It's October and the division is already lost

In that draft, I wanted him to be a Patrick Peterson type of near-guaranteed Star CB, but he just wasn't.

Zeke:
Pro Bowl (2016)
First-team All-Pro (2016)
PFWA All-Rookie Team (2016)
NFL rushing yards leader (2016)

Runner up to Dak for Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year.

PFWA Rookie of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year.

The Professional Football Writers of America came out with its Rookie of the Year honorsTuesday, and the winners shouldn't be a surprise.
Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott took Offensive Rookie of the Year and overall Rookie of the Year, while Chargers pass rusher Joey Bosa won the defensive honor.

And you reached the conclusion that he couldn't be a Patrick Peterson type of star because you didn't like that he didn't have enough interceptions for your liking.

His success to date clearly shows what a flawed method of analysis that was.

Because people were waving the white flag after an 11 game winning streak. Hell people were doing that after week 1 in both of those years. It's an outlook.

Whose 11 game winning streak? When?

You mean people were waving the white flag after our 11 game win streak last year when the Giants beat us despite the fact they had 4 losses to our 2 losses with only a few games left in the season?

Yeah........... no.

Eagles play their next three games at home against winnable opponents. It's done and they deserve it. They went out and got Jernigan and Darby to add to an already stacked defense. Got Jeffrey on a prove it deal to help out their young QB. Their oline looks like top 3 in the league. Meanwhile we go 13-3 and get fat and happy. Benson Mayowa and Kyle Wilber are getting significant PT on this team. I'm totally disgusted in the front office. How do you not go for the jugular after getting so close last season?

I’m sorry but no matter how much I do not like what’s going on....

You cannot say division is lost with only 5 games played. That’s insane.

If eagles drop next two games and Dallas wins next two.

5-3
4-3

You see how making up scenarios works?

And if pigs were green I could call them frogs.

Philly isn't losing their next 2 games. One of those games is at home against a woeful 49ers team.

You are terrible with logic.

He has done nothing to eclipse the accomplishments of Zeke.

Says the guy who claims Ramsey couldn't be a great CB because he didn't have enough interceptions in college. And I am the one with a logic problem? LOL. Don't be bitter that you missed on your analysis of Ramsey because of a shallow way of evaluating him.

Impressive list of awards there for Elliott. No one says Elliott isn't a great player, so why the constant reference to the list is peculiar.

The Cowboys would have been better off as a franchise if they had taken Ramsey and then Howard later.

Here's where I go the opposite.
For one, Romo isn't the only fairly big name QB who didn't get the Brady treatment. You saw a guy last night in Newton who has been beat up like no other QB I can remember without calls. And some of those missed calls have been so egregious that were pretty big national stories.
Yah, Cam has gotten screwed as well. Can't doubt that. I think his cocky attitude plays a part in that. But don't kid yourselves. Romo hater or not, no one took a post pass beating like Tony did for ten years. Even Cam.

Two, I see the Brown versus Elliott situation differently. Brown's situation basically mirrored what the league had been doing up until that point........ trying to just sweep things away and hope nothing worse comes out. Brown and Elliott isn't an example of Cowboys bias IMO. It's the result of the league then deciding that the PR avalanche is too much so the next prominent player that comes along with a DV case is going to get the book thrown at them. Unfortunately for us, that next big name player was Elliott.
Agree to disagree. With Brown they had actual evidence, an arrest, and the NFL security staff itself rescuing the woman AT THE PRO BOWL. And what about the change to a 6 game suspension after Zeke's legal team cited the inconsistencies? Holy crap could they be more transparent.

We weren't the only team punished in the uncapped year. Commanders got hit and Oakland and someone else faced a smaller punishment for doing the same thing we and the Skins did, just on a smaller scale.
Commanders got hit worse. Pro Giants bias here, we're just in the cross hairs. The whole thing was unreal actually. To get punished for league approved contracts in an uncapped year. That in itself proves collusion, but there's just way too much money being made on all sides for anyone in power to fight it.

The critical calls angle is something I don't buy either because we've gotten calls. Our only playoff win in the great Jason Garrett's illustrious career was largely the result of a completely botched PI call that should have been made against us.
I knew that would come up. Like I said 187-2. That's one, and there's probably another somewhere.

You guys need better proof than this to claim conspiracy IMO.

I'm claiming bias. And like I said, I saw a pro-Dallas bias prior to the lawsuit.

I'm surprised. I thought they were making baby steps in the right direction. I thought with Jerry in his later years, that there would be some urgency this offseason to win now for he gipper

They might have urgency; they just don't have the skills or knowledge. They get lucky ever so often, by they don't know how to build on it. They thought going 13-3, meant they should blow up the defense and let our starting RG go for a guy who played half a season and who isn't even playing guard now! In other words, they have no clue.

It's not a miss. When teams downgrade a player in the draft, that does not always mean they expect him to fail. It means the players ranked ahead of him are higher probabilities.

If I downgraded Ramsey from top 10 but still had him top 20, it means I think he will succeed but I think 10 other players are higher probabilities to succeed.

If I grade him below Zeke then that means I thoght Zeke was a higher probability to succeed. It far from being proven who was the better pick.

People thought Roy Williams was better then Ed Reed for the first 2 or 3 years.

The change to 6 games for Brown was simply them trying to cover up a hole in their handling of Elliott. Nothing more, nothing less. I bet if say, AJ Green had been accused of DV instead of Elliott, the same thing would be going on. The league's action here isn't an anti-Cowboy thing. It's a "we've botched the hell out of these things and are getting killed over it, we can't let that happen again" thing.

So "lots" of people were conceding the division to the Giants even though the Giants were two games behind with 3 games to go?

Yeah, I think you are exaggerating that.
Semantics. If you want to deny that a lot of people have a tendency to overreact, particular about other teams in the division, have at it. In my experience it's a prevalent sentiment.
