Our DL is currently JV level, I think it may be time to panic. That is why Melton and Allen are coming in for visits

The organization knows our current DL is a joke

Well I hope they know that our Dline is a joke and Im a bit sceptic about Jerry. I think he's had too much to drink frankly. But its crunch time for this team. If we don't fix our Dline this year we might as well call it quits for one year, trade Romo and cut Wittten because its going to be an all out rebuilding. I said all along that we gave up on Ware and Hatcher too easily and that we should have at least gave them an offer, not matter how low. I was kinda in favor of restructuring Ware but thats out of the picture at the moment. Is it time to panic right now? Not really. But urgency is needed. I have a feeling we might over pay. If thats the case so be it. I'll give Jones a E for effort.

I'm good on both if it's the right deal and as long as the team isn't duped into thinking the dline is fixed and ignores the position again this draft.
Unfortunately, I just fail to see how the Cowboys land both if they are trying to be prudent with there contract offers. You know Seattle will be doing the same, but with a Super Bowl in there hip pocket I can't see why these guys choose the 'Boys....especially Allen.

It would come down to money, plain and simple.

The Cowboys would have to overpay to get either guy.

Seattle offers a currently higher profile, in an already dominant defense, with the chance to win a championship.

Dallas doesn't offer any of that so their only alternative is more money.

I expect that Dallas is being used in an attempt to drive up the asking prices of both players.

And the usual suspects will crap on everything Cowboy related

Except the most recent Jerry and jimmy split thread.

And the homers will continue to praise everything they do and continue to sell "the sun'll come out tomorrow" routine.

Two halves of the equation, much like the two halves of the win-loss equation that leads to 8-8.

One thing the keep in mind is that despite how much poopoo is laid on this team, we still provide massive media exposure and the moniker America's team is not misguided.

True.

But being the current champions, Seattle's profile has never been higher.

And signing there gives both the chance to play on an already dominant defense and a great chance at another ring.

How possible is it for all three visitors too sign? At least the 2 Dlineman?

I would be surprised. Either/or would be my guess.

I do not have any problem with trying to improve the worst unit on the team.

The only reservation is that it seems to be a trade off with Ware. I do not see how things are different from a talent level, one or the other besides the fact Ware's contract out of the way.

I think we need one of these guys to position ourselves better for the draft.

I'd hate to go into the draft needing 3 starter in the DL alone. Get Allen or Melton and we at least have a little breathing room

I don't know if I agree on Melton. Not only does he have the home connection, he also has his former defensive coordinator. If the salaries end up being comparable, he will probably go to Seattle, but it is not all that one-sided.

Both guys were raised in Dallas county and that could be the x factor in signing them...sometimes you just wanna go home.

If we don't get Melton, Jerry will over-pay for Allen, it tis the way of things.

It would kind of be fun to see if only to see the reaction of the people who believe there was some sort of massive culture change in play when Ware was cut.

This could be a big week for us. If we can land Melton and Allen. It gives us lee way in this draft. If someone like Donald doesn't fall. We can go Martin or Dix then go dline in round 2-3. This can work for us

Allen and Melton would be an amazing fix for losing hatcher and ware. Melton is 5 years younger than Hatch and Allen is the same age but more productive and way nastier than Ware. Draft Calvin prior and best DE in rd 2.

Yep, Jared is just 3 months older but SEEMS to have remained healthier. I'm still a little leary of the age factor. I would stay away from any bank buster deals tho. I would love to see both him and melton as stop gap players (2-3 years). I don't think that is what either is looking for tho so my hopes aren't getting up until the deal is finalized and we see the numbers.

If I had to take a guess Dallas will get a deal with Melton but I doubt Allen. I'm sure it is just trash talk but Allen has talked about how much he hates Dallas so don't look for some sweetheart deal

Getting both seems like it would be quite a coup. But then if I'm either one of them, I'd be more excited to play on the same line with the other. So really signing each makes the offer more attractive to the other.

atleast allen has proven he can still get to the qb. As long as its not alot of money and he would be cuttable after 2 years Lls.

but playing with seattle doesn't give either a chance to start. Melton probably wants a starting job so does Allen. I don't think competitors would want to go somewhere just to be a back up. I know there is the chance to win the superbowl and etc is greater but melton is still young he might value starting more. Now allen is at the end of his career so he might value the chance to own a ring over starting most of the game.

Actually on several occasions and interview on FOX pre game a while back. Again I'm sure much of it is nothing more than Trash talk but Allen has slammed the Cowboys several times as a member of the Vikes
