I thought he really set the tone for the defense last year, but struggled late with injuries and conditioning. Moving Lee to the Will is dependent on McClain being able to stay in there. I don't think I trust Rivers or Brinkley to have the type of impact McClain had physically. What do you think?
To answer the OP's question, Sean Lee is better than McClain, so I'm not sure how that can be true.
I think a lot of you guys are misunderstanding my contention. We are moving Lee to Will to try to extend his play and reduce wear and tear. This hinges on McClain being able to successfully play in the middle. If he isn't an impact player, then they are wasting Lee's talents.

Hitchens said he is most comfortable at MLB. Brinkley is a good 2 down MLB.
It seems as if it would be easier to replace McClain at MLB than to replace Lee at WLB based on the backups. I guess that Hitchens would get the first shot to replace Lee at WLB assuming that McClain is playing MLB.
From what I have seen, Hitchens is playing SLB now. If you try to replace McClain with Hitch, you are changing 2 positions to replace 1. I think Lee would be more effective at MLB than Hitchens, but since we haven't seen them play together, it's all conjecture.
