I will give Philadelphia credit with their build through the trenches philosophy that goes back to the Buddy Ryan days. Their lines hide some big weaknesses that they have in their back seven and quarterback.
OK well where were they at trenches during the game when Prescott dropped 40 points on them they look like a team any other team where the defense will struggle if the other parts of their team aren't playing well we put 40 points on that defense most points on that defense all year last year.. Where was that defense last week when they lost to The Jets who we beat where was that defense to dominate the patriots they did not dominate the patriots we did they barely struggled to beat the patriots...

let's go I'm ready coffee is in you guys wanna discuss Philadelphia on the front page of our cowboy zone and you're drooling against them I'm here and I'm gonna do this all day... Well after I get back in from work but I'm coming LOL

I'm so sick and tired of post on the front page like this this has nothing to do with the Dallas Cowboys but it's masked and it's really just drooling over the Philadelphia Eagles again..

We need to get past the 49ers the Eagles do not scare me yes you respect the Eagles they're a good team but they don't scare me...

Simple fact of the matter is that once Jerry took over football operations himself, the Eagles have lapped us. They just have. Around the time Jerry was putting his stamp on the Cowboys as GM in the late 90s, the Eagles were hiring Andy Reid would would go on to take them 5 NFCCG games and 1 SB. Over his stretch in Philly from 1999 to 2012, the Cowboys coaches were Chan Gailey, Dave Campo, Bill Parcells, Wade Phillips, Jason Garrett.

And while this thread focus on "team building" part of the building of a team is putting the right people in place not only on the field but on the sidelines and in the front office. The Cowboys have failed miserably on the coaching side. And that's because while other owners look for the best coach, Jerry injects way too many silly criteria into the mix - most notably, will that coach want power or decision making that would step on his toes. Jerry wants a HC he can control. Garrett was beholden to Jerry given Jerry gave him his shot. McCarthy? Desperate to get back into coaching.

Unfortuately none of this is going to change any time soon because the son seems as inept and arrogant and stubborn and stupid as his father.

they always have a dominant two way dt. they had f cox for a decade. Now they have two younger d tackles with cox still rotating. we have good outside guys like ware and
Micah. Their defenses are consistently more physical and better against the run. we both build up the o lines and receiver corps. you can argue daks a better qb. they have two number one wr s and a top te. they made two superbowls in the last 5 years. we often rush the passer and cover well but struggle defending the run. Is that the key?
short answer YES

Philly is a divisional rival. We have to go through them to win the division. They have been the dominant NFCE for the last 25 years. These are all facts and why discussing the Eagles relative to the Cowboys makes perfect sense here.

You don't like it because deep down, it makes you cry. Deep down you realize Jerry has ran this ship rudderless for over two decades and a bitter rival has just done it better. It bugs you. It makes you sad and angry.

It's why you come up with stupid things like, "hey where was that DL when Dak dropped 40 on them!!!!" Great. And then a month later, we got fired out of the early playoffs lose cannon again and Philly went to their 2nd SB In 5 years. But hey, maybe we can put that Thanksgiving Day Trophy in the case while Philly puts another NFC Champ trophy in theirs.

LOL.

Unequivocally, YES, they are better.

Do folks really need reminding that we haven’t sniffed a Conference Championship game (nevermind a Super Bowl) in 27 YEARS.

Yes, the Eagles are light years ahead in how they approach building a winning team. They drafted Carson Wentz and helped them win a Super Bowl. The guy regressed and then traded him away for peanuts to the Colts, they aren't afraid to look for the right guy. Dallas in the other hand, only like their QBs in the 4th round or later. This front office believes they can win with anything behind center.

In the last 20 years, only 4 QBs drafted outside the 1st round have won the Super Bowl: Tom Brady (The Goat), Brad Johnson (Tampa Elite D), Drew Brees (Hall of Famer), and Russell Wilson (The Legion of Boom D). I'm not including the Eagles Nick Foles because Wentz was playing at an MVP level until he blew his knee out against the Rams.

