And who says seniority has anything to do with being an official ? They are graded weekly on their performances, individually and as a unit.

They are older because they have experience and have shown the potential ability to perform at the next level.

Alright, well, I want to add this little. I do agree with you all about it being a bad call. We definatly got a gift right there.

HOWEVER, I think the reason why it wasnt overturned, is because of the camera angles. The Ref couldnt see the ball until it came loose. If you look at it again, the runners knee was down, but his back was to the camera. The first time the ref saw the ball was when it actually came loose.

Now, while it is pretty obvious that the runner still had possesion while his back was turned, refs cant overturn a play like that. He actually has to see the ball and whether the runner has possesion to overturn.

It was definatly a gift though, and ill take them however they can come

Uhhh, the point is, the Skins turned around and got themselves a FG out of the deal, and without those 3 points (which they did not DESERVE), the game doesn't go into overtime, the Jags win it in regulation...

It figures that you Skins fans, who whine about how the refs screwed you after seemingly every game, would try to blow off a pathetically, obviously incorrect call...

come on, 1fisher. that fumble/non-fumble occured in the second quarter! if jag fan came onto some message board complaining about a call that happened that early in the game- and it didnt happen vs the skins- what would you be telling him? there is no way to predict what would have happened from that moment on. its not like it happened at the end of the game.

the skins O worked the jags D- check out the game stats. 300+ yards passing, 150+ yards rushing (the jags had 33), 7 for 14 3rd downs (the jags were 2 for 13)....the skins won cuz the skins outplayed the jags.

btw- i think it most likely was not a fumble, but the refs didnt have a choice. they never saw an shot that showed the ball before it came out.

I'm sorry, but our head coach doesn't tell the world that he's sending tapes to the league office in a press conference nearly everytime his team loses and there are disputable calls that go against his team.

Commanders fans are just taking after their man at the top, and we're just pointing it on a Cowboys forum.

The fact is Skins fans are the biggest gripers about penalties and calls against them on the planet. It all starts with their head man at top, which you all are just a reflection of. Apparently the concept is just too difficult for you to comprehend.

I can do an equally valid search on extremeskins and find probably ten times as many articles griping about penalties and calls against the team.

But I don't care to register on the homerish forum.

Your head coach has a reputation for being a whiny little girl. This is really just something you're going to have to live with. Penalties have nothing to do with it. But every time a call goes a little against the Skins, or is even remotely questionable, Gibbs has something to say, and is sending the tape into the league. Skins fans (and perhaps Gibbs) use the guise of "he's doing it to help the league".

This is, of course, complete horsecrap.

So just deal with it. It was a terrible call. You didn't need to see the ball, the defender didn't even start ripping til the knee was down. You're not going to reverse the team's rep for being whiners, so there;s no use trying. This isn't hard to understand.

I hate that line of reasoning. You have no idea what would have happened if we'd not gotten that figgie. There is no way you can draw that conclusion, because the rest of the game would not have played out the same way.

Ball is hidden from view even though his knee was clearly down, and that gives them sufficient cause to say "oh well, not enough evidence." That was ********.

That is the way the system is set up. There was no way to tell when the ball came out because it was hidden. Without irrefutable visual evidence, the play cannot be overturned.
