Well you certainly know Washington wouldn't have gotten a FG and Jax ends up winning the game 30-27. Oh well Washington got a cheap win, I'm sure most teams have benefitted from poor officiating and instant replay. Skins fans shouldn't be touting their team as a superbowl contender (which you know they are) and Jax fans shouldn't be too disheartened by the loss. The better team doesn't always win the game.

So, because of a bad call and FG, the Skins ended up scoring 26 more points in the second half/overtime and gaining nearly 200 more yards than the Jags? Yeah, the better team doesn't always win.

We dont get that FG then we go for it on 4th and inches instead of kicking the FG and we dont even need to go into overtime.

Alright, well, I want to add this little. I do agree with you all about it being a bad call. We definatly got a gift right there.

HOWEVER, I think the reason why it wasnt overturned, is because of the camera angles. The Ref couldnt see the ball until it came loose. If you look at it again, the runners knee was down, but his back was to the camera. The first time the ref saw the ball was when it actually came loose.

Now, while it is pretty obvious that the runner still had possesion while his back was turned, refs cant overturn a play like that. He actually has to see the ball and whether the runner has possesion to overturn.

It was definatly a gift though, and ill take them however they can come

So Washington fans can't tout about being Super Bowl contenders because they really aren't that good? The best team we've beat is Washington, why are we talking Super Bowl contender?

The bad call resulted in a Skins FG
Take away the skins FG and the game never goes to OT Jags win by 3

Get it yet?

Too bad you don't know that the game would've turned out that way had the call not stood. We could have stopped them or caused a turnover and scored before halftime. You can't say that we automatically would have lost b/c of one play. You cant predict the future and neither can I. So you dont know what would have happened.

Just b/c WE beat the Jags and you didn't, don't complain. WE outplayed them in every aspect and you still cant give us credit. When any other team puts up 481 yards against the jags "monstorous" defense, let me know. Uintl then, you need to give credit, when credit is due. And we damn well deserve some credit for this win today.

I personally could care less what you think, but I'm just saying, I give the Boys credit when its due, like when ya'll beat us 27-10, so it's hard to understand what you have against giving us credit?

Guess you just can't realize that we are a force to be reckon with. I dare ya'll to say we got lucky, and we still suck, b/c we did the most damage to the Jags defense, this whole season and Brunell is NOT WASHED UP! Say what you want, but the fact is CREDIT IS DUE!

YEAH EXACTLY! I forgot about that!

HEY COWBOYS FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IF WE DIDNT GET THAT CALL AND GET THE FG, THEN WE WOULD HAVE GONE FOR IT ON 4TH AND INCHES IN THE 4TH QUARTER INSTEAD OF KICKING THE FG, AND WE, NOT THEM, WOULD HAVE WON THAT GAME!

SO THINK ABOUT THINGS LIKE THIS BEFORE YOU AUTOMATICALLY SAY WE WOULD HAVE LOST, B/C OF THAT ONE PLAY, B/C WE WOULD HAVE WON EVEN IF WE DIDN'T GET THAT CALL! :laugh2::laugh2: :laugh2:

University of Houston at Miami-

1st play - James of Miami catches, turns, takes a step, loses ball. Call? Never had possession. No fumble, Cougars don't get ball

2nd play - Miami receiver catches at Houston 3 yard line, turns takes step, ball knocked out of his hand. Call? Catch, Miami ball Houston 3.

I defy anyone to look at the two replays and show me any difference? You see that kind of inconsistency game after game. Just scrap the stupid thing, it doesn't do enough good to undo the bad.

And just look to a week ago when the Conf USA official reviewed and incorrectly overturned a play that was unreviewable. It was bad on two counts. The replay official had no legal authority to review forward progress and then he made the wrong call as the Houston player was still spinning and there was no overhead or direct sideline shot to really tell anything. Replay official suspended, but damage done.

I've hated replay for years and years and hated to see the evilness come to college football. Now I'm glad many people are joining my point of view.

The call on the field was probably wrong, but there wasnt a single shot that showed the knee and the ball at the same time.
There doesn't need to be a single shot showing both knee and ball. As long as you've got a shot of the knee and a shot of the ball, and these two shots are synchronized, then you've got enough evidence. In the last angle CBS showed, from the Jags' end zone, you could see the ball still in possession of the returner.

Not to bellyache about the outcome of the game, because anything could have happened after that, but if the replay officials don't take two angles into consideration, they should.

The right call was made.
The video footage was inconclusive as the ballcarriers back was to the camera, blocking the sight of the ball during replay.

Before you speak, ask yourself if you would cry if the same call were made against Washington or in favor of the Cowboys.

Actually if you would have went for it on 4th and made it, you would have had a chance to tie with a FG

Washington clearly outplayed the Jaguars. The Jaguars lost the time of possession war, their Defense got tired, and Portis and Betts ran all over them. Moss displayed some great YAC skill. Markie only proved he could throw a 10 yard pass in the flat. Still, they deserved to win.

That being said, there were some calls that definitelly went the Commanders way. And, personally, I think in that particular game, whoever won the OT coin flip wins the game. It just so happens the 'Skins did.

But for all this "We beat a team you couldn't" crap.... H2H scoreboard.

One thing to remember.

You all were flat until that point.

The bad call was a momentum changer.

You may not even be close in the second half.

To that point:

The refs screwed up....it happens. It's a "W" for the Commanders. They played much better today than they have previously.

I guess this means that all the Commander fans will slowly begin to show their faces here again.

Lucky us.

 Exactly. Even though he probably was down, you couldnt see the ball until it came loose.

Sometimes its not a bad call, but a fortunate break that other replay angles wern't shown. Because the one they showed had his knee going down, with his back to the camera, and then only being able to see the ball AFTER it was out.

Just cue up both replays (the one showing the ball, and the one showing the knee) at the snap of the ball, then hit the play button.

It ain't rocket science.

The referee on the field doesn't, but the replay official must surely have access to more than one monitor. If he didn't, that would be one huge oversight.

You need to watch a few more OU or Tech games then. College replay is horrific. Part of the problem is that college officials are worse than NFL officials. Some of it is just inexperience, some of it is lack of officiating talent, and some of it is bias by some officials. There have been games in the near past where critical calls benefiting one team by an official who was an alum of that team. Officials from one conference have a problem of siding with the school from their conference in an inter-conference game.

The officiating in college games is by far worse. This extends into replay as well.

Sorry, but Taurean Henderson was IN the end zone on the one play in question.

keep in mind I started this thread long right after it happened. I really didn't care who the teams were, I'm just really irritated with instant replay when we can all see the correct call at home and the replay officials still get it wrong...
