Buck and Al Michals are the most professional and polished I just dont like the words that come out of their mouths. Anti Cowboy, Pro east coast, Giants , Eagles, Pat etc.

All of the "analysts" that do night games annoy the hell out of me. Gruden, Collingsworth, and Simms are all terrible. I wish the guys that call college games could do the nfl too.

That quote is no worse than John Madden's "The Dallas Cowboys have 2 types of plays, running plays and passing plays."

He (Simms) is a tool, but at least he played....I cant STAND Joe Buck.

Until fairly recently, many of the best announcers did not play in the NFL.

Sorry but Sims does not bother me. I find Mike Tirico, Al Michaels and Joe Buck to be much worse announcers.

I agree. For what it's worth Sims actually stuck up for Romo when he was getting hammered as a "choke" and that's not the reason I like him. It's actually by process of elimination that the others are far worse. Joe "eye brows, wish I was T Aikman" Buck is the most annoying and the others (listed above) sound or try to sound so elite it's sad. I miss those Madden days and please spare the Mike Fiera (former head referee of officials) spot when there's a close ref call. It's like a new drama twist which serves a purpose for the fans. We all saw the ball hit the ground before the catch, lets' move on. I'd rather see one more of those thousands of obnoxious Progressive Insurance Commercials with Flo than hear some of these guys ramble. OK I feel better. Thanks

I may be in the minority but I like Simms. He is fair and objective regardless of team or player. As others have mentioned he has been balanced when discussing Romo. He rarely if ever resorts to hyperbole and media talking points when discussing football. He has intelligent takes not only during games but on the Inside the NFL show.

I actually like him better than Aikman. Of course my view of Aikman is tainted by the giant donkey of a broadcast partner he has.

I enjoy Joe Buck when he is away from the NFL and broadcasting Baseball Playoffs.

Simms annoys the hell out of me and makes me laugh at the same time. I agree he is unbiased. I also agree that he just loves to hear himself talk a bit to much.

At least a couple times a game you can count on him launching into his breakdown of the play just run only to have to shift gears completely when the replay starts to run and he sees the play again.

I've found anti-Cowboys agendas in essentially all the mainstream color commentators. Honestly, I almost always mute the TV and turn on the radio to hear Sham or Babe. Those guys are the only nonbiased announcers I can find these days. It's really a shame that being anti-Cowboy and anti-Texas is in vogue.

I can not for the life of me understand how this is the big game guy for CBS and now NFLN. He is terrible. It's like he is not even watching the game. Or he's announcing to a bunch of kids who don't understand football and just learning for the first time. He will make statements such as "Bailey had a chance to catch that ball and pick up many yards".

He is also the announcer on Madden this year. He is the same on there. One of his lines word for word in that game was "it's better to play from ahead than behind".

There's a reason why BAD Radio on The Ticket devote whole segments to him weekly on how bad he is.
Yes, he is the worst IMO.

I remember Parcells making comments back in the day that inferred Simms was stupid. Now I know why.

The BAD radio recaps of Simms are funny.

I get that Joe Buck is smug, but he much better than Simms. I would prefer some of bthe "C" team announcers over Simms.

I wish that DVRs had an input for an alternate audio channel. I would use the Cowboys radio broadcast.

I like Simms personally. But I wish Gus Johnson did NFL games. I know he's a little excitable when doing NCAA games but I like his passion.