The bigger issue was probably the trade off between resigning Gallup and letting Cooper walk.

mr Sydia--- i woke up today...i just want to kick butt....and a little concerned Rams lost yesterday we will be in their cross hairs as it seems every teams gets

so prepared to play us....and we must keep pedal to the metal....glad we are 4-2 must be 5-2 after we play rams....get Derrick Henry or get some bruiser

to complement our twitchy RB's....we need another receiver...another dominant DB if possible...because we have the Sheagles and 40-Whiners licking

their chops at us....we must turn the page on this ...uh uh uh ...we dont make it past divisional round...duh duh.....lets get the touch back we had first 3

games???.....yes we have had some injuries....get more lineman....just sick and tired that Sheagles and just keep getting players and they never in cap

hell and its all Stephen thinks about....its really ticking me off.....sorry overly emotional today...i am a fan...fanatic

they had a highly rated knucklehead fall into their lap at pick 20. we grabbed a project in the 20s not exactly apples to apples. jordan davis has taken time as well and he was much higher rated
Doesn't matter to me, i'm not asking for much. BULL rush your man into the next city, get a tackle for loss, just make an impression that's all i'm not saying be all pro

Clear differences in how Philly and Dallas team build.

1 - Philly places more emphasis on the lines than we do. They have concluded that if you can be strong up the middle on both sides of the ball that gives you a fighting chance. Now we do spend some resources on the OL and finally used a first round pick on a DT but if Roseman had been our GM, there is no way they would have passed on Torrence in the last draft in the 2nd round for an injured TE.

2 - Philly admits mistakes quickly. They don't languish with bad coaches or potential problems or poor trends. Pederson won them a SB but something was off the last few years. Philly basically zipped him. They cut bait on Chip Kelly early. Wentz? They didn't mess around with him when things went south. They just found a way to get rid of him. Here in Dallas? Jerry struggles to admit mistakes. It will happen again this offseason if the team scuffles again - he'll keep Dak and McCarthy when it will be obvious that an offensive tear down might be needed.

3 - Roseman is just better at trades than Jerry. The value Philly gets when trading or acquiring players is ridiculous. Even go back to the Wentz trade, the way Roseman was able to manuever around and ship off mediocre players (Kiko Alonso anyone?) to help them move up to get in a position to then get Wentz. Swift this offseason was a total steal. Getting Indy's first round pick for Wentz? ***. Jerry has had a couple of decent trades but he doesn't have the skill or ability to pull off some of those things Roseman has.

4 - They manage the cap better. Now Jerry isn't awful at cap management but Philly exploits the rules around the cap better than most. Quick question for you fans. The Eagles spent a lot of money on AJ Brown, Hurts, etc. recently. Would you be surprised to know they are projected to have almost $60MM in cap space next year? They were in bad shape in 2017 with some aging guys, some bloated contracts, Wentz's big hit and yet 5 years later, Roseman rebuilt their cap, their team and they were in the SB. Jerry hasn't been able to that in 20+ year, let alone in 5.

One can argue that if you look at the last 7-8 years, Dallas has outdrafted Philly. Roseman had a run of some really bad first round picks. But building a team is more than just hitting on your first rounder. Jerry and his boob son collect players. That's it. There's no ryhme or reason or method or plan. They collect players. They just come up with a roster And then expect their hand picked coach to mold that into something workable. Roseman has a plan and builds a team. He has a clear plan in place every offseason and it shows.

We are basically anchored to a stubborn old man who despite MOUNTAINS of evidence he's not doing it right, still thinks he's smarter than everyone in the NFL.

Oh ok, my apologies, I hear you loud and clear. If we want to make those steps instead of hyping the fans up like we've already done something great, now is the time!!!!! I like your mode of thinking, it's time to stop getting kicked, we need to do the kicking!!!!!!!
