Showers was out there surrounded with little talent and a defense that knew he had to chuck it on every play. He was OK but he still looks like a stop gap at this point. Love to see them draft a QB in 16.

Showers outperformed both Weeden and Vaughn in my book. He has a long way to go but I love his run potential.

Showers would get himself killed against a decent defense if he can't play from the pocket. Weeden looked good coming out of the gate until the ball was snapped over his head.

Weeds did look okay.
However, fwiw, the ball was snapped shoulder high and right through his hands

He can make NFL reads and I liked what I saw. His receivers were pretty bad.

That being said, I thought overall Vaughn looked better on his throws in the pocket. Vaughn throws a plus intermediate ball that I've seen nothing like from Showers. Two of Showers completions were those PA rollouts to Swaim. He seemed a bit erratic in the pocket although he did have two throws that were money and dropped.

He was better than Weeden and Vaughn out there. Frankly, Im tired of the Weeden experiment. If were already experimenting with the very important runningback position I think we might as well experiment with a backup QB and possibly a future replacement for Romo. Lets face it, if Weeden has to be in the game, were going to be in big trouble. So why prolong in the inevitable? Dump Weeden and go with Showers and Vaughn as backups. Its the more logical move.

He has shown more in practice and in this game than any other churned developmental quarterback we've had since Romo was on the team.

We need to keep this guy around. Vaughan looks okay, but Showers is dynamic and has a better arm.

Keep him. See if he develops, because if he does he has the potential to be really good, IMO.

I like what I've seen so far, and would be more inclined to agree with you if he can repeat it.

It would be nice to see him play with better receivers. He has mobility and the willingness to use his arm strength.

With Vaughan I don't see a lot of progress from last year, but I do like him.

What I like the most about Showers is he doesn't just scramble away when it isn't there for him, he keeps looking down field. A lot of mobile QB's bail after their first read this early in their career.

Can either of them show some down field accuracy.......The door is open for Carson Wentz late in the 1st round.

I'd be pretty shocked if Wentz goes that high. I'm thinking late 2nd at the earliest. It's hard for FCS QBs to do enough to make teams confident to take them that high.

Showers looked like a borderline practice squad guy.

I was much more impressed with Vaughan tonight. He's still locking on receivers and needs the reps, but he hung in the pocket and threew with some heat. Showed pocket mobility and good athleticism.

He got worse as the game went on. He started out really well and then became captain check down. Even on his completions early he completely stared down his received and never looked away.
