Is Sheldon Richardson worth a 2nd round pick?

Well he'd be by far our best de fensive lineman as soon as he walked in the building.
Yes he would. The Jets play Sheldon as a 4i or 4 in the 3-4 base this guy is 3T and a very good one at that. Leonard Williams is a better 4
Marinelli 's line scheme values interior pressure slightly more so then exterior. 3 Tech is a very key position
It's the reason we don't have a big 320+ 1T

Would you give up a second round pick for a guy that is one failed drug test away from about a years suspension.....before you answer think randy Gregory

Good player but lazy and no heart. I forget what was said but he had an audio tape thst came out before a game this year that kind of turned me off. Just seems like the type to get paid and not give a **** after

I just don't believe the Jets would be one of the teams Romo wants to play for. Jerry won't trade him to a team that is rebuilding.
I think most if not all of the teams Romo will want to play for will want trade for him. I dont think Houston would even pursue him given the amount amount of money they have tied up in Osweiler. Jets arent as bad a destination for him as people think. Good veteran receiving corp. Lots of talent on defense. So so OL, but much better then Denvers. A good QB and they may be able to win 11 games next year. If he is crossing like NY and Buffalo off his list to go to a team like Denver where he wont last 4 games behind there OL, he deserves what he gets

Him not wanting to be a Brown is understandable. But if he is expecting teams on the cusp to jump on him, he is going to be very dissapointed. IMO teams like Buffalo and NY, that a good QB makes them legit playoff contenders is his best bet.

Not a good locker room guy. I've been an advocate of trying those types in the past but it clearly isn't going to work with this regime.
Yes, Garrett has not had much success with character issue type players.

I think Greg Hardy would have worked out if Jimmy or Tuna was the HC. I think Garrett is the best option for Jerry's Cowboys but he obviously has weak areas.

As crazy as this might sound, I think he has a better chance at competing with the Patriots on the Bills or Jets then he does competing with the Raiders on the Broncos. Raiders are going to blow that gap wide open in 2017. Denver is getting very close to a rebuilding stage and they probably should have started after Manning left

No.

1.5 sacks in 14 games started in '16.

Plus he's on the edge of being suspended.

Finally he doesn't seem like a great character guy.

Is there any DT that would be a 2nd rouner that has comparable talent ?
If the answer is yes - then no, no trade.
But, I want to think Richardson just wants out of NY. I would be salivating putting him in the DT rotation. Crawford would then be the odd man out.
If it happened I would be wary of his problems, but the talent would make me want it ...

How is he one drug test away from a year suspension? He was suspended 1 game for violating personal conduct policy. He hasn't even got the 4 game ban for illegal substances and not to mention 10 games comes after that. Where are you guys getting this information from?

I wouldn't do a second. Maybe a third. Depends. Rather not trade a high pick for guy to leave for big money. And we're not gonna franchise him.

It makes to rotate him and Richardson and bring in Thornton on run downs. You're talking maybe 30% snaps anyways. And run Richardson at 3 and Collins and 1 on pass downs. That would make Crawford and McClain completely irrelevant. You have 2 guys in one postion that will account for 75%of snaps at both spots, you can clear up alot of the clutter on the line that forces us to go deep at the spot and shallow elsewhere
Thornton proved utterly worthless this year.

Jets star defensive end Sheldon Richardson drove his Bentley as fast as 143 miles per hour with three passengers, including a 12-year-old child, while possessing a fully loaded handgun and reeking of marijuana....

Still not worth a second though with his contract situation but I would think about a 3rd
