Is Prescott another Romo?

Romo is rarely talked about except by Cowboys fans. Most of the times when people talk Romo, they mention how he was divisive, a choker, and his streak of 1-5, 8-8, 8-8, and 8-8 kinda sticks out like a sore thumb.

Not saying Eli is elite, but Romo literally watched from his couch while Eli hoisted up 2 Super Bowl titles. lol.
Yea because Eli played on a team with good defenses

In his career, he has never won a playoff game where his team gave up more than 20 points.

Every single playoff game Romo lost, his defense gave up more than 20 points

Romo was one of the best pure passers in the game, as well as a magician in the pocket. Dak is more durable and seems to have a more effective leadership trait.

Here's the thing. Dak inherited the team that was built for Romo. 2016 was easily the most talented roster Dallas had during Tony's tenure, and Dak more or less reaped those benefits throughout his rookie contract.

It's difficult to compare the two because Tony was forced to carry the weight of the team on his shoulders throughout his career. If we're being honest with ourselves, that's not something Dak has had to do during his tenure in Dallas. Having Zeke and a strong offensive line can't be overlooked.

Personally, I'd take a prime Tony Romo on this team ahead of Dak and not think twice about it...and I like Dak Prescott. I just think he brought more explosiveness to the table, and a consistent running game, as well as an elite defense would be a deadly combination. Just my .02

2-4 and 1-3 yes I’ll say they were indeed the same qb failed by same owner

this franchise finds ways to lose . This great defense has begun to leak oil so we’ll see how it goes the rest of the year

Dak and Romo both had awful defenses preventing them from going further in the playoffs. Dak could've easily gotten us past Green Bay with one more stop on defense.... EASILY. Saying otherwise is just silly.

As for the other games Romo and Dak lost in.... i guess we can imagine all day long what would happen if this went that way, but ultimately Cowboys in the last 26 years has had one main Achilles dragging them down..... it's the defense.

He was injured and didn’t play majority of the games.

Same with Romo sir. His only season below .500 he was injured and didn't play a majority of the games.

Its not hard to look up.

Unfortunately while they are very different QBs they are currently on the same career path. Hope Dak can change that.

I Like Dak, but we need to stop the top 10 talk. Go to statmuse or other advanced stats sites…. In QBR, air yards per throw, yards per attempt, and other normalized values he’s about average (12-19). Even stats like poor throws and INTs he’s in the mix which is concerning since he missed 5 games.

He CAN totally play like a top 10 QB and even a top 5 QB sometimes. He also sometimes plays like a bottom 10 QB, and that’s put him right about ****calculating**** top 15ish

False narrative-he was the highest rated 4th qtr QB of his time!
How’d that work out in the playoffs? Kinda like Dak…they both suck come playoff time. IMO…Romo was a lot better than Dak but he was nowhere close to elite.

Dak not near a good as Tony.
Just step back and think what Tony would have done with today’s defense.
Especially if he had 6 years of experience under his belt.
2014 Romo was so much better 2007 Romo, for example.
Hence....he made All Pro
The last Dallas QB to do that was about 40 years ago.

Dak is another Romo… except when Romo would throw a pick he had potential for another 5 picks and that game was toast. Dak throws picks but he’s kind of whatever about it. So he’s already ahead of Romo same time frame.

Oh jeez
If Linehan didn't design a offense that kept Dak out of the pocket for the 1st 2 years he'd be out of the league

Romo had twice the talent than Prescott ever had.

We'd be much better off with him. Before his body broke down, obviously.

Even after his body broke down.
Shoulda gone with Romo in 2016 when he came back. If he broke again, we're back to Dak. If he doesn't break, we have *2* franchise QBs, we trade 1, and try to make a SB run.
Going with Romo would have given us two bites at the apple.

I wouldn't even try. Stats is one of the main things painting Dak in a positive light, so not sure where you're getting your info. Besides, the opinion hasn't changed this week. Most of the NFL guys still have Dak in the top 10 since he didn't actually lose to the Texans, just barely beat them. Just like Allen barely beat the Lions, Brady barely beat the Saints, and Hurts barely beat the Colts. And so forth...
