It's Time To Panic

I'll be brutally honest here when I say I put little stock into your thoughts/opinions when it comes to sports in general.

So no, it's not time to panic, or even near time.

Which goes to my original point of not having enough draft picks to trade for all of these players but he now argues he would have taken them at the time they were drafted (except for Gaither) which would seem to indicate his powers of hindsight go much further back than just this year. So you are basically arguing two different ways and failing at both.

whoah - 2 slams for 1. bp is having a special.

If this is how some react when KK misses 3 regular season games, what would the reaction be to Romo going down for the season.

Spontaenous self combustion?
Ritualistic Seppuko?
Falling into a fetal-like coma?

Whenever I read these types of threads (when our team is confronted by sudden adversity), I am convinced of one thing:
I don't want to share my foxhole with some of my fellow posters.

What we are facing is no DIFFERENT then what ANY other team would face. NO team goes 2 deep at every position

Knee braces anyone?

If you aren't worried about the OL on some level you're lying to yourself. I'm not sure that making a trade right now is the answer though, we're kind of stuck with what we have this season, the last thing we need to do is pull a stupid Roy Williams type trade because we're desperate.

Just wanted to know if there's any more optimistic people out there saying that it's just preseason and everything will be alright.

The injuries to the O-line are more than worrisome. I feel like this Cowboys team is a Ferrari and the O-line has the Ferrari sitting on cinder blocks..in other words..nice to look at but useless and will never go anywhere.

It's time to get desperate like the Vikings and trade for Mankins.

The Dez Bryant pick is looking pretty fail right now since there's going to be 2 seconds for Tony to make his reads. WHat's the point of having all these weapons?

Who would start pulling the trigger on some moves?
Jerry said both injured players would be back for the opener vs. Washington.

The answer to your question is NO.

and if i couldn't sleep till jones made a move, i'd be delusional in thinking my worry would help the situation.

there are a LOT of cuts coming and moves will be made.

just not today so people freak out to pass the time.

Well I can only speak for myself that I am worried about it. But that does not mean I have to panic like a high school girl getting a pimple the day before prom over it. Nor does it mean I have to pull out the amazing powers of hind sight or decide that we should trade a bunch of picks for players that nobody else is willing to trade those picks for (I mean we all liked the idea of the knee jerk trading of picks away for Roy W). Actually come to think about it does anyone really trust Jerry to trade 1st round picks or multiple picks for a player with the idea that we did so with Galloway and Roy W? Seriously?

Now again...that does not mean nobody is worried about it. It also does not mean we would liked to have drafted some good O-Linemen along the way, nor does it mean we are tired of paying for High Priced FA O-Linemen instead of drafting them.

Yeah, trading away picks left and right worked out great for 'lil Danny boy in DC.

Oh wait.

Who's freaking out? And what's wrong with F-A-N-S worrying about the depth (or lack thereof) of a particular position? That's what F-A-N-S do, especially on an internet message board.

Hey you can look at Jerry's own past of trading away high picks for a player...Galloway and currently Roy W. How's those trades look.:

But let's go ahead and trade a high round pick for a FA to come in here, over pay them because their current teams don't think they are worth the price...and then continue to complain about not drafting O-Line in the draft or keeping them long enough to see if they pan out because we have too much money invested in high priced FAs or Traded players.

Yeah, trading away picks in mass is rarely a logical choice. Especially when teams know you're desperate and you'll pay the high price.

you read the thread? so we have a couple of FANS freaking out. like BP has just said so nicely, sure i've got concerns over the line, but i'm not gonna start a thread called "it's time to panic".

isn't that "freaking out" just a bit? so if some rabid fan wants to freak out, freak out. if this non-rabid fans wants to say "chill out" then i'll say "chill out".

it's what FANS do on a message board.

Bottom line is now we have no backup center, and even of Holland is serviceable, there's bound to be a dropoff.

So yes, I'd give a 2 or 3 for Mankins and sign him to a Bigg-type deal.

Seasons like this don't come around often.

Frustrating to read, isn't it.

Extremely! Not even half way through preseason and the sky is about to drop. Both will be back. Maybe not game one, but we'll have them for majority of the season.

A loss before the BYE week will not make or break us.

We'll be alright. Time for players to step in and earn that paycheck. If that makes me an optimist, then so be it.
