Can't really jump to conclusions on this............yet.

You can if you have been following him on Twitter....The guy is a nutcase. And leads a double life. Sadly...this guy is flushing all of his talent away...for a lifestyle on the edge. Just dumb.

And I'm done supporting stupid players....and so should the Cowboys.

In one breath you call Slater an ignorant slut, then you speak to me about compassion lol. So slander, ridicule and disrespect are all options huh? Seriously man there are only 2 actual options, support him or release him.

Im sorry you dont understand the lay of the land, but when you are in the public eye accepting all the accolades and millions of dollars you are also in the public eye receiving all the scrutiny that comes along with your celebrity status.

You dont need to get worked up and start throwing insults around and I am not lacking in compassion or empathy. I am simply being realistic about Irving's job and some of the responsibilities or pitfalls that come along with it. Keep your shirt on big fella, we can agree to disagree lol.
I never said that about Slater. You need to re-read what I wrote if that's what you understood. It was part of an old SNL skit. The name, Jane reminded me of it. That's all.

I'm sorry you think that is the "lay of the land". It never use to be that way and it shouldn't be that way now.

We CAN agree to disagree.

Kid has a lot of growing up to do apparently. And he has kids. Kids having kids. And a nutbag gf. He needed to be at TC in a structured environment.

I remember the skit. I believe it was Dan ackroid that said it on a newscast skit. I loved that and rosanne rosanna danna. And the landshark. I guess I am old.

He couldn’t show up because he apparently has a rehab situation to deal with. And as a professional athlete, unfortunately, one of the downsides to that is not having as much privacy as a regular person, especially when what you are doing/have done off the field prevents you from showing up for the start of fall camp.

If you want to look like a fool and argue semantics, go right ahead.
You are just making guesses. You don't know if he could have showed up if he wasn't excused. No one does.

Said in another thread that he's one those players not ready for responsibilities of playing in NFL ......even with 4+ years under his belt.

Jane Slater... One of the physically brightest parts of the TC grind. I could watch her reports all day long as opposed to Micky and his band of brown nosers.

Please....the other 1/3 of his threesome has been spouting this for the last 3 months on twitter...that the truth was about to come out about his "suspension".

Not shocked by this what so ever...

Honestly....I'd cut him...and sign Hankins. I'm that done w/ this freak show. I'll ride w/ Ward ,Jones, Collins and Tapper...and draft a DT in 2019.
Hey but, an action like your suggesting may indicate a slight expression of authority in the coaching ranks and we certainly couldn't have that!!

Violation of substance abuse IS NOT mention.......only rumors he's been in and out of REHAB

lol - yeah you're right. That's what I thought at first, but someone suggested that "FISH" was saying it was a drug issue, so I skimmed the OP where it mentioned a violation of the substance abuse policy, and assumed it was talking about something new. I'm obviously not taking my time reading things today.

Got to cut loose of this type of player, have too many on the roster now.. The professional athlete's life has too much pressure and too many distractions to accommodate a dependency issue. Too much risk involved.

Said it yesterday, anything you get from him more than 8 games is a bonus. Hopefully he gets the help he needs and can overcome whatever the issue may be....

Ahhhhh....it seems like just a few months ago that a lot of us who expressed concerns over some of his tendencies were told “it’s no big deal, he’s just a kid, we’ve all done it. Who cares what he does in his private life or says on twitter?”

This is EXACTLY why some of us care and the writing has been on the wall for years, literally. The people who are surprised are probably the same ones who coddled and defended him by minimizing and trivializing his bone headedness.

Long over due to send him out to pasture, another failed Jerry experiment. I wonder if Jerry knows he owns a football team, not a half way house.

Yeah when you criticize a player here, they tend to flog you like angry crows. I'm not really sure why.

No one is disputing Irving can be a good player, but he can't be a good player if he can't play or is too disruptive.
