Let's put it this way. If Micah was Taylor's teammate and said he was pretty neutral on one of their division rivalries, LT would have removed Micah's teeth.

Taylor was levels above Micah mentally and played with a nasty disposition that Micah lacks.

Now just pure talent it's a different story. Micah can do more on the field than Taylor could. LT wasn't running down field with running backs and receivers. Micah can and has.

Ive been hearing/seeing this a lot lately.

To the older fans out there that have seen both play in real-time, is Micah on his level?

Hard for me to believe that Micah is on a trajectory to be the GOAT defensive player.

I think he is as good, and will be better. Because we have to take in account, LT didn't get moved around like this. I have never seen a guy that gets moved to so many spots and is still this disruptive.
I find that just insane... Plus he has a quality like Taylor as well... he wants to be the best. Not just money he wants, he wants to win a ring, and he wants to be the best. He is a throwback to another time and mindset.

Not to mention, pretty sure LT was coked up in many games lol.

I don't really understand how Micah is so damn strong either... I've seen the guy get triple teamed and still pushing the linemen backwards.
In reality he looks strong, but not that strong to be able to do that... Man got that tendon strength haha.

So freakin fast too...

Have to remember that part of LT's nastiness was probably withdrawls lol.

He's not there but he can be if he keeps working. He took that game over yesterday. And that's what Taylor did. Took games over

Not there. That's a very hard spot to earn. Right now I'll be happy with a Second Coming of Charles Haley, where pretty much after every game he would disrupt the backfield/

L.T. physically and mentally intimidated, and imposed his will against offenses.

Lawrence Taylor was the apex predator of the NFL:

Some quotes/story about LT from the article:
John Madden--"He changed the way defense is played, the way pass-rushing is played, the way linebackers play and the way offenses block linebackers.”
Eric Dickerson story -- "Eric Dickerson tells a funny story about his first NFL game, which was against the Giants and Taylor. On a key play, he was told to block Taylor to free up a pass. He came in and cut Taylor, who was not amused...“You don’t cut me!” Taylor said. “I will KILL you.”

Most responding to this aren't even old enough to have watched LT.

I am. The answer is no.
I am too, and I thought highly enough of LT to buy a video tape of his highlights, even though I'm a Cowboys fan.

As someone pointed out earlier, Micah's going up against guys who are much bigger, yet probably just as athletic as the guys LT faced.

Also, today's offenses are more sophisticated than they were then (party because LT forced them to be) and most get rid of the ball faster.

I say he's very close, and if he stays healthy, there's a good chance he'll surpass LT.

Taylor evolved to be the menace we know. Micah is every bit on the same trajectory that Taylor himself was on. He had time but his end product will look quite different due to his smaller stature, and superior movement. I like the Derrick Thomas comparisons quite a bit.

This will come across moronic I’m sure but he also reminds me of Sean Taylor in that things seem so easy for him and that “man amongst boys” sort of play. Parsons seems like he could play any sport.

:muttley: LT couldn't have caught him.

LT was the law behind the line of scrimmage and enforced that element completely.

Parsons has a different mission assignment today. Parsons will someday be a Hall Member and respected as deeply for his game affects.

LT was fast, but Micah is faster...and LT's burst wasn't even in the same zip code as Micah's.

Oh hell no! Taylor had to play for peanuts...the Lion could not play back in those days...that was some real football.

Let him go find his own meat...

I firmly believe that the reason Dan Quinn stayed here is because he realized he had the opportunity to coach potenitally an all-time great defensive player as special and as hungry as Micah.

Micah is made of the same stuff that Jordan and Kobe were. They didn’t just love to win, they hated to lose, and that spread throughout their teams.

Micah takes this team to another level.

Taylor revolutionized the outside linebacker position. He could bull rush lineman and drop back into pass coverage equally as well and intercept passes. Micah does not do that.

The comparisons are a little premature but you can see the similarities. And Micah is faster than LT.

Only time will tell but it’s great to have him on the Cowboys.

Enjoy the ride.

I did see both and the level of disruption he causes every time he is on the field is strongly representative of LT. Someone said it on one of the post shows... LT was meaner but Micah is relentless.
