It all comes down to Dak Prescott is not a big game player

It’s football economics. You can’t have a 60 million cap hit on your cap.
Isn't it also well established that there isn't a 60 million cap hit if it's designated post June 1?

If you are arguing that a deal would be reached that would lower his salary & cap hits and the no trade clause is removed, all of which would make moving him more possible for both the Cowboys & an acquiring team, that would make sense.

But no more money can be guaranteed to this player. Nothing that ties you to him. It all has to be about getting away from him.

When your own fan base has lost all faith in you, national media openly mocks you and teammates are clearly frustrated with you, you are done. It's just a matter of how much longer it plays out.

It’s not what I want. Dak’s agent has the Cowboys over a barrel. You have to extend him. The contract is made that way. You hope that it’s cap friendly without a no trade clause this time is your only bet.
I don't know how he has us over a barrel. The guy can't play anymore against good teams. Deer in the headlights. And against bad teams he even has trouble scoring TDs. Any scrub can do that. Hit or no hit this team isn't going anywhere with Dak.

And I don't understand why some teams can get rid of their franchise QBs just like that with barely missing a beat. The Eagles did it twice.

Jerry watched Zeke hobble for 2 seasons with Pollard who was clearly better not get enough PT.

While I agree with you Catch, beating Philly now is big. But even Wash can do that.

I hate the timing of bringing in Lance after TC. It would have been nice to get him some action. You have to also remember he’s started only 8 NFL games but has been knocked out for the season twice. He seems very brittle.

I agree with your sentiments 100% on Dak. But getting Trey killed is not the answer. He can't see the field so he is going to tuck the ball and get obliterated by linebackers. And will lose all confidence in the process.

Let him sit and learn. He is a 3rd string bench warmer for a reason at this point of his career. Destroying him now does nothing for the team.
I agree with this. Lance didn't go through the Cowboys' training camp. He still needs time to learn the system. If, for any reason, Dak doesn't play, it's Cooper Rush who will. I do want to keep teaching Lance the system. Get him up to speed and then see what he can do. He's just not up to speed just yet.

Dak blows out Tom Brady in a playoff game, hitting 75% of his passes for 4 TDs, and it gets forgotten about...
Dak did that against Tom? I didn't know they played on field together.

Tom Brady? The LOSER? Isn't that the guy that retired, then unretired, then busted up a marriage then retired again...at 46 years old? And went 8-9 that year?

Wow...incredible accomplishment!

So you think the Cowboys will cut Dak? I don’t think that is in the cards right now. It’s more likely an extension. I don’t think the Cowboys will fall apart this season. If the fall apart or Dak is injured, a release might be on the table.

The fan base are fanatics and the media will be right back on Dak’s side if mean ole Jerrah releases Dak. Some forget that Stephen A and company started questioning the Cowboys when they wouldn’t pay Dak before.

You don’t get to jump off the boat twice, bro.
Lol. I still back Dak. I want him to sign a team friendly extension. Not the 250 million plus he is looking for. Dak today, Dak yesterday, Dak tomorrow, and Dak forever!!!!!! Don’t you forget it!!!!

Dak Prescott is not a big game player.

So you can feed into whatever delusions you may have about him but when the lights start shining the brightest he plays timid and is waiting on someone else to make a play.

Dallas needs to move on from this. We don’t need to pay this kind of money just to win games that Cooper Rush can win.

Beating the Eagles is not some great accomplishment either that will right all wrongs because we have always been good against division opponents.

Dallas needs to make the switch TODAY to Trey Lance.

Don’t wait around and watch the ending we all know will happen with this QB or we will just see what happened Sunday Night again in the Playoffs.
Dak is similar to a Korn Ferry player. Good but not good enough. Simply not consistent enough to reach next level. Unfortunately, Dak is a product of the Jones front office which is responsible for 28 years of futility.
