He will give us the first shot to reclaim him with a verbal agreement before the legal tampering period starts. That's plenty of compensation.
I understand but the argument is based on if he walks. Regardless whether we believe he will or not.

Nothing else adds up . Except of course we have the worst FO in NFL.

I’d of been fine trading him for some draft capital if they didn’t have intentions to resign him.
What leads you to believe Dak would agree to any trade, it’s a big chip in his favor and one that JJ can’t leverage, Dak wants a big payday and wants to be in Dallas with zero accountability for his poor play that’s why he wanted the no trade clause. Either Jerry pays his price or he picks where he wants to play. He knows the most likely outcome is Jerry will cave and he wins and he doesn’t have to worry about success on the field, worse case is he walks some team pays him and it doesn’t matter if his losing ways continue he’s got the main objective covered, his guaranteed money, it’s a no lose for Dakchoka

Totally agree. The only thing Jethro could do if was intent on moving to force a trade for some compensation would be to threaten to bench him. But who knows , Dak might have said I don’t care.

It adds up quite nicely if you believe Dak is damaged goods. If you believe Dak is going to suddenly turn into Roger Staubach...then yeah...it makes no sense.

Notice the trolls don’t have any rebuttal to the argument . Just want to discredit anyone personally for offering any opinions which differ from their noise.
or better options at the position.
i'm fine with moving on..
but not w/out an option in place.
like gb...favre to rodgers to love.

Don't be surprised if/when Dak is signed tonight in the middle of opening night for the NFL season.

Jerry always wants to be front and center.

His focus has always been marketing.
Makes more sense to do it during an NFC game. Eagles/Packers would be perfect timing for Jerruh.

I’ve maintained all off season that if the Cowboys were intent on retaining Prescott they’d have a deal done by the beginning of the season or very soon thereafter.

I’m fine with moving on if that’s our plan but don’t think it is even if we don’t resign him. I believe they have attempted to get a deal done which by all reports we’ve seen and heard would indicate so, just haven’t been able to.

Latest news is Dak wants a long term deal. And Cowboys want more of a shorter deal. Specifics weren’t provided.

I’m ready for the drama to be over. Why not just come out and say we are moving on. It’s why I have to believe they are still trying to get a deal done up to the last minute .

I stand by my message from the beginning that if a deal isn’t done by about the season opener, he’s done in Dallas. No playing the season for a new contract. He’ll bolt .

Despite what the naysayers have believed there’s been no indication the Cowboys haven’t been negotiating and pursuing to resign him. Just because they can’t come to terms doesn’t mean they didn’t have intentions to.
No. They waited on purpose same with CD. They did not want to free up Cap space to just here Cowboys complain about not spending it.

So you’re ok with not receiving any compensation for a QB who’s going to receive Market Price in FA just so we can rid ourselves.

If that’s the case then why not attempt to force the issue this season threatening to bench him if he doesn’t agree to a trade?

must have been some pictures of Jerry that Todd had. Still boggles my mind to this day how a guy with such mediocre talent got a NTC clause coming off 7 TOs in 4 and a half games, only garbage time stats while losing, and a broken leg..

The endorsers and advertisers must have stepped in or something.

Compensation is a 3rd round compensatory pick for a guy we drafted with a 4th and won 2 playoff games in 9 years.

We just cut a 2023 4th round pick and get nothing in return. Spent another 4th on Lance prob won’t get anything for him either,

Who’s to say Dallas hasn’t inquired about trading Dak? Dak has zero incentive to ok a trade unless there is a huge extension waiting. If Dak were worth as much as he thinks he is, teams would be blowing Jerry & Dak up with offers.

Look at what’s not happening to answer what is happening. Jerry isn’t in any rush to sign Dak for a reason.

I’d argue that nothing is happening for other reasons like public perception after embarrassing playoff loss and Jethro’s intent all along is resign him .

I think we're going to see week 1 before Dak signs. I figured they'd sign him before week 1 so they can avoid the controversy if we get blown out by the Browns.

Why would they want to give up draft capital when they can get him next year for free???

The only leverage Jerry has is a potential injury to Dak. I am also sure Dak has purchased a very nice insurance policy.

Let’s see … you’re leading the playoff hunt and your QB goes down and your window to try to win is now. One example.

You want Dak, Dallas is having a trash year, you give up some draft capital bc you’re a better team for Dak long term than LV or Carolina so the mutual interest is there and you can make an offer to extend he’d take,

2 examples … under 30 secs.

Add prefrontal cortex (conceptualization) to low functioning brain parts for you. Note the cortex is definitely not a lope or a lobe.

I own a business, I don’t care how much you think you’re worth, you’re replaceable and I’m not putting pen to paper unless you agree to my terms, I have all the leverage. It’s that simple but hey hey talking head xyz said blah blah blah. Yet here we are, no pen to paper bc Dak hasn’t agreed to Jerry’s terms. But don’t let those facts stand in the way.
