Most of us said DON'T SIGN ZEKE.

Unfortunately the Cowboys did. Now the big problem (just as I predicted) is they are in a position where he has proven he is done, but won't cut him because of who he is.

You have no idea how much I wish I had been wrong. But this was so easy to see coming.
He isn't a problem. He's good enough to make a 1st down in a game winning drive.

Interesting they chose not to use Zeke on that last second goal line situation in Pittsburg. If short yardage/goalie situations are his wheelhouse, why didn’t they use him then?
They simply don't trust him as much as their other options, and I concur. I don't think Zeke is the dependable short yardage beast some still think he is. I believe Zeke's time is up. They shouldn't even have brought him in this year at all.

He converted in short yardage against the Steelers.

Having sentimental roster spots is poisonous to a team serious about winning playoff games. If they’re keeping Zeke because he’s somebody’s buddy or the owner’s favorite it’s just another example of a dysfunctional organization.

Zeke is far from our problems. Not concerned with having Zeke on this roster at this point.

Anyone might be able to do it once with the right circumstances, but the odds of that being the case would be very poor.
But odds wise, Hunter Luepke would be the better bet. Luepke would be my personal choice.
I like Luepke too, but Zeke isn't hurting the team. Gives them depth behind Rico.

He helped win the Steeler game

Deuce needs to go too.
Lol. They do need depth you know. The running back depth is set up really good right now. Rico looks primed right now to lead a decent running game and all the backs are healthy.

The hard truth is, if an NFL organization is serious about winning, it must take a coldly honest view of every roster spot to always be open to getting better as a team.

Tom Landry used to say he tried not to form emotional attachments to players because he knew the day would come when someone he cared about needed to be cut. It’s hard. I get that. But if you hang onto a single player just because you like them and not because they are the best you can acquire at any time, you are hurting the team.

Sure they do. I’m suggesting there are probably players off practice squads who could give us more.

Watching Chase Daniel's breakdown of Dak it is beyond obvious Zeke needs to be replaced with Vaughn or Cook.

He was running lazy routes, the wrong routes, he missed chip blocks, actually ducked at one pass Dak threw to him. I just don't see how they can justify him being on the active roster any longer.

I'll suggest that they are in good shape with what they have and they can run the ball just fine with Rico as their lead back.

They just won their 3rd road game in a row and Zeke converted a 3rd and short on the game winning drive.

Most of us knew it was unlikely we would resign Tony Pollard last off-season. Many of us hoped Derrick Henry would be on the radar because he would certainly require less than Pollard. But those dreams died quickly amidst all the cap lies the Jones boys fed us all off-season.

When it was announced back in the spring that a washed up Ezekiel Elliott was headed back to Big D to “shore up” a depleted RB position, I believed unless a miracle happened, Zeke wouldn‘t finish the season a member of the Dallas Cowboys. After five regular season games, I think his Cinderella story has become a pumpkin.

In five regular season games so far this year, Zeke has 30 carries for 98 yards, 3.2 yards per carry. He also has 6 receptions for 35 yards, less than 6 yards per catch. Combined, Zeke has 36 touches for 133 yards. That’s 3.7 yards per touch. Ouch.

There is zero room in the NFL for a sentimental roster spot. It‘s time to let Zeke go with thanks for all his glory days in Dallas. Those glory days left the building a few years ago. We can find another RB somewhere who has 3.2 yards per carry and has some upside.

It‘s time to say goodbye to Zeke.
I thought he would look like he does now late in the year.

More Luepke and less Zeke please.

Ref the bold - There's plenty of room when you don't have plans to compete for championships. Name one move Jerry or Stephen has made over the past 6 months that says they are focused on getting past the wildcard round. There weren't any. Some may say look at Dak and his contract for proof - that was nothing more than another sentimental move. No one in their right mind believes Dak can lead this team to a super bowl, including Jerry, and Dak doesn't really seem to want it himself. His focus is on money and how much he can rake in, nothing more.
This. Jerry operates with his heart, not his brain.
