run a 3-4 if they really wanted to. The ends could be David Irving and Maliek Collins. The nose tackle needs to be a big dude, so get Richard Ash off the practice squad. Tyrone Crawford and Lewis Neal (also on the practice squad) could be backups.

DeMarcus Lawrence and Benson Mayowa could be the OLB's, with Jaylon Smith, Taco Charlton, and Damontre Moore the backups.

Sean Lee and Anthony Hitchens would be the two inside LB's.

The personnel wouldn't be an ideal fit, but with some creativity it could work.

How do you come up with trading DLaw? Let’s get a 3rd round pick for a guy producing at a Pro Bowl level now. Real smart.

He only produced in 2 games, an against horrible teams...NYG 0-5 AZ 2-3 with the worst OL in football.

Three years of being a JAG and 2 good games against losers is not ProBowl level

Yeah I don't think this is a purging or house cleaning. I think it's simply a case of a failed FA offseason plan eroding right before the eyes of the Jones family.
They had a horrible off season

I would not mind a full-on purge as long as it starts in this order: Garrett, Marinelli, Linehan
