"Jane you ignorant slut"... a line from a SNL skit in the 70's. It crossed my mind when I read Slater's twitter post about Irving. I'm sure he has been trying to keep this information private. I think he should have respected that privacy.

One of the all time great lines in TV history.

Rehab for what?
I like Jane Slater, but she has been known to jump the gun on things just to break a story...and then end up being wrong.

Maybe it's drugs, but some say he may have had some mental stuff going off (depression, etc). I don't know, but I wouldn't trust her "scoop".

I suspect we've seen the last of David Irving.

That's why Jihad Ward was such a priority suddenly.

The mere mentioning of the word "rehab" suggests is might be several different things. Could be drug related, mentally related or even physically related. Since his 4-game suspension was reported to be drug related, it seems a real possibility that that's your clue #1. If it's physically related, the media term wouldn't be rehab -- it'd more than likely be "conditioning." If it was mentally related, seemingly, the term should properly be called "psychiatric evaluation." Take your pick . . .

David Irving may or may not be headed for release at some point in the future, although I'm inclined to suspect the FO and the staff will choose to keep him around this year as one who should prove useful as a part of the DL rotation. In the meantime, Jihad Ward is making the most of the opportunity that was afforded him by way of Irving's suspension and the subsequent "rehab" to follow.
Whoa! Seems like things are getting more intriguing by the day! :omg:

I dunno, maybe it's not a bad thing. My my friends and I go out boozing we call it rehab.

Yeah, baby! Sounds like fun! But he get's suspended from his job and you don't. There's gotta be a moral to that story, I think. ;)

Disagree. None of us are perfect but we still deserve our privacy. This is a private matter so the press should butt out.

She just doing her job . . . maybe Irving should tale care of his as well?

That's a load of BS. There once was a thing called ethics in journalism, privacy was respected. Then came social media gossip like TMZ and others that think everything they can get their hands on is fair game. It's mainly driven by millennial's entitled belief they have a right to know everything, which is ironic when they increasingly know less and less about what really matters. You know it's true or maybe you don't if you are a millennial. :muttley:

Let's not get nasty, here, OK? I'm much older than you'd prefer to think. Just because you happen to have an opinion, it doesn't mean everyone else is obliged to see it your way. Get real. Jan Slater is doing what she's responsible for and what she's getting paid to do. She's reporting on the state of the team and those who should be doing their job as well. Not all of us here have to fit your pre-conceived idea as to what you think things are or should be. If Irving just does what he's getting paid a fortune to do, he wouldn't be in the trouble he's in right now.
It's as simple as that. :muttley:

I sincerely hope David Irving gets his life together and wish him the best. And I also hope the Cowboys cut him ASAP. His issues far outweigh whatever value he once had to the team.

Only a millennial would coddle a highly paid professional athlete lol. How about some old school show up to work reliably, roll up your sleeves and get your job done? You want your privacy intact, then instead of just cashing checks do your damn job. Then the gossip girls will have nothing to gossip about.

I know the media sux, but this isnt a media problem this is a Irving problem.

**** solders were just doing their job too, doesn't make it okay. There is a code of ethics in journalism and Jane violated it by suggesting things that may not be true and ignored how that would affect him. We don't know the nature of his rehab. Could be psychological, could be drug related could be something else. It is not as simple as you want to make it. We can agree to disagree all we want but his right to privacy has potentially been violated by her reporting. If so, he should be suing her in the future.

Why is this guy on the team? Can someone please explain to me why?

When was the last time Dallas made a statement and dumped a player? It is becoming a bit of a mockery.
