It's a business for Jerry, it's a game for me....I don't like losing, pisses me off. Part of the game; still pisses me off and i don't think about the draft until after the season. Doesn't make any difference what we want, may as well enjoy the wins, when we can get them.
Whatever floats your boat but wins with nothing on the line are absolutely meaningless. Be nice to get back to winning games that matter instead of beating scrub teams with no shot at a playoff spot.

Yes...fine...I get it. People thinking that 4th was a sure thing for us...I don't get.
Sure thing.. no, but you could find a legit player who can contribute. Not an overpriced 3rd QB who will never see the field. You see what they're paying him to never play while locking up an unnecessary roster spot. I don't care what they get in the 4th, it's better than that.

The Cowboys should truly be in tank mode, but they won't do it.

They'll screw up and manage to get to 7-10 and pick 15th

There is still half a season to play. Many of the losing team will play each other and someone has to win. The Cowboys play the Giants and Panthers. The Dolphins Jets and Patriots all have to play each others. Last year the Giants were 6-11 and picked 6th. I think the Cowboys will be drafting in the top 10 which is good enough for them to grab an impact player if they don't do something stupid.

I am more worried that this draft class may not be strong in the positions they need. But we'll see how the college season plays out too.
We need players in multiple positions so we will have plenty to choose from.

Start Trance against the Giants and Carolina.

Just took a look at the standings. Including Dallas there are 17 awful teams with 2,3 or 4 wins. Have to keep losing. 6-7 wins might land you the 14th pick. That would add insult to injury after this crap show.
I also believe due to our strength of schedule we will lose some tiebreakers.

They been sinking for 30 years. lol It's a vicious cycle with no end in sight. Don't get too excited about those wins that never lead anywhere.

The worst part is that even if we get a high draft pick it will be used to "help Dak" instead of replace him.
Wouldnt surprise me that Jerry places more sacrificial lambs on the alter of Dak...................Jerry, common mate is Dak one of your Love Childs?
Gotta be gotta be.............. :muttley:

That doesn't mean you just throw daft picks in the toilet. There have been some great players taken in every round. This team is loaded with head scratching decisions and Lance is certainly one of them. Since this team refuses to utilize FA they certainly couldn't afford to make that move with the many needs they currently have.

Exactly - as long as we don't win more than 5 games we will be top 5
The thing we have going against us is strength of schedule. Draft position is determined by win/loss record and the tiebreaker is SOS. When teams have the same record the team with the lowest SOS gets to pick first. Dallas has the highest SOS among the teams that are bad which means we lose the tiebreaker to any team with the same record. I think we have a great shot at being top 10 but top 5 will be difficult

Dak was struggling and having a bad year. The offense was anemic.

But what we saw on Sunday was a whole different animal. Rush was abysmal and the offense cratered and disappeared.

There is a difference between a C- and an F on your report card
Sometimes you have to make the F to make enough change to do something about it. Neither grade gets you the prize.

This is what happens to SOME teams that win, year after year. They end up drafting at the tail end of each round where the picking aren't as good/great as they would be if they drafted near the top of each round. Over time, if a team doesn't employee good football minded upper management that has the ability and vision to see future wants and needs to keep a team relevant, the 2024 Cowboys are what you end up with, which is an over hyped, underachieving mess that could take years to fix............................

Yep, nice call. Could still fix itself as teams beat up on each other, but generally right.

Doesn’t matter though, Jerry is taking the Boise RB at pick 3 or pick ten. Have to recreate those triplets.

Also, this won’t be the last top ten pick they have for some time. Until they realize that they aren’t football geniuses, this is going nowhere.

Must suck to have all the money in the world to do whatever, but you can’t buy the thing that you really want. Has to actually be earned and you can’t do it.

The only two games left we have to worry about them winning is the Giants and Panthers. I would even give those teams the edge right now with how bad the Cowboys offense is. It's by far the worst in the NFL right now.

We can only win 1 more game just to have a chance at top 5.

The Giants game worries me.
Does everyone realize that Dallas BARELY beat NYG with nearly a full deck? I think that was the last game before all the injuries hit. If the Giants aren't taking on Thanksgiving, they should be favored. Not to mention thats one of the few games Dak actually played well in. And it was a nail-biter all game til the final series. Don't worry. Dallas very likely loses.

The game that Dallas probably wins is Week 18 since Washington is playing its 3rd stringers.
