Is it Brock Purdy or the culture?

Because those draft picks the 49ers gave up are future draft picks. They have drafted well prior to such a trade while adding key pieces. The 49ers are ALL IN to win now. Very soon they are going to have to pay the Piper.

The Cowboys would be in a much better state had they not missed on so many early round picks the past 7 years. You're absolutely right, Jerry made some very bad contractual decisions and overpaid many times, hence why Amari was cut, along with several other previous starters. It's affecting the team right now.
We said the same thing about the Eagles and somehow they've completely retooled and restocked and have a much more talented team than we do. The important thing we never do is refuse to overpay for our own talent. We vastly overate our talent, and I'll include most on this board.

Maybe he was being sarcastic? I don't know...but I don't trust our weapons. CeeDee has proven to be good...but the rest of our WR corps is meh. Never understood how we were more comfortable spending money Michael Gallup....who was INJURED...than we were on keeping Cooper. No one will ever be able to convince me that we got rid of Cooper for anything else other than personal reasons.
The.cap and the future.

You have no clue!
That is the correct compensation.
Maybe you should look it up.
Ok i'll look it up.

trade-value-chart.jpg

#18 is worth 900 points

#31 is worth 600 points

#74 is worth 220

So according to this chart....instead of getting #74 we should've got #60 lol.

It's the team. It's crazy no matter the QB they just win baby. That's a well built team. I believe the only 2 players on our offense who would start on theirs is Ceedee Lamb and Martin.

And don't get me started on coaching especially on the offensive side. They scheme to get their playmakers the ball. We hope our playmakers get open or make a play. We scheme to get our 3rd string, who should be a 5th string, wr the ball. It's still crazy to me how Noah Brown gets so many looks during big time moments.

Yeah I don't understand the big money we gave Gallup who was injured either. I rather kept Coop but I guess he was just due too much money. We keep handing dumb contracts out like the one we gave Zeke. I rather us traded Zeke and get a first rounder. Instead we gave him a huge contract and he has been trash since signing it.

Exactly the second round and not the third LOL!
And for what it’s worth that’s still 80 points short!

Instead of a late 2nd rounder they got mid 3rd.....
So you’d rather have a lower pick?
Regardless of your dumb choice that FACT still remains that Jerry didn’t get proper value for the pick!
I know you homers find that hard to swallow but it’s still the facts!

Did I say he got proper value? I said he got decent value. And can you idiots decipher between a realistic opinion a homer? That's all you dudes say. "HOMER!"....as if its a insult to be a homer. Get some new material damn.

:lmao:

This overly negative thread has been fun so far.

It’s like we’re Chargers fans this morning.
Actually I wouldn’t say it’s overly negative at all. In fact I think the points made are exactly right in comparing the two organizations.

When Jerry’s fingerprints are examined and discussed, 27 years allows for negativity because he’s earned it.

I agree completely. But I’m pretty negative when it comes to this team nowadays.

Surprised to see it when we haven’t lost yet

I think you're wrong there. I believe Amari was open to changing his salary. Jerry just wanted him gone.
Several reports said Amari refused to take a pay cut.

"Similar case to Amari Cooper

This case follows the report of Amari Cooper, the stellar Dallas receiver who was also asked to take a pay cut, but upon not agreeing, different reports say he will not remain with the Lone Star in his helmet in 2022."

Definitely the 49ers system for now. BUT that doesn't mean Purdy can't turn into a top NFL QB at some point in his career as this is just his rookie season.

This is the main difference. Look at how many people here think that a 12-5 or even two such seasons mean something. It doesn't and never did. Look at how Jerry is satisfied when his team is "relevant"... in the news. I guess he never meant play offs.

The culture is toxic over here. Even if they beat Brady, it would only the beginning. Anything but a SB win after all those years is simply not good enough. That's why I won't give a rat's arse about regular season stats anymore. Dak is NOT a top 5 QB just because he's leading a high scoring offense. Once he does something in the play offs, as in MAKE A FRIGGIN DIFFERENCE, and a couple of times I mean, then I'll consider him top whatever. Right now he's just a pretender, no matter how many 30 yarders he brought home during the reg season.

This goes for alot of other players and the coaches too of course. Show, don't tell.
Well said

There is most certainly a culture issue when a team can go out and lay an egg like Dallas did with n the Commanders game ..
