Based on ability and stats he is absolutely having a Hall of Fame career. Based on team accomplishments like wins/postseason wins, he is not. Based on perception, which in his case is not reality IMO, he is not a Hall of Famer. If he wins a SB before his career is over, he should make it. If he finishes his career with some playoff wins and continues to put up HoF #s, as he has throughout his career, he has a legit chance IMO. If he continues to play at the very high level he has throughout his career (top 5 all-time QB rating most of his career), his overall numbers will put him in the HoF conversation like other QBs without hardware (Moon, Fouts, etc).

He needs a SB win to get in IMO. Only way he does that is if he pulls an Elway and this friggin team gets it's crap together and maybe he can get one at 37. His talent has been wasted since 06 unfortunately. If Parcells didn't go ultra conservative against the Seahawks who that year had a secondary of guys called in from the street they may have been able to make a run then as well. They should have just let Tony air it out that day and take whatever happens, but Parcells chose to play conservative and we all know how that ended up.

He could of been if he had the right supporting cast. Imagine him in Jacksonville, with no jerry jones or media.

He's closer to the Hall of Infamy.

He's snatched defeat from the jaws of victory all too often, a Shakespearean figure whose talent will sadly never be truly realized in championships.

At minimum, he would need a couple of deep playoff runs.
A SB appearance makes it interesting
A SB win probably would do it

The numbers are there, but I think he has no chance if he were to retire today.

No, plain and simple. There is nothing there that shows he is a HOF QB. The last decade has shown QB's putting up huge stats so the idea that his stats out him over the top doesn't ring true for me.

As of this moment, yep. Same boat legacy wise, sort of. McNabb was the 2nd overall pick in '99 (which can be argued as a positive, or a negative, when compared to Romo), is arguably the best QB in Eagles history, 4 NFC Championship appearances and got to a Super Bowl. Still, very similar careers, though legacy wise McNabb is likely slightly greater than Romo at this point.

Similar careers?

Only. If you are deaf dumb or blind.

Romo has never seen a season to compare with McNabb.

What a statement.

Hell..

Danny White has had better career stats than Romo and he's not in.

Something is a miss..right?

A 34 year old QB coming off back surgery playing with one of the most dysfunctional organizations in the NFL, with one playoff win, and whether it's fair or not, has been labeled as a choker in win or go home situations. The answer is no, he will not come close to even being considered for the Hall of Fame.

Funny yet sad fact of the day, when discussing our very own players, if you swapped the background colors to the Philadelphia team colors you'd have no way of knowing if this is a Dallas Cowboy forum or not.

Try it. :(

Well when threads like "Is Romo a Hall of Famer" are started, what else do you expect? Facts are facts, regardless of the player or team you root for.
