Is Micah Parsons overhyped?

then why was he useless in the GB game?
For the same reason most elite pass rushers who are their only team's real weapon have awful playoff numbers: you can build your offense to not lose to one guy if you are a good offense and then it comes down to the other players to win their one on ones. Its the reason Watt and Garrett also have very poor playoff numbers despite unquestionably being great.

No, he is one of the most gifted defensive players of all time. I don’t think we’ve used him properly. He has the versatility to do a lot more than the Cowboys use him.
Defensive players? Or pass rush specialist?

I think the comparisons to LT, Derrick Thomas and Reggie white can stop. Watched the LT football life on nfl network yesterday. They are not the same. They have similar athletic traits. But LT was on another plane as far as football smarts and coaching was concerned. Having parcels as the head coach and Bill belicheck as your defensive coordinator is leaps and bounds better than Mccarthy and Quinn or Mccarthy and Zimmer.

Lt had his demons with addiction. Micah's demons are social media and his inability to shut his mouth.

I agree with what your saying, but watch the game again and just look at parsons, he isnt even trying.
Also game plans and schemes matter, and GB whipped dallas in those areas too.

Parson is only good if he is used in innovative way and he is trying his best. it has to change from week to week or teams
will scheme to handle him.

When we're getting our butts kicked he has that Dak look like he's out of it. Arizona game stands out

he just wants to be a pass rusher he is not the greatest trade him while some interest in him at the last of the season no rush capability was there, he doesn't want anything to do with being a linebacker he stated that. as a person cannot make any judgements but just trade him

What pass rusher has had a better first 3 years in the league? The only players who even compare are Aldon Smith and a bunch of guys who've worn gold jackets.

ETA: you could throw Jevon Kearse on that list too. Dynamite first 3 seasons, injuries sapped him after that, but he still had a long and productive career.

Well according to the same standards that Dak is held to a lot have, since Micah does not show up in the playoffs.

Yes or no, and why????
Did you see this defense without Parsons? The Cowboys need to get DTs put him at LB and let him wreck true havoc on offenses.

*Micah Parsons, DS #1 OLB, Penn State
Selected:
Round 1, Pick 12, Overall Pick 12 by Cowboys

Have you paid attention? We like to draft players, disregard every evaluation and play players in roles that don't maximize their potential. Jerry knows best.

Let's ask Mazi to lose weight and play a different position.

Let's ask Pollard after an injury to become a power back between the tackles.

Let's have a Safety play LB.

We don't run a 3-4 defense, so Micah will be an undersized DE and we will shorten his career. The same reason he will be holding out next year and asking to break the bank. No reason for him to risk another year of injury.

I'd say no, but I don't know if I'd break the bank to keep him either.

If he is over-hyped, I'd use that to trade him and load up on players/picks.

let's be honest, paying all the "top" players on the cowboys roster will be difficult.

We also had all 3 players being paid less money last year and how did it work out for us? So paying all 3 of them significantly more is going to accomplish what exactly???

Zimmer is going to put him back at LB and use him like he used Anthony Barr. Which is the same way Parsons was used at Penn St. Both were 4-3 defenses.

I will agree that Jerry Dumbo GM Jones will mess it up.

I hope you are correct, but that is most likely not what Micah wants to do. He would actually have to study, prepare and read a defense that way.

He's overhyped/overcovered by the media because he's a Dallas Cowboy, but he does possess the talent. There would be a number of teams willing to make him the highest paid defensive player if he were on their roster.

All we need is 3 and let the bidding war begin.

Well Zimmer learned the 3-4 defense from one of the best...Tuna. I am not worried about Zimmer. Parsons will do what Zimmer says. The issue is the 30 player run around to Jerry Dumbo GM Jones that has 0 Championship games and 0 Super Bowls.

Problem is we are not running 3-4. Nor do we have personnel to do so.
