It look like they have successfully killed all of the Romo magic

Another way to look at that drive is that is what the chargers wanted him to do. 8 and 10 yard passes to Witten are a given. The best player on the team did not get a target. If they are going to double dez run Williams on a deep cross behind the clear out. 5 minutes down 9 you can't win with 8 yard passes over the middle

No, what the Chargers wanted him to do was force the ball into double or triple coverage. He didn't do that and frankly, we would have scored and had a chance to win if Williams doesn't fumble

Yesterday's game was just like the 06 game in Seattle, the secondary was there for the taking and we go all conservative vs the worst pass defense in the league. U want WCO then get the receivers and backs in some 1 on 1 situations. Stop having Beasley doing 7 yard curl routes, get him on the move like the Broncs use Welker. Seems we have the talent, we just never know how to utilize it. Where we're Escobar and Dunbar yesterday, why did we Use Escobar vs the Rams but yesterday nada, zip, zero. I just don't get it with this coaching staff.

Why don't you guys that don't like Romo go root for the Broncos. Your shtick is getting old.

Why? Does he represent the Cowboys? He's our QB ... that's all. There's no reason why we can't wish he were better.

Because he's not the reason the team has 2 losses yet the haters keep saying he is. Anyone with any intelligence knows that's not the case.

But because we don't like our QB, we should find another team to root for?

I guess you were on Quincy Carter and Chad Hutchinson's jock. Hey, if you don't like our QB, go find another team to root for. Poor, poor, poor.

I do not like this romo at all now. I get upset at some of his interceptions he throws but I can live with some of them because atleast he trying to score some points. this romo is to cautious and will not throw down the middle of the field anymore. this new and improved romo is setting this team to fail. he also killing the defense by putting them on the field more and the defense cannot handle it.

Romo, whether gunslinger or bus driver version, was not the problem against SD. He was not the one dropping the drive ending passes or fumbling in the red zone.

I think the slight changes in the offense has limited Romo's strong points. I don't know if he even can can go deep anymore , but the current offense stinks and it is only going to get worse. I think Romo , Ware and Witten has seen their better days and it would have been a perfect time to blow the team up before they signed him to a contract extension. Dallas was/is unprepared to move on from any of these core players.

So let me get this straight, without the "magic" he is 3rd in completion percentage, tied for 3rd in touchdowns, 4th in rating and 2nd in interception percentage... so WITH the magic, what he'd be on top of Peyton Manning right now? 17 TDs and 0 INTs? Is that how bad this team is, we need all-time historic QB play just to be competitive? And this is what Romo haters are on about now? How quaint.

Agreed

There's nothing wrong with criticizing a player for valid reasons. I was speaking to those who come here only to bash Romo. And there are a few of them.

You left out his YPA, which is in the bottom half of the league.

That's what the entire thread is about. His 6.6 somethin YPA is over a full yard less than his career average. 6.6 is Alex Smith, Sam Bradford territory.

I didn't leave anything out... QB rating takes into account YPA and it certainly doesn't have anything to do with what Romo haters are on about. But it's hard to find something wrong with 72% completion percentage and 1 interception in 152 attempts, so now Romo haters are all up in arms about YPA.

I'll say it again because Romo haters can't read: 3rd in completion percentage, tied for 3rd in touchdowns, 4th in rating and 1 interception in 152 attempts... so what more do you want? How perfect does our qb have to be to drag our mediocre team to competitiveness? Does he have to be the best in the league?

Let's chill on labeling people "Romo haters" just because they don't like the conservative style QB he's turned into. Romo's my favorite player, so let's stop with the assumptions.

You can keep ignoring YPA and try to sweep it under the rug by mentioning QB rating, but Romo's uncharacteristcally low YPA this year shows just how gunshy he's become.

If Romo were a basketball player, he'd be a guy with a high FG%, but only because he shot nothing but lay-ups. Too afraid to shoot anything outside of the paint.

If the Romo hating shoe fits, I suppose you can wear it... I'm glad to hear you're not among them. The only thing being swept under the rug is people not understanding the link between YPA, completion percentage and risk/reward. Did you like the 5 touchdowns and 8 interceptions that Romo had through 4 games last year better?

You can criticize a player and still be a fan of the guy. Grow up and lose the petty insults.

I'm not going to continue to beat a dead horse about Romo's YPA. The improved ball security is nice to see, but not at the expense of the offense's big play ability. Even Stephen called Romo out and said he needs to give Dez more looks, even if it's tight coverage.

Well, if they would find a way to direct some of those short passes to Dez and Harris instead of Witten who can't run away from a sloth I would say it's possible.

Sloth? That's funny in a painful, but great analogy, kinda way. :D
