Jerry doomed Romo the second he diddnt clear out the entire coaching staff at the conclusion of 2010. His career will always be one of "If" and "might have". It sucks as he seems like a truly likeable person and gave us hope after a decade of picking through the NFL dumpster, but that is life as a Cowboys fan.

Romo gets credit for individual stats and gets hammered for team results....but just a reminder....

Dallas has a record of 63-45 with Romo as QB and has never had a losing season (4 winning seasons, 3 .500 seasons) when he was QB for most or all of the year.
Only a small group of QBs can say that.

You are right only a small group of qbs can say they produce mediocre results. Few wins championships and most suck. Being in themiddle can be worse than being real bad

Don't look at it that way. Consider this instead. CowboysZone is a stress reliever. It is a place where folks can pound their chests and scream "STELLA!" all day long. This site is a real asset for angry cowboys fans. Just think. If it were not for sites like CowboysZone, you would be hearing about this instead:

http://i356.***BLOCKED***/albums/oo4/DallasEast1701/Crazed_zpsed506ad9.jpg

This site can definitely be a stress reliever to some, but if a Dallas fan truly needs to release some stress, then they should get themselves a Jerry Jones stress head/ball to squeeze throughout the day.

Mad that Dallas lost? Squeeze that Jerry Jone's stress head!
Mad that Dallas drafted a TE in the first/second round? Squeeze that insanely huge egotistical Jerry Jones stress head!
Mad that Dallas missed the playoffs, again? Squeeze it!
And if squeezing doesn't help, try something different! Burn it! Torture it! Or whatever you want to do to Jerry but can't, Lol.

Also, nice photo-shop picture, I love the "Get in the Zone!" advertisement on the right haha.

Seriously though, this site should think about selling "Jerry Jone's stress heads/balls". I know two things for sure, this site would become the next billionaire company/site, and overall posts would have a happier mood, especially after going a round or two with their Jerry Jones stress ball lol.

I'm not at all advocating Romo for HOF.

But Danny White's individual stats are not anywhere near as good as Romo's.

White had.....
  • less yards,
  • less TDs,
  • worse QB rating,
  • worse completion %,
  • more int,
  • much higher int %

Worse in all measurable areas.
His teams were better though, so that helped.

Maybe.

But I place Danny White ahead of Romo in Cowboy history.

Division titles, NFC Championship appearances, was not just a QB but our punter and a darn good one.

Romo may play for the next 2-3 years if he's lucky.

But he will not surpass White in what he did for the Franchise.

Romo is going nowhere and his overall health has repeatedly caused him to lose game time.

It's not even close in my mind.

I'm only interested in actual results, not hypotheticals.

That's the issue with today's fans for this team..

they have learned to accept statistics for team accomplishments.

And your comment about not thinking Romo is HofF worthy..

is spot on.

Romo is going to go down as one of those quirky players that never really got over the hump in his career.

The cowboys with Romo at qb are far closer to the browns stature in the league then Seattle GB or the giants

Honestly, Dallas and Browns are both 3-13 / 5-11 teams. The only difference is that Dallas has Romo at QB, and the Browns have Brian Hoyer, Brandon Weeden, and Jason Campbell. As for GB, Giants, and Seattle, Dallas is close to all those teams except Seattle. Dallas is a much better team then the Giants(imagine Dallas w/o Romo), and they're not that far off from GB. Seattle is a different story altogether, they're light years ahead of any team, especially at home.

I truly hate to break it to you after your rant, but QB wins are not a real thing. They were made up by someone with a really, really poor grasp of the ultimate team sport.

Not yet, but his career is far from over

I agree that his career is far from over. But I hope you will agree that it is far-fetched that he'd ever return to a playoff game. Not with his ability to choke or be injured as much as his being surrounded by an inconsistent offense and a defense that is now legendary for its brittleness and fecklessness.

Nope. He'd probably need 2 rings to get in, IMO.

His decent numbers have been overshadowed by great QBs in this era. Brady, Manning, Brees. (all of whom have rings, as well).

He doesn't have the Superbowl success of other QBs in this era, Roethlissberger (x2) and Eli (x2).

And new comer, Aaron Rodgers has already surpassed his numbers and ring count already too.

I don't buy any of that. I get you are disappointed over the last few years, but Romo can lead this team to a deep playoff run.

But to simplify... is Phillip Rivers a HOF'er?

They're the same guy, but Rivers actually has a bit better numbers.

My heart says "I hope he write." but my head say: "Hmm, good weed, huh?"
As you know, my heart is better than my head.
But what FA or Draft magic will propel us from 8-8 to the playoffs? What defensive magician will produce for us a defense that is not one of the worst in Cowboys and NFL histories? What second coming will take Jerra away from GM?
we will go 8-8 or 7-9 this year and Romo will show quick deterioration in quickness and agilty and INTs. He'll half to score 50 points per game to counter this awful defense.

Romo will never be in anther playoff team unless he backs up those REAL QBs in Foxboro or in Denver or in Seattle.
Now you half me in tears. Are you happy? I am not.

Obviously it's the same answer as Romo. There is absolutely no reason he couldn't get in... if the Chargers can win it all.

Frankly, these kind of debates are becoming less necessary as time goes on. With the media's obsession with turning the QB into a starting pitcher, I seriously doubt that they will let any more Tarkentons or Marinos into the hall. Especially now that guys like Manning and Favre hold the Madden-like video game passing records those guys held, except with rings. It'd be more productive to speculate if Eli, Ben, Flacco, etc. can get in. Ring-less guys are gonna need 80,000 yards by the time Peyton is through.

No. If he can ever win a championship, yes.

Sadly he seems to be at a point where his numbers are probably good enough but this stigma (deserved or not) that he can't win when it matters is going to keep him from getting in without that ring. It just seems that way to me any way, plus that year Kitna came in and did well is still held over his head by a lot of people it seems too. It's kinda crazy if you ask me how much weight is put on Romo to single handedly bring this team success, but I guess that just comes with the territory of being a Dallas Cowboy quarterback.

If Brees retired now I dont know if he's a HOFer so I definitely don't think that Romo is.
