Watch your step, kiddie...nothing was plagerized...as sources were quoted before inclusion....kiddie gene pool. As to content, you think someone doing the work of bringing information means you accomplished something, STRIKE THREE...

Sorry for the quick return. My wife thinks I've had too much to drink so she forced me back home to test my sobriety against my typing skills (I think she bought it when I demonstrated to her the difference between using words "to" and "too" in the same sentence).

;)

Okay, so that's entirely a lie. The truth is that we finished watching "Legion" at the theatre and returned back here to check up on my baby. And when I say my "baby", I mean my pit bull dog, and when I say my pit bull dog, I mean my baby. Her name is "Sunny" and we adopted her from a shelter that was responsible for removing her from the Vick compound. Fortunately (and rather sadly, I might add), she was a bait dog which I won't bother to explain - but it's easy to understand why when you see just how sweet she can be. Unfortunately, because she was tied to a tree and neglected for so long, she has a compulsive disorder that forces her to cling to me at all times.

And I do so with loving arms.

And CCBoy, much like yourself, I, too, am a disabled vet. And I want to render you a salute for the sacrifices you gave to our country and for a job well done. I underestimated you and I'm sorry for doing that.

Also, DC, you were way out of line, too. That was totally uncalled for and unnecessary regarding your comments - I honestly thought you were better than that.

Anyway, I wish all of you a great time tonight and enjoy watching the Superbowl. Drink massive quantities of beer but do so safely.

BTW, if anyone is interested in adopting a dog out of Virginia like my Sunny, let me know in a pm and I'll give you all the contact info necessary. It was the best decisions I've ever made.

One more thing, the movie "Legion" was pretty good but it bothered me that only the Mormons got it right. :D

It takes 7 pages of single spaced text to try to contrive a defense of Jerry Jones as a football mind.

Machinations, Contrivances, Hyperbole. What a joke. How bored and desperate some posters must be when (again) the Cowboys are on the sidelines on Super Bowl Sunday.

I just laugh at the drunken frenzy CC must have been caught up in. It reminds me of the move Jerry Maguire where the Tom Cruise character is caught up in a manic and delirious state, trying to set the world straight. In the morning it's a case of .....OOPS.

:laugh2:

Yeah, and what did Jimmy do when he got back into coaching? 62-7.

Numbers don't lie.

Not sure what that has to do with 'GM Jerry's' 14 year Super Bowl drought since Jimmy left the Ranch. Maybe you can explain it to me.

CCBoy, I read and enjoyed your posts. Thank you for taking the time to post it. :)

No doubt that JJ is a fabulous owner. I wouldn't trade him for anyone really. I think the jury will be out about his abilities as a GM until they get another SB win (not sure that's fair, but it is what is it). There is some merit to the idea that the most genius thing he's done was have Jimmy Johnson coach for him. I think the current coaching staff and roster *will* change people's perceptions of just how much of a "football guy" Jerry is if they can get a superbowl win. Until then, no one will be satisfied that Jerry really knows what he's doing.

I think he's a great GM. I haven't always thought so, but his decision making the last few seasons has changed my mind. But even for me the jury is still out, somewhat. ;)

I apologize in advance if my post isn't entirely coherent. I have the worst illness that I can recall in recent past right now, and I'm spacey and strung out on nyquil cold and flu.

No, more along the lines of Doc Holliday, in the most recent version of Wyatt Earp, who is it, Dennis Quaid playing Doc Holliday? Who takes the gin tin cup and twirls it about in a mocking rendention of being challenged with a real weapon by a less than tactcul villain....Ha!

There was a shelf full of information going to heart of issue, and all that can be stated here is...well, I wasn't able to integrate that into a realistic outlook and pick up on many of the included directions that were shown relevant.

No wonder one's first impulse is escape fiction...instead of saying to one's self...oh, I hadn't thought about some of those indicators. Go figure....

You think that if you were standing directly underneath a fully laden apple tree and fruit was starting to drop...you might ask someone to explain why YOU should move?

Maybe, because the ONLY detriment offered to a present view of Wade Phillips being competant or by the coach successful under Jerry as GM had been much WORSE in accomplishment after LEAVING the addition of Jerry the GM...so, what does the real FACTS indicate? That at the least, the combination of Jimmy and Jerry were very dynamic, but dynamics were present AFTER the departure of Jimmy the Great. So, what does THAT tell you? Don't even be tool enough to suggest that leadership then came from those players left behind AFTER the whole franchise had been given direction by JERRY.

Maybe, if one studies rotten apples long enough he could figure out what role GRAVITY has on a process of direction...as would the influence by Jerry in the role of GM. The comparison of disparity isn't as bleak as tons of negative nanies or media Soap Opera writers have painted for friction results...and mere attention gaining.

Then there is the slight issue of three consecutive winning seasons under Wade Phillips matched or beaten by a single other team in the NFL. If one is to drag out the 'closet case' renderings, of failed indicators. Try this one, in the playoffs, Payton Manning is just 9-9. Then in Super Bowls, just 1-1.

That just might indicate that winning the Super Bowl really isn't as easy as fans associate a final relevance contained within. Good and quality programs do exist without reaching final success. Few do that repeatedly....no matter how great a player is involved. No one would suggest that Payton Manning is anything less than top shelf material alongside a very small group of leaders on a team.

As to Wade, he is what he is also...with much of his previous record being in transitory positions on teams that were in need of change to begin with. It was easier for those franchise to blowup and start over. With Dallas, he has done nothing less than win each of his three seasons here. He has taken his team to the playoffs two of three straight years. And, he does have a second week entrance and a win in the playoffs to boot. That is getting up there in the onset of considerations. That is factual and current.

Just to throw in a pet bone of my own...against Philadelphia, Dallas has won four of the last five meetings! Now probably you, and more than half of all current fans who were dogging Wade, probably haven't seen that a GM lead team by Jerry, and a head coach of Wade...have led these Cowboys into the thick of respectability based upon their own evaluations, team directions, and leadership strengths....period.

Hey, my parents, bless their souls, gave me birth...but I hardly grasp to their apron strings in determining my own directions on a year to year basis.

Heck, even Chan Gailey had successes as far as getting into the playoffs as the remnants of the Super Bowl period were falling apart. That did leave a large void and need of redoing the franchise and returning to mainstream after a period of huge cap debts for the Cowboys. Think that is an overnight situation? Just how fast has Green Bay been in getting yet another Super Bowl Lombardi? How about San Francisco? Just to put some real comparitive reality out there to temper the rush to distant past...which this series of credable articles points towards....

(cough) if one had reading and cognitive retentive abilities upon entering into this thread. :)

Thanks for the kind words...and I think you toed the line well. The musical Kismet, has a final point of clarity towards it's ending: 'The writing hand once having written, moves one.' So be it, as this present group has an identity and direction now, and it will be proven and tested as it grows. The new growth is evident. Like all things of value, it will be measured as it progresses and achieves it's own levels of success. There is an evident and credable degree of success in this group, and hence, credabilities for all involved in the organization.
