Is this the lowest the fanbase has ever been?

Not even close. There has been some lean years worse than this. There is a good amount of talent on the roster. That hasn't always been the case.
That talent is massively overpaid, or will be massively overpaid. Add the lack of depth, our shining light rookie goes down to his second serious injury an inability to attract/even approach a top innovative HC and a Jerry, who's losing his temper, lucidity as well as his meddling.

Yes...I have never seen it this bad under Jerry's ownership. Just me, but I'm still not convinced something major isn't going on personal/family-wise. Maybe Jerry's health or maybe he and his family have decided to sell the team ......pure speculation of course. Notice we have not heard a sound from Stephen Jones. Usually, he will send out a few buffers to deflect criticism of the team/Jerry if it gets too bad.......nothing.

This is a multi-billion-dollar franchise Jerry is operating like a local Dollar General store.

I bailed when I saw that Dak got his contract. But it was a long time coming I was disgusted with Romo too. Over the years leading up to this I threw out all my jerseys, hats and wall plaques with pictures of players. My man cave now has been reduced to a second family room.
It feels great, I just feel sorry for all those people who don't want to let go and have been lifelong fans like I was. I watch that Bills game the other week and I just was cheering like crazy for Josh Allen. But I didn't hate Lamar Jackson I thought he was fantastic. It was Mark Andrews who dropped the ball. I look back and a guy like Lamar Jackson isn't losing the game like Dak loses it. It's just nice to watch some decent playoff football being played by the QBs even though someone has to win and someone has to lose. Unfortunately we never got that from Dak.

Been reading all the threads here and listening to constant ridicule on the media of Jethro and Team.

There doesn’t seem to be any optimism from anyone.

Even some of the diehard homers on this board have disappeared or changed their tune.

A lot of lifers here, do you consider this the lowest the fanbase has ever felt about the team?

I remember paper bags on head in Landry’s last year and Jimmy’s first year.

Fans were low after the Campo years until a rejuvenation shot of Parcells.

But is this the worst it’s ever been?
the lowest the die hard fans have been in a while. probably the 4th time in past 30 years. but the casual and fringe fans are ho-hum.

It’s low because they refuse to get better. They only draft and when those 1st rounders don’t hit it sets you back. Also, our highest paid QB in the world is injured again. And he’s getting old. He looked awful this past season before said injury.

One last thing, people got their hopes up that we would hire a stud HC. Now they will hope to bring in FA’s. None of that will happen.

Can’t understand what all the fuss is about…:flagwave:

100% as far as I’m concerned.

The frustration for me is that everyone with a brain can understand Jerry and Stephen are mismanaging the team. They seem to think they’re the only team in the league that has to deal with the cap. They bungle everything from contracts to negotiations. The realization that this problem won’t go away because they own the team is what kills me.

As an aside, the Overshown injury is what really capped this as the worst season of memory for me.
This past offseason sold it to me.

They dragged their feet on Dak and CDL.
Let Tua and Love re-sign months prior to getting serious with Dak.
Maybe they'll let Dak play it out. Nope.

They let Jefferson sign first, and still dragged with CDL.
Know he'll hold out? Cool, miss most of TC, and it showed the first portion of the season.

They let the entire coaching staff play on one year deals, even after that Packers beat down.
It's just gross incompetence. Got a 82 year old drunk and his son being the key guys in contract talks shows. Their best deals have been the deals they've lost, such as the Randy Gregory deal. Wanted him till he balked on that verbiage and then just left them for Denver.

Surround themselves with yes-men looking for a nice paycheck. Stephen and his stupid pie talk, but then he throws out bad deals to their own players while smugly stating they don't want to overpay in Free agency is the french kiss to this shitshow FO.

2009. That first went for the Roy Williams trade.

In my opinion of course, but in 2000-2002 at least it was during a time with a changing of the old guard. Aikman was getting concussions faster than Tua is prior to 2000, Mike had to retire and Emmitt was still good but slowing down. 2002 at least gave us some hope with Roy Biscuit Williams and Antonio Bryant.
And the last championship was 5-8 years ago. It was a rebuilding era, with a front office drafting busts.

This stretch we have a top 3 WR in his prime and a top 3 edge in his prime. Even in our winning years the team looked out of focus and easily knocked out of the playoffs.
We are set for purgatory of around .500 to 1 and done in the playoffs with those two players.
With a front office that believes free agency is forbidden to building a winning team, while bleeding out depth/mid starters every year due to their 4 year sentence being up.
The draft just replaces guys we've lost, not building on anything.
:hammer:As long as they talk about the Cowboys the money will continue to roll in.

1. Everything went downhill in the mid/late 80s after the playoff loss to the Rams. That was the lowest point.
2. I'd follow that with the Campo/Quincy/Hutchison years.
3. The present

If we're taking into account the cumulative effect of Jerry over the years, then yes the present(#3) moves to #1 for me.

Of course it’s the cumulative effect. This isn’t just comparing 1 poor season to another. It’s decades of crap management and nepotism!

People who are crying and complaining must have missed the Campo 15-33 three year run . Was horrible .
Then he went out and got Parcells or the fans would’ve ran him straight out of town like they should now! This isn’t about comparing 3 seasons when we’re going on decades of ineptitude!

Its really ironic you say this as the Eagles await another conference championship game, a place we haven't been in 30 years. Wow
What’s really sad are all the teams that continuously lap us with different rosters. Philly has had like 3-4 different teams make it to the NFCCG/Super Bowl since the early 2000’s. Even Tampa Bay has had two. I could go on and on. You’d think the law of averages would work, but not with Bozo in charge.

If should be the lowest. They haven’t done anything for 3 decades now while we watch every other team in the NFL get to at least a championship game. You would think that would drive anyone to change what’s going on but instead we’re getting more of the same crap from Jerry, nothing. I really don’t know why anyone would want to give up money to go to a game to support Jerry Jones.

Absolutely. There is always a tipping point with people in any aspect of life. At some point, you've had enough. The huge difference in this point and 1989, is Jerry was a young owner back then who really wanted to win. He kept out the way and let the football people do their work. And it worked. But at some point, his ego took hold and he has never let go. He already got his 3 rings. He will go to his grave a winner in his mind.

Team is in free fall at the moment with ownership incapable of fixixing it. You used to be able to count on doing well in the division. Not anymore. Cowboys at best third in the division and probably not long till the Gnats pass them. BTW even a great draft wont pull them out of it. O Line in flux, DLine a mess, QB mediocre, HC likely a company man. Not looking good at all.

I don’t think so. It’s lowest we’ve been in several years but there has been lower points in our history which I go back to the early 60’s.

2010 after 1-7 start.
2002 after 3 consecutive 5-11 seasons
1988 after 3 consecutive losing seasons which was first time since expansion years

Even in our glory years we had some very low moments after some of our most heartbreaking championship losses.

Perhaps what’s a little different now is more and more fans are finally coming to realize the extreme obstacles our ownerships personal agendas presents. Which doesn’t provide much hope moving forward. But I’d suggest the first glimpse of some success in regular season many will be hopping back on the wagon only to be disappointed again. It’s a vicious cycle of perpetual dysfunctional funk with Jethro Ball.

We didn’t need any help from free agency, nothing that they had was going to help us. We didn’t have an offensive line we had injuries. Our quarterback was hurt people wanted to tank. Why should we have use free agency
I'll have what he's having
