Straight cross to the chin of CBF!Oh_Canada;2665818 said:This notion of struggling against top TE's is a fallacy:
2008 vs top TE's
vs. Witten 6/96... this was prior to his surgery which he admitted should have been done before season.
vs. LJ Smith 2/13
vs Dallas Clark 2/24
vs Cooley 4/32
vs Scaife 1/22
vs Heath Miller 5/55
vs Todd Heap 0/0
I would hardly call those numbers impressive.
Oh my! CBF counters with a left hook to the temple to Oh C! What a match we have going on in here! Canada's finest going at it for the free agent SS title!!!:laugh2:Canadian BoyzFan;2666652 said:Actually my butt has a few other things to say:
2008 vs top TE's
vs. Witten 6/96... this was prior to his surgery which he admitted should have been done before season. Sure fair enough.
vs. LJ Smith 2/13 ( a blowout Philly win were the corners were abused). Although he made a nice interception on DeSean Jackson throwing the ball. LOL.
vs Dallas Clark 2/24 –The whole D played great. Good game for sure here.
vs Cooley 4/32 Portis ran for 175 yards. Just saying.
vs Scaife 1/22 Hardly a top end TE. Crumpler also had 20 yards. The running game went for over 200 yards. They didn’t exactly have to chuck the ball around.
vs Heath Miller 5/55 NFL.com highlights (Jones gets burnt by W Parker at 0:16. At 0:26 a Miller completion. Another blowout 31-0.
vs Todd Heap 0/0 (Check out the highlights at 1:48 missed tackle on Rice- for a TD) Pretty sure he misses the tackle at 2:30 as well.
You convenient omitted the Denver game:
Tony Scheffler had 4 for 92. At 2:50 he can't wrap up Hillis for a key 4th and 1 conversion.

The Parker td was a direct result of a missed tackle that belonged to Andra Davis. Maybe Jones could have taken a better angle....but that was clearly on Davis. Pointing out the catch by Miller just tells me how these stats are misleading, since he wasn't even convering him on the first catch (Jason Wright)....the second shows he was clearly in zone coverage and came up to hit Miller the second he touched the ball.
Bo Scaife....caught 58 balls last year btw.
So are you also blaming him for his front seven inability to stop the run as well...man I think that is a little harsh....never said the guy was superman.
Funny how when the team plays great so does Jones...what exactly does that tell you?
Canadian BoyzFan;2666933 said:Thanks, I am aware of Bo Scaife accomplishments. However, saying he's one of the elite athletic TE's is also a stretch. Besides who else are they going to throw to in Tennesse. This whole point is not relevant as I have tried to allude to already.
Holy crap. Did I say 2 missed tackles is everything. I just found some "highlights" so everyone can see this guy. I thought I said some good and bad things about him. All I hear from you is your "good". I'm trying to be objective, I'd to see more of it from you.
The "I'm right you are wrong" schtick is a little lame. Listen, I'm not looking for some i.fight, I'm too old for that nonsense. I just wanted to take a deper look at the proof you provided. Numbers are often decieving when you don't take time to look deeper.
Oh_Canada;2666986 said:The problem is your not looking deeper...using a couple of clips which most showed that it was the Cleveland 'backers getting burned by tight ends much more than Jones tells me you are trying to prove a case AGAINST him that is without fact. He is an upgrade over our current SS and that includes Roy Flubber...that is all I am trying to point out.
