What many don’t realize is our Cap hits with Dak has been fairly minimal . So far less than 2o mil a season and why you pay out huge signing bonus and try and renegotiate before contracts matures as biggest cap hits are usually on tail end of contract.
Exactly. This whole narrative has been insane. Daks contract has not hurt us or stopped us from building a team.

We are not lucky to have Dak… We are very unlucky … he’s a guy good enough to hold on to his spot, but not good enough to ever take us to a championship. Guys like him can only win in their first contract… When they use up a small portion of the the cap so you can build a great team around them.
Ok who's your QB instead?

Good points.

But Cole had his best seasons with Buffalo, not Dallas.

And he was already showing great ypt in 2014, though in fewer targets.
Cole was a guy who kept improving over the years.
I remember being excited about what he and Romo could do in 2016.

Just don't think that Dak made Beasley. Beasley was productive before and after Dak.
If anything Beasley helped make Dak. Beasley was Dak's go to in the short middle.

With a season of tape to study, defenses took that away from Dak and all of a sudden the entire receiver group was criticized for "not being able to get separation".

17 and 19 mil cap hit last two seasons is a bargain. This year 26. And why next year you have to renegotiate or move on. We will likely renegotiate. Keep pushing the van down the road . This is Biz 101 in NF.

All I want to know is if a contract is no longer the highest paying contract, the player no longer EXPECTED to play like an elite player?
.
Dak is no longer held accountable to be an elite level?
That’s trolling material . Grow up. If you truly want an adult conversation , let me know.

No, 17 and 19 mil cap hits last two years has not prevented us from adding more talent . We had additional money we chose not to use .

Our issues go much deeper than our qB. Would we like an Elite QB? Of course .

Unfortunately most teams don’t have one. You have to find one you can win and get to the playoffs with and build around them best you can. And you’re likely to lose to better teams and QB’s .

What garbage.

I remember the Romo haters doing the same thing about stats that made Romo look good.

Go back to High School and learn how to be a fan and root for the play...for the all negatives. Redevelopment of team respect is at this core. Over the past two seasons, this team has earned everyone's respect.

Football is still a sport and each and every game...all considered, are in question in football. But for reasons way beyond a non-stop crying despite the good and respectable play.

This is spot on Coach. Dallas is a winners town. We pushed Dandy Don to early retirement , benched our first SB qb in Morton and unappreciated Danny Boy .

We lucked out hitting on both Romo and Prescott as neither were intended to be starters . Sometimes it’s just not in the cards for everyone to win championships .
The big point is they had no problem changing when the QB didn’t cut it. Now with JJ it’s a for life concept.

Priorities area different with this ownership . Interesting and relative is enough to hype hope and keep the revenue train rolling so he can continue his ways being a football guy.

And for the record they didn’t always change on their own. Meredith shocked everyone by retiring. White’s injuries ended his career . And Morton was given ample opportunities but a guy named Staubach simply took over .
