Jerry has one problem that continues to hold him and the franchise down. And it isn't Jerry himself.

Either way, before we cut Ware I was speculating swapping him for Allen at a two year deal that was straightforward with a club option on the second at full market rate for a ten-sack player. It makes some sense since we desperately need a stopgap there. Thought it was a more likely option than asking Ware to take the same cut. And Allen is maybe less risky for injury (if not as good against the run at this point).

Maybe Jones can entice Allen to forget about upfront money with his trophy case. Just let him feel up some hardware for awhile while he attempts to bedazzle him with b.s.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter is reporting free agent defensive end Jared Allen has completed a visit with the Seattle Seahawks and is scheduled to meet with Dallas Cowboyscoaches on Tuesday with the hope of deciding his future at some point this week according to league sources.

AllenAllen, 31, has a charity event for his foundation in Minnesota on Monday and is scheduled to fly to Dallas later that evening.

This will tell everybody how much pull Garrett has in the organization. Garrett knows that if he doesn't make he playoffs, Jerry cant sell the fans on a new extension without a riot outside Valley Ranch.

With our current JV quality DL, we aint making the playoffs. With Melton and Allen, we might have a shot. This is Garrett's job and career on the line, so lets see how much pull he actually has with Jerry.

Allen plays the game the right way. He goes balls to the wall every snap and is a good role model in showing how to play the game. He is 31 I think and has gas in the tank. I would take him in a heartbeat given the right price.

Allen wants a lot or he will walk away from the game. Melton might get offered more from SEA. Losing out on both them wouldn't be Garrett's fault by any measure.
