It's almost over

When people stop buying tickets and the stadium is empty every week…and buying cowboy merch….then he will care….
Doesn’t look like that is going to happen though.
Well what is happening is there are more opposing fans every season and it has been getting worse so while the money for home games will still be rolling in, our home games will feel more and more like an away game.

Longtime fans like myself are losing interest, and even those in football who were once associated with the great Cowboys teams of the past are slowly disappearing.
Fans who were old enough to enjoy the success of the early nineties are also getting older.
But the fanbase of children who have never known how good this Cowboys franchise once was is Jerry's legacy. And it will not be as strong as the fans that made this "America's Team".
Most of us older fans are fed up. We KNOW how bad it has gotten because we witnessed the teams that made this franchise great.
Jerry's circus hype is not selling anymore. His arrogance in kicking the fans in the teeth as he insisted on shoving incompetence in players and coaches down the throats of the very fans that made this franchise the most loved franchise in sports is finally catching up with him.
That $260 million abomination of a contract he slipped to his latest pet player and that he tried to pass off with the hoopla from last years opening day is the poison pill that finished off most long-time fans.
I don't think these Cowboys will enjoy the fan support this season that they have in the past.
The charade is almost over.
i have not been as involved this year with all the mini camp battles etc. idk if training camp will pull me in? just kinda waiting for the season to start

Doesn't guarantee it but it sure makes the odds go up if you have it
And it sure makes the odds dwindle when your quarterback is the team's weak link.
Every other player can be playing at an elite level, but it's wasted when the quarterback single handedly shuts down the offense.

That already happened. Last year. Middle ofnlast season i predicted Jerry is going to make a splash move...enter stage right George Pickens and look at how much interest he has generated.

How did that happen? The cowboys have had some pretty good offenses for a few years. The defense has been a definite issue. You can say the exact same thing in other QBs. Hurts had the best OL in football. Top 3 WR group. Top 4 TE a 2000 yard rusher and top defense in the league. When he was missing a couple of those they had a 6 game losing streak and first roundmplayoff exit.

But you have said your piece. Just quit and leave. Yet here we are you keep.posting.

Are you going to leave or not?

I never said I was leaving.
I stay here and speak my peace when I feel the need.
Get over it.
You really should try to be a man instead of waffling on every issue to try and fit in.
You don't have an opinion; you simply take whichever side allows you to bash others.

My perspective.
I kind of gave up hope they would ever make it back to relevance when Derrick Henry was there for the taking and they passed on it. Didn't even make an effort. I think Stephen said they didn't have the space. I'll never believe that. I'll admit it wouldn't have put the 'Boys in the Big One but it would have shown effort.
I look forward to college games between top 25 schools more than the 'Boys games.

Decorum prevents most here from sharing their opinion of what you’ve posted in this thread.

Part-time football fans, they were never invested anyways.

Because he can’t lol. It sounds all good to say you are quitting…but they don’t actually quit. Then they justify it by saying they don’t purchase anything or their ratings don’t count….as if the engagement doesn’t help.
Every year the usual suspects come in here to complain how much they don’t care anymore. Yet they seem really upset when the Cowboys lose, sooooo…..

That part. They are the most emotional part of this fan base. They say they will quit but are always here with the rest of us.

It’s a VERY vocal minority, and a good reminder that online is not real life. Most fans aren’t as dug in as to post on a message board (which are kinda dated in abd of itself).

No one likes a loser, and atp the incompetence is indefensible.

Refusing to change management structure after a prolonged period of failure is completely ego driven. Fans supporting that kind of behavior helps enable it.
It is ego driven but also famillially driven or both overlap. Family members and very close friends in Cowboys and other organizations tend to be nepotistically vaccinated from viral failure-accountability.

Well, some are happy when they lose. So they can continue to spew their garbage.

I'll be curious where the state of sports in general will be in 20-30 years. I cannot get my kids, 16 and 11, interested in all sports at all. Just YouTube streaming etc.

Yes.
Friends I know, that have kids in this age range. Most are not interested in sports either.
And the few that were. Gave up after a few years.
One was playing football in high school. Not sure if he will play this year. I will need to check.

Speak for yourself. I’m not complaining about players money when the owner is raking money hand over fist. But that’s just me. I enjoy my team. Win, lose, or draw.
